Comfort Inn & Suites South

We stayed one night. Front desk staff were attentive. Room was clean, bed comfortable.
Could hear some guests above and in hallway. But they quietened down shortly. Really good breakfast options, even hot eggs and sausage and the lady who looked after that area was amazingly friendly and on to of things. Over all, impressed

We were in Calgary for a medical appointment and were very appreciative of the front desk clerk allowing us to check in early so we could get freshened up after a very long travel day & night. She even upgraded us to a larger room. We have stayed at this hotel several times and it is now our go-to hotel when in Calgary due to its convenient location, cleanliness, and comfortable rooms.

We booked this hotel as my daughter had a sporting event at the MNP Center. We came on a Thursday and are staying three nights. It’s a nice hotel that is actually pretty quiet despite being on a main road (although our room was on the backside of the hotel). The staff were swift to get us in and there was ample parking in the back. We had a 3rd floor suite. It was very clean, the beds were comfortable and there was lots of room for two people. I will say some of the furnishings need updating. The chairs for the table looked like they came from the local bingo hall but were clean🤷‍♂️. The TV was small and the remote didn’t work. These were pretty much the only negatives about the room. We paid $140/night…I think this was a bit pricey for what we got but it was on the weekend so I accept. There is a pool which we didn’t try out. Breakfast was at 6:30 am and it was nothing fancy but enough to get you going - coffee, cereal, yoghurt, toast, eggs, sausage, one waffle maker (which always has a line), juice, apples…the essentials.
Overall, we still have one night but I would stay here again, for sure. Others hotels were at least $40-$50 more for comparable rooms. Thanks for the stay!

Went here with my family and the price reflects the rooms. The rooms were nice but not spacious enough when you have kids. The breakfast had very limited choices. Pool wasn’t heated and the hot tub wasn’t that hot too, more like warm tub lol. And it wasn’t really that big. Their staffs were friendly throughout our stay.

OVERALL: This is a great budget hotel!
I've stayed here before and I'll definitely stay again. 👌😀

Plenty of free parking.

ROOMS: Modern, clean, big flat screens in the room, comfy beds, big bathtub/shower, fast internet, nice desk for work.

2 little kids had no problem playing with toys in here.

**If you are on the traffic/road side, if you're sensitive to traffic noise, it is a busy road. We use a white noise machine when sleeping and it wasn't much of an issue, but you could request a room on the back side.**

BREAKFAST: The breakfast is fantastic! the lady (I think she's French) was an absolute delight. My little boy was quite charmed by her.

Usual fare of eggs, sausage, toast, cereal, muffins, waffles, fruit, coffee/tea, juice etc.

**It can get a bit crowded, and might be waiting a few minutes for a seat during busy times**

POOL/HOT TUB: The pool is small and can get crowded, same for the hot tub (Saturday night), but they're nice.

The slide is fun but super fast and not suited for small kids.

**The acoustics in the pool room are such that a group of screaming girls going down the slide filled the room with piercing shrieks, and that was a bit uncomfortable, but they were having fun, and I'm not trying to be a spoilsport.

If they hung a couple of sound absorbing panels from the ceiling it might take the edge off of that.**

FINAL WORDS: I've traveled all over the world (45 countries) and this hotel is great. Don't be put off by the negative reviews, you'll be just fine here.
