My wife and I went on a tour of the old buildings in Tulsa, guided by Tulsa Foundation for Architecture. The tour was very educational. Reminded me of the old song Ain’t there no more. We noticed the Mayo Hotel . It looks great from the outside. After the tour we went in to eat lunch my wife thinking they had a nice restaurant. Something like an old Hotel the Davenport in Spokane, Washington. It did not . We walked around a little bit and then left . The architecture of the hotel is very nice. I don’t know about the rooms.

Great location right in Downtown Tulsa. Across the street from ONEOK and 1 block from The Petroleum Club if you are in the area for work with one of these companies. Penthouse bar is awesome, and even though we arrived right after they opened, the staff was prepared and ready to serve us, and the staff was just plain nice. We have not had a chance to stay at the hotel yet, so we can't really say much about the rooms, but just looking online it appears you are paying a premium for their rooms, and while it is close to businesses, there aren't many bars or restaurants available without a drive.

I can't speak to the rooms because I didn't stay the night. I in a group of co-workers had an event at the penthouse bar, which is a gorgeous space, with a stunning view of the city in a glorious view of the Arkansas River! The service was fantastic and very professional. Highly recommend for a visit or for a function.

After driving 12 hours we were looking forward to our stop at The Mayo. It was easy to get to off the highway and valet was ready to assist as we pulled up. It’s an old hotel with beautiful bones but lacking in decor of the period, feeling drab and almost Russian 70’s era instead. Unfortunately we were on the second floor with a view of a construction site parking lot where a yelling match between two people took place in the middle of the night, waking us up. We were most looking forward to a visit to the rooftop bar and a drink but when we asked about it at check-in we’re told it’s only open Wednesday - Saturday. We ended up walking to a restaurant a few blocks away. If you like a dark room to sleep in the bring your eye mask, an exterior light shines right into this room. The bed was comfortable but firm and the AC worked great although it was as loud as a window unit. We ate breakfast at the cafe in the lobby since the restaurant was also closed and it was disgusting. The egg, cheee, bacon sandwich had a funny taste and the banana bread was hard and stale as a brick. I should have known that because all the pastries were just sitting out in a glass enclosed case getting stale. Even Starbucks doesn’t do this. Overall not a great stay and would not recommend.

The suites are very spacious, with a FULL kitchen. Everything except food or popcorn. A historic hotel, including apartments, beautifully restored. Upscale prices. 😎

Pros:
We had a dinner party here, it was very nice.

The food was good, dessert was amazing, and the staff are absolutely the best.

We did not stay the night but the rooms are nice.

Cons:
Parking sucks, and the valet line was packed. Took nearly an hour to move 3 blocks, but that's not really on the Mayo.

This hotel definitely has that nostalgic feel, straight out of a movie. But the rooms have been remodeled and look really nice. The only downside is that the heater is in the room so you could hear it turn on and off all night long which can interrupt your sleep.

The Mayo Hotel while beautiful isn't worth the stay. While the staff were the most helpful and kind people the hotel was a huge letdown. The first thing that was wrong they gave us a 1 king room bed instead of the suite with pull out couch we booked. Although they accommodated us so my friend didn't have to sleep on the foot stool. The accommodation was a loose mattress they laid on the floor. What ever we have slept in worse places in a hotel, But all the bugs in the room were something that was a bit unacceptable. Wasps, Spiders, Moths this was terrible! I was informed sever times 13 times to be exact their is no other room for us so we would have to "deal" with it. I asked for anything to help out like free drinks discounted rate anything and was told " We wont be doing that because we don't ever do that." I hope your stay is better than mine but it was my first and last stay here I will be recommending friends and family to avoid this place at all costs. Pictures include 2 of several wasps I had to kill the last of spider webs I had to clear out of the bathroom and the floor mattress we were provided.

A historical beauty, with tons of modern elegances that rivals the era’s most well known towers. Gorgeous rooftop that was redecorated with better seating and even live events on the occasion! The rooftop serves some delicious drinks and has a great selection of local brews on draft.
