Absolutely incredible hotel. The reception as well as food and beverage staff are second to none, everyone is so friendly and helpful. You’re right opposite the Cowboy’s League Club so if you’re into rugby you are in the perfect spot. The food at the hotel is also amazing, definitely recommend!!

1 bedroom is nice. Great staff. Breakfast buffet is great. Unfortunately after dark the area immediately in front of the hotel is a gathering place for homeless and leaving the hotel can almost guarantee you will be bothered for money. Otherwise it's in the middle of everything so that's nice.

A hotel reminiscent of late 1990,s in style, recently refurbished it has enabled the hotel to uphold its relevance. Rooms comfortable but not spectacular in big city sense. However this is a regional town and it’s purpose fit. Rooms clean, excellent location for downtown convenience

Great location, it's close to everything you will need. The room was lovely, the only con is no connection to anything in the bedroom TV. Staff were super helpful and answered questions as best as they could. The bar was disappointing as there weren't many options for cocktails. Buffet breakfast was good, options for everyone. I especially enjoyed the bacon and eggs. Just wish pancakes were an option...

it’s an excellent location and always a very nice stay

I rarely leave negative reviews but due to the lack of acknowledgement or resolve from management at Madison Plaza I have to say; We were given a Business Queen room with black mould in the air conditioning—an obvious health risk. With no comparable room available, we were downgraded but still charged the original rate and told we’d be charged a $25 room change fee, I had to argue my case to not pay...

First time in Townsville, I arrived at midnight an hour after my checkin time and was so happy to find the hotel reception still up and waiting for my arrival. The service was epic. I requested an extension for two days and was given without delay. I will recommend this hotel to anyone looking for great service and friendly staff any day.

Air con leaked, we got new room. Otherwise ok, little noisy at mornings.

The hotel is conveniently located. The facilities are not really bad.

Although I'm only a few doors down from this place, had a Bad experience earlier this year.. in which the issue was not resolved. One very rude woman who sees fit to publicly embarrass and Defame anyone without just cause...

$12 lunch, good spag.bol, seafood basket, rissoles, crumbed steak, burgers....won't leave hungry.... Seniors discount, show your card!

This is the third time I've stayed here and everything about this place is fantastic. However, the office closes at 5 pm and customers have to call for check-in process after this time. Either the office hours should be till 7 pm or the staff should call the customers regarding their arrival time.

Great location near the ferry to Magnetic Island and near restaurants and the city. Recommend Bayview Restaurant for meals

I was absolutely thrilled when I walked into this stunning 3 bedroom apartment. Its view is just about 360 and with 2 balconies facing each way and every room has views of the water . Either the Marina or the ocean it doesnt matter. E everything you desire is here. Location, service, amenities and pure luxury in everyway. Do your self a favor come visit you will not regret it.

Great location, the rooms were large and spacious. Fantastic pool and tennis court.

There always seems to be loud drunks partying. Don't come here for a quiet relaxing holiday.

Perfectly positioned close to the city, down the road from major retail locations. This establishment is well set out. This Lil family getaway was very much-needed and enjoyed by all of us.

There were 5 of us traveling including 2 young kids. We enjoyed the apartment as it had everything we needed -space, full kitchen ( it had even a grater and containers, which is rare), personal laundry facilities( which is a must with two little ones). We decided to stay in Townsville after my hubby had eye surgery and my sister flew in from Adelaide. Called in and asked for 2 rooms beside each other on the ground floor. Nothing was a drama and they accommodated our request. Rooms were spacious and the bed was amazingly comfortable

The bad; dirty vinyl floors, tiny shower, old aging decor, yellowing white goods, poor quality or no internet reception, patchy phone reception and reception closes at 6pm The good; comfortable bed, nice view of magnetic Island, is a quiet location close to town, and was reasonably priced. Verdict would I stay again? No, it generally wasn't that nice.

Good Large spacious rooms, well equipped and nice views. Sound proofing might be a bit of a problem but it was fine for a short stay.

The property was ideal for what we needed. The room was clean and comfortable, however, there were a lot of ants in the bathroom which made us feel quite uncomfortable..

Clean and comfortable with great views. We were only there one night, but no problems and staff were keen to help - they kindly facilitated an early check in for us. Motel is walking distance to cafes and restaurants, but it is uphill on the way back. Just to be aware of if you’re planning to walk around. A lovely find at a reasonable price.

Stayed her for 1 night. Good comfy bed. Nice staff. Good looking place. Clean Thin walls so you can hear a lot going on in the neighbouring rooms. Only 1 bathroom (that I'm aware off) that might get busy in busy times.

An amazing stay! The place was homely, Fran was very welcoming and kind and the beds were comfy. To top things off, the guest house is in a perfect location, around the corner from the city, the strand and castle hill!

Stayed in the 2 bedroom, 4 bed, self-contained flat for 2 weeks. It is quaint and comfortable. Fran is an absolute sweetheart and very helpful. Highly recommend if looking for somewhere affordable and in the city.

A quiet more relaxed hostel and gives you a breather from the "party hostels." Rooms are clean and tidy. Fran, the owner, is very helpful and always on hand if you need anything.

Just staid there for three nights, cozy place with all you need for a stay. I had a single room and this room contained a small tv and air conditioner. Washing / WIFI is for free. Fran is a friendly owner / host and nice to chat with, would stay there again.

If you are looking for a quiet hostel, this is the right place. I loved the fact that they are traditional beds and not bunk beds.

I stayed at the Civic Guesthouse for 1 night and I would stay there again. I was impressed with the hardworking Joe who wore many hats that day from being the driver of their free shuttle bus, to answering emails/phone calls, to being the receptionist checking us in and giving us a personal tour, to housekeeping. The stay was amazing, very clean and friendly. Not too loud and not too quiet. Best Hostel we have been in! Kitchen was cleaned many times during the day, bathrooms were always spotless and they only have single ones so you have some privacy. Great hostel to stay at for the night before travelling to Magnetic Island! Small but friendly vibes, they can pick you up and drop you off from the greyhound/ferry terminal for free. Highly recommended Civic Guest house ☺️

We had the privilege of having our own double room, still with the social kitchen and living spaces. A great hostel, with all the facilities you could need, very friendly and helpful staff. Very clean, AND a bath! :D Would definitely recommend.

Shouldn't turn light off at 10 pm in the living room many guests was still using facilities there. Should have more food shelves.
