Have been there a couple of times recently. Steaks cooked perfectly , meals come quickly and a wide variety of meals. Can get a little noisy depending on where you are sitting but there are plenty of options. Pleasant atmosphere with a retro vibe.

Please do yourself a favour and avoid this place. The motel rooms are poor. We supported this business by staying here. We had been at winery walkabout and had a sensible day, wanting to end our day with some food and some cocktails and an early night. One of the girls went to order in which she was smuggly told by the misogynistic male worker, “I’m not serving you because you are in costume”, the poor girl was not aware that the RSA rules had changed and it was now based on what you wear. The manager arrived and was initially confused by why the misogynistic worker was not serving the girls. The male worker then went on to call the girls clowns and was awful. They then went on to serve one of the girls who had got changed but was intoxicated (again RSA rules have obviously changed). All staff including the manager were awful. We all went on to get changed and spent over $1000 at another pub where we engaged in small meaningful conversations and went home at 9 without causing issues.

Do not eat or stay here. Acccomodation is poor. Then our friends who were at winery walk about with us but had got changed were served then anyone who had not got changed but was not intoxicated was told we would not be served. Staff were very discriminatory against breast feeding mothers and against women in general. The group were made to feel awful and ruined the night.

Supported this business with over 6 motel rooms and they wouldn’t serve us dinner due to being in Hens costume. No one was intoxicated and they wouldn’t serve those who weren’t. Dissatisfied with the poor service. Most of the women were breastfeeding. All mothers very discriminated. The manager was awful to deal with. Avoid this place!

It was a good location for a stopover when doing our long drive from Sydney to Geelong. It's a hop, skip and a jump from the highway. I totally loved the mid century exterior of the hotel. It's like  stepping back in time. Unfortunately the rooms don't have the same vibe and are in need of some TLC. Our room was very cramped with too much in such little space. The bathrooms need to be renovated as they are very dated. Unfortunately there is no counter or sink in the bathroom. You had to use a kitchen sink for washing your hands and brushing your teeth. There is a trendy bar and bistro at the hotel but we didn't eat there as we wanted something other than pub food that evening. It's just a stroll to lots of local restaurants. If you want to pick up road trip essentials Harris Farms and the grocery shops are close.

We always eat at the Astor Restaurant each visit - it's probably the best food pub in Albury. Having said that, it really depends on the kitchen staff at the time. I have caesar salad each time I go there and each time the results are chalk and cheese. The last one I had was a bit woeful, the leaves barely filled the plate yet as I walked past the servery and saw another Caesar waiting to go out, it looked amazing. We choose to eat in the carpeted table area however the noise from the staff dropping metal trays and cutlery has to be heard to be believed, sounded like someone was having a tantrum. They have a significant fly problem indoors, spent a lot of the time batting them away. Some quality control as the food goes out would go a long way to a better experience along with fly control and less noise from the kitchen.

We took a family room on the ground floor. Whilst the linen was clean and fine the bathroom was mouldy and there were bits of render missing from the walls in the bedroom! They decore in our room looked NOTHING like it does in the images used on booking sites! Cheap but nasty....

The small double bed provided was so soft I opted to use the spare single which was much more to my liking. Otherwise this quirky little hotel was well laid out good sized bathroom and as a bonus being part of a hotel there was a bistro which after a long wait when the food did come was delicious.

Stayed at the Astor for three days on a business trip. The room was comfortable if a bit small and lacked some of the conveniences you would expect, like a microwave. The hotel is attached to a pub that served excellent food at decent prices. Parking was a bit of an issue, there was no allocated spots and you have to compete with the pub patrons for a park. Check in was easy and staff were very friendly and helpful.

Did not know what to expect from this Hotel/Motel however it exceeded our expectations. Rooms are basic but clean and comfortable however price wise very well worth it. The hotel is very clean and nice, great place to have dinner and kid friendly as well. The Decor is something to see and experience. It’s like being in Vegas back in the 60’s. The Neon Signs and colour scheme is very well done. Highly recommend to stop over for a couple of days and experience it.
