Waikoloa, 69-425 Waikoloa Beach Drive 🧭 Map
Stayed in the hotel for 3 days as part of a conference. The hotels location is amazingly beautiful, especially the lagoon. The hotel itself also looks amazing and the staff is super friendly and helpful. Also loved the legends of Hawaii show they perform!
The rooms unfortunately were a bit disappointing, while they were big one could clearly see that the rooms are quite old. While they were clean,...
This is definitely a wonderful place to take a vacation in Big Island. You have ocean views, pools, lagoons, dolphin quest, tropical fishes, and many other facilities. It is HUGE, and worth walking around within this resort. We also had a free upgrade to Makai which is closest to the parking lot.
Another thing I want to highlight was I used Digital access in my entire stay, for all the entrances without...
We stayed here for 5 nights. The location is excellent! Especially the lagoon. There are many tropical fish and a few sea turtles that made it the highlight of our trip.
The room is spacious and has a nice balcony.
I rated a 2 star for service because it seemed very understaffed… we barely used the tram because there was only one line every 20 minutes or so, and it was faster to walk than to take...
I absolutely loved this place. The grounds were immaculately taken care of, the rooms were spacious and clean, and there was a ton of stuff to do to keep you busy. The lagoon was by far my favorite feature - its calm, quiet, and you get to swim among turtles, fish, eels, and all sorts of other miscellaneous wildlife that finds itself into the bay. The food is pricey but comparable to most other local...
Wonderful resort with so much to do! Wish we had more time to spend here. Will definitely return. Snorkeling in the lagoon was great; even with poor visibility there was still plenty of fish and turtles to see, and you can swim under the bridge out to the open ocean or access the beach directly if you prefer, or swim in one of several pools and enjoy the water slides. There’s a train and boats to get...
The resort is nice if you want to be confined to just that area. It has a rail system that is not worth the wait to get where you need to go. Old and slow. The rooms were so old and dated. Carpets are just gross! Sandy and dirty. The $600.00 a night price was not worth the price. The food that we had was so overpriced for something inedible. They trap you in this resort, making it so far to your car...

Fairmont Orchid
Waikoloa, 1 North Kaniku Drive 🧭 Map
We were upgraded to Oceanfront room for an additional 100 dollars and it was an excellent choice. The view was absolutely stunning and the best view I've ever had from the hotel room! I saw a variety of fish (sadly not turtles) when snorkeling and the dinner at Browns was delicous and eating while watching the sunset was so memorable and romantic (though pricey). I would like to recommend this...
Beautiful hotel, amazing staff and service, breathtaking view and solid snorkeling from the beach. We were here for a conference and loved every minute of the Orchid. I snorkeled everyday from the hotel beach (I recommend bringing your own snorkel goggle and fins to avoid the rental fee which is actually reasonable if used for multiple days) and saw so many amazing fish, eels, turtles, and a crafty...
Paradise! The highlight of the trip was the lovely spa that offers amazing massages right on the ocean. Great access to the beach with fantastic snorkeling. We loved the pool and poolside dining option from Hale Kai. We also loved the option of sitting by the pool but overlooking the ocean and listening to the waves crashing. Dinner at Brown's was another highlight of the trip. All of the restaurants...
The staff and service at this resort were impeccable! I highly recommend getting a cabana with the ocean view. We were able to enjoy the pools and the ocean all day. The recreation staff checked on us all day to make sure all our needs were met. The food at the Hale Kai restaurant was amazing, highly recommend the fresh catch tacos. Can’t say enough good things about this beautiful resort and the friendly...
Hotel grounds and the pool are beautiful. Very family friendly environment with excellent service. The staff are on point! Not often are resort pools open 24 hours -- the kids loved going night swimming! I'll echo the reviews on the water filtration system...amazing! I look forward to returning for some more R&R :)
Location is spectacular! Grounds are beautiful! Resort fee of $35/person per day is pretty stressful especially since we spent most of our days on excursions but the Breakfast Buffet was very nice (perhaps could have had a little more diversity from day to day) but the food was good. This is our third time here but is pricey. Every time we snorkeled in the beach we saw turtles so that was a huge win...

