Mantra in the Village

Spa on the verandah was a bonus. And also a spa bath in one of the rooms. The room was clean.

Very good position. Right in the main village of Port Douglas. Shops, pubs and restaurants downstairs, marina straight behind, markets out the side, perfect spot.
Clean, tidy room with balcony, fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle and basic kitchen gear (plates, cutlery etc). Coffee & tea. Spa bath and shower with good size bathroom & vanity area. No need to pack beach towels, they are provided along with bath towels, all linen and soaps, shampoo, conditioner and body balms. Great value for money!
It was off-season, so reception are open for check in & check out only but can be reached by phone if needed outside those times. Staff are helpful & layed back, with that awesome far north queensland friendly character.
I definitely recommend this place for top value for the $$ and I'd definitely stay again.

Very central to Port Douglas with large and spacious rooms that have dated. The pool area only gets a small amount of shade in the late afternoon. You would have more luck finding “Where’s Wally” than a staff member on-site. The reception was closed when we arrived and had to ring to get the code to the safe to get our keys for the room and after that we had to figure out the rest on our own.

The positive side of booking a Mantra hotel is that we are able to use the facility’s at the other Mantra hotels including Pepper’s.

It has paid to book the cheaper Mantra Hotel and be able to use the best Mantra Hotels facility in the area.

Booked in on a Friday, end of November, for a couple of days. Room was clean, well presented. All good. Then things went pear shaped on the Saturday night. Guest/s in adjoining room partied till 3.00am on the Sunday morning. Management sent someone (we believe it was the General Manager) to quieten them down, but by that time we had had no sleep, so next days visit to the Daintree Forest with an organised tour was a disaster. We were promised (twice, by email) that they would refund one nights accommodation. Over six weeks now and still waiting! Otherwise our stay was OK, and its a shame that management have decided to renege on their commitment to reimburse us as at least some compensation for a ruined Daintree Forest tour.
Only other comment relates to the availability of "service" The desk at the entry appears only occupied for a couple of hours a day, and it was fortunate that we were able to re-stock some essential items(like toilet paper) ourselves without any trouble.

Large spacios well equipt clean room. Musky smell and slightly dated though.. No one at reception so you are left to work things out yourself. No facilities or services. I did ask a cleaner to clean off the animal poo off table near pool and she kindly walked over with a cloth and handed it to me to wipe myself. Lol.I guess im not useless but ......is not at the mantra standard in compassion to other accomadations. The noisy birds at night are so very loud right at window. Pool has no shade during the day
