Reviews
The reception staff are lovely but they work very limited hours so people do what they want. They “trust people to make good choices” ie the pool has no hours, bbq area is always open, as is the shared laundry between rooms.
Our reality, after paying for the most expensive room (Shantara apartment), is that you can hear everything from the apartment above, people swim 2m from your apartment glass doors and look straight in so little privacy, people had bbq’s next to our room at all hours, using our private deck and chairs, and our neighbours decided to do washing and use the dryer at 9pm.
It’s a nice place, well located and great breakfast hamper, but wouldn’t recommend it if you’re looking for a quiet private holiday.
The pool was dirty. So much so that someone had managed to scrape in the words clean me in the filth in the tiles.
I won’t ever be back here and hopefully the cleanliness of the pool has improved.
I would like to say the staff were very lovely and we got a discount as we had to change rooms. The location is excellent too. Within walking distance to all the restaurants.
Shantara was a wonderful place to stay. It was a short walk to Macrossan St for restaurants and shops
