The Westin Tampa Bay

The rooms are very outdated. The furniture is old and smells. The rug was disgusting. The price of the room for the quality was definitely not worth it. They charge $30.00 a night to valet park and & $25.00 if you use the garage, which tacks on more money for your stay. The restaurant is very over priced for the food and drinks. The cooks could not get my meal correct. They charge $21.95 for breakfast which consisted of over cooked eggs and other foods in buffet style warmers . The furniture in the lobby is clearly worn. For the amount of money they charge and the hotel should be in tip top shape. Everything should be modern. They have a Starbucks , but they could at least offer complimentary coffee / tea/ ice water / ice water with lemon in the lobby. I have been to many extremely nice resorts where they did not make you pay for parking and and offered complementary beverages in the lobby. It was a disappointment to say the least.

Syringes!!!! So long story short. Stayed for 5 nights end of 2023. Had housekeeping in twice during our stay. The day we were checking out my 7 YEAR OLD was making sure we didn't forgot anything and she found SYRINGES!! I was speechless, had to explain to both my children what they were after my 7 yr old tried to look at them. I booked through priceline which is why I held off on my review hoping the hotel and/or priceline would make it right. But instead offered future stays and their low quality chain and pennies off priceline. No cameras in elevators, hallways, or parking garages which I definitely do not recommend for someone traveling alone. With the lack of accountability regarding the health hazard of drug paraphernalia its clear this establishment has no concern for their patrons safety.

I must say my visit was one not to remember I booked the Westin in advance to have an enjoyable and memorable night after our wedding on January 20,2024.
I am Elite Bonvoy remember. I asked for late checkout when calling the front desk to only be given until 12:30 pm to check out and the front desk operator had such an attitude when offering me a late checkout.
Upon checking out I was billed for $567 for room damages due to an accident per the linens and two pillows on the bed. I was asked why I was charged on my credit card without being notified. The front desk and the housekeeper manager said because we have to buy new bed sheets pillows and comforter and we have pictures that was their answer.
This was not the response I was expecting from a high end hotel especially a Marriot hotel that is fully insured and also charged my card $100 for incidental damages if occurred.
I was so devastated and had such anxiety to see this charge on my account and no resolution provided by the manager at the Westin.
People be careful if you had an accident out of your control on the property be prepared to have your payment on file be charged immediately with out your consent at this location. The room was very outdated as well with the interior design decor and detail and to be charged $767 in total is ridiculous and I will never return to this location EVER

Terrible hotel. Cold water ran warm. Toilet not working. Staff is rude except for valet. Valet was great every single day. We stayed here for 1 week. Dining experience was awful overall. To top it off they had a band playing on the roof until 11 pm and we could hear the same awful drum banging all evening and it was so loud that we could hardly hear our tv. We had to get up in the morning at 4:00 am for an early flight. Will NEVER stay at this hotel again. We had just stayed at the Sarasota Westin and it was WAY more classy than this dump. It takes a lot for me to write a bad review, but the only good thing was the valet and the Starbucks.