Waikoloa, 62-100 Mauna Kea Beach Drive 🧭 Map
I did not stay at the hotel but went to the restaurant for dinner. Was $$$$ ($500 for 4ppl). But they validate the valet parking. Food was very very good. Cocktails were very yummy. We were celebrating a birthday and a marriage in our group, they did not offer any free dessert but offered a nice card signed by the whole team. The ocean views were beautiful.
PROS in summary: The location of the Mauna Kea is impressive. The beach is gorgeous and feels private. The staff is kind. Due to this, I rated it a 3/5. My husband and I just returned home after spending six days and five nights at the Mauna Kea to celebrate our honeymoon. Our room was in the beachfront wing, fourth floor. Once inside the room, we both felt the room was nice, with adequate space for...
From first pulling into the hotel, it sparks awe from it's exclusive entrance with long driveway into the beach sets the whole mood. Checking in Omar was extremely helpful and kind, however the lady whispering behind his back not sure if manager or whatever seemed pretty rude
We heard him asking if he should pour us juice and she told him no. Wasn't friendly at all, didn't let him check upgrades or...
Had a great five nights here in August. The location is with a white sand beach minutes from your hotel room. Restaurant options on site for dining. Employees were friendly to the guests. Bed was big and comfy. Room was cool at night with AC going. Two different balconies to use.
I would like to share what great service I received at the hotel's beach area yesterday. Special kudos to Manager X, Victor, and Cheryllynn (apologies for possible misspellings). These individuals all went above and beyond to make our beach stay comfortable and amazing. We had taken a hike to get there from the Westin and it was really hot. They all greeted us with professionalism and grace. The...
The hospitality and the effort the hotel provides to make you feel welcome is unparalleled to other hotels. I really loved the incredible ocean view, the gentle breeze that welcomed us along with delicious juice and crisp cold hand towels. However we were definitely underwhelmed by the condition of our oceanfront room. We first noticed upon check in that our bathroom shutter door was not closing properly...

Waikoloa, 62-100 Kaunaoa Drive 🧭 Map
We stayed at this resort at the middle of October for a week. When you walk in, the view is unbelievable. This was a work incentive trip, so they had a lot of the food catered. The staff did an amazing job. We had a balcony on the 8th floor and it was so beautiful. The higher the floors, the better the view. The rooms were very nice. There isn’t any places to eat within about 20 minutes, so the hotel...
Lovely property. Staff is helpful, polite, and friendly. Be prepared for very pricey food and $20 cocktails by the pool.
Only complaint is the pool. Why are these really nice resorts stingy about umbrellas? We had a very difficult time finding even partial shade - lots of lounges, but no umbrellas!
This is a beautiful property with great service. The staff was very helpful and attentive. The grounds are beautiful and immaculate. I would give it 5 stars but the experience we had purchasing flowers for our anniversary, was very disappointing. Aside of that, a definite place to visit when on the island.
The best thing about this hotel is the beach and the beach chairs. There are a huge number of chairs with umbrellas and the area is well looked after. The bedrooms are large and nicely furbished. There are plenty of water stations everywhere which encourages you to stay hydrated.
The service at the hotel, cafe and beach grill varied immensely depending on which staff were on. In the cafe they had...
I am currently staying here, and to say it is amazing is an understatement. Everything has been perfect. The grounds are clean, rooms are vibrant (and have great A/C). The beach in the front is spacious and has comfy lounge chairs. The best part is the staff! Everyone is so amazing and caring. Spirits are high at this resort and it has been a ton of fun. I would highly recommend staying at this property...

Room was very clean upon arrival BUT when people pay as much as they do to stay here, I would not expect hundreds of ants all over the counters or roaches. These were absolutely 1000% spotted and a main reason I declined to invest my money in this time share. Not to mention the bees all over the doors and ceilings in the open hallways. I get it it's exposed to the outside, but call someone who specializes...
My own apartment in paradise with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a full kitchen and lanai. What more could a person want in such a glorious location. Not what folks would call “real Hawaiian”, but a great place to launch tours around the big island .
10/30/22. We spent 7 days at Hilton Grand Vacation Kohala Suites. This is a perfect place for small family to stay at Waikaloa. The room has equipment full kitchen, living room, backyard table and chair. Location is convenience to shops, restaurant and beach. 1/2 mile walk to Hilton resort where you can dolphin quest . Very happy with Hilton Grand Vacation
the layout of the 2 bedroom suite is a little weird but not something that bugs me. the bar at the pool randomly closes and are closed during the busiest time. the cabana isn't bad for the price. pool is accessible and they have a kiddie pool. 2 slides and 2 seperate pools. i like how theres a pool at the top, above the main pool. parking is free and near your room, also first come first serve. they...

We loved everything, the hotel, the staff, the facilities. Wonderful stay and we certainly hope to come again!
Our special thanx are for Sai at the valet parking and the lady San. They were amazing!
Also we really liked the dog of Mrs Fitzgerald:-). We had an amazing stay!!!
Great resort, very friendly and helpful staff. Fun pool area with direct access to snorkeling beach. The only reason I'm taking off one star is because while the rooms are quite nice and fairly modern, the facility itself is not and showing its age. Particularly the elevators and patios/decks and some of the cabanas have stains on the fabric. Aside from that we loved it. Especially great for people...
Nice, relaxed resort hotel. Best to get the package that includes the fourth night free and breakfast buffet included. Lots of activities included with the resort fee like free snorkeling gear for four hours daily. Nice snorkeling bay about a 15 minute walk south with a large variety of fish. The hotel will be closing October 2018 for a renovation project that will take about 15 months. We will be...
My favorite hotel in the islands. It has classic Hawaii feel. Not ultra modern and hip. It has the Spirit of Aloha. When we Arrived we were greeted with a lei, juice and towel. Front desk was wonderful. We explained we have always wanted to stay since we saw the hotel on episode of Magnum PI. The front desk was very engaging and truly interested in our story..... Right them, I knew this was...
Absolutely gorgeous place! The hotel is very clean with friendly staff. Beautiful views from the hotel room and from the pool and hot tubs. The gym is a short walk away (with more beautiful sites to enjoy) and it has decent equipment compared to other hotels. We only had breakfast at the hotel and it was very good. There are many options for things to do nearby. When we come back to Hawaii, we will...
Great location. Excellent snorkeling, swimming and diving site. 5 stars for these. Visited more than ten times. Gradual decline in services over the years. 2018 update: in the past, you were greeted by a friendly staff at a desk and presented with refreshing towelettes and a glass of fresh fruit juice. This year's surprise: this type of greeting is reserved for Japanese visitors only, so the staff...

Timeshare side is like its your own place. No fresh towels, no made beds. But laundry in the common area is a huge plus. Pack light.
Lava Lava is best for food...go way left off property. Marriott restaurants are meh!
Great place to see, everything you need for a relaxing vacation within walking distance. The pools were nice and the beach, about a five minute walk was very nice. If you look, you'll probably see some sea turtles.
Fabulous resort hotel, beautifully fulfilled a dream of a life time trip to Hawaii. All staff wonderfully professional and friendly. Torn on this. Smoker on the lanai below us kept smoking and hotel operator/security were zero help. Had to close our sliding glass door constantly. We were in unit 4G in Feb 2024. Great condo. Tastefully decorated, full kitchen, and quiet. Lots of extras including cocktail set, tennis equipment, large cooler, aloe vera, spices, and beach towels. 2 story, 3-bath unit. Downstairs bedroom room had twin beds. Master had a nice balcony.

Great staff, comfortable accomodations, excellent location on the big island. Private Ocean Club has a swimming pool, a well equipped gym equipment and restaurant with good service and food. After a day trip to Honolulu and Pearl Harbor, the family appreciated the fact we were able to spreadout and enjoy the slower pace of the Big Island to enjoy the beautiful sunsets.
We booked a week of ocean view rooms. Our rooms were right next to the golf course; the view was fantastic! The rooms were comfortable and convenient, but don’t expect it to be cleaned daily and you have to take out the trash yourself. Staff is friendly, but expect island time service. From our upgrade to a 2-Bdrm. to the now nicely heated pool we thoroughly enjoyed our return here. Not as good a deal as pre-Covid19, but comfortable furniture, excellent maintenance and well appointed kitchens we were again well served by the resort.
Staying in a 2 bed, 2 bath condo is very nice. And the staff is very friendly. My only complaint is that it feels a bit like apartment living where you can hear the people above you stomping around. Keep in mind, there is no house keeping. However, the condo was fully stocked with everything needed to stay for a week. There is a grocery store about a 2 minute drive away and the beach is only about...

Rooms were a bit outdated but they've updated paint and flooring, bathrooms stuff like that. The lighting was weird due to when it was constructed. Overall, we were super happy with the space for all of us. The price and location were great.
We really enjoyed our stay here! We ended up with the 2 bedroom 2 bathroom condo. It had everything you could need, including the dishes and a dishwasher, as well as a washer and dryer in the unit. Our back patio looked directly out on the golf course, and you could see the mountain in the background. We also especially enjoyed watching the wild turkeys make their way across the greens! Nice apartment style hotel. We got a 2b2b with full kitchen — cookware and dishes were provided.
Very quiet and secluded.
Ventilation was very good— we didn’t even need the air conditioning because opening the windows in the morning/evening was enough to cool down the whole place.
Loved the view outside of the master bedroom
The bad: The noise coming from the above room was louder than expected. After the 2nd night we complained to the front desk and the noise diminished a little, but could still hear it at night. Front desk and pool staff were great (looking at you Mason & Kauna!!!). We quit eating at the hotel restaurant - each of 3 meals was just awful. Ex: we ordered nachos and they were overbaked almost burned to a crisp. Fish sandwich at lunch was sloppy.

Nicely appointed 2 bedroom. Little extras that you don't usually get with vacation condos, like plenty of dish soap, coffee filters.
