First time here and it was a great experience. The hotel was very nice and in the process of updating. Rooms were comfortable and large. The pool was huge and kids loved it. There was also an indoor play area for the kids and it was a great place for them to use up their near endless energy.
I was really hoping to go skiing/snowshoe/hiking, but the weather was not cooperating. Went from -10°C with lots of snow to +5°C with rain, back to cold with lots of ice and extremely slippery. All the trails closed and even the walking paths were extremely slippery.
All the food at the various restaurants was very good, but it was expensive.
I would happily return to Deerhurst for a vacation or conference.

Beautiful resort and excellent service! We stayed there in March 1-3, 2024 for their annual event of Beerhurst, at Deerhurst. The place was so busy but staff remained kind and patient, they were responsive to any and all of our concerns and clearly knew how to deal with such a busy event. Our daughter, as well as ourselves were very happy with our server Felix, from Compass, took the time to make us and our daughter feel welcomed even on a busy weekend and night.
We stayed in the Lakeside Lodge, our room was spacious, and parking was right outside the door with shuttle bus to get us to and from the main resort.
Would definitely recommend this resort for a weekend away. Its a great family friendly resort. I'd love to go again!

A nice getaway close to Toronto. It's a nice spot to try out different rentals right on the premises, like snowshoes and skates. You wouldn't get as nice trails as say at the neighboring Arrowhead park, but it's good to try multiple things out without paying extra rental costs. The resort has cool stuff available depending on the season and the process is easy and quick. They also have on site restaurants, though they get popular so I would recommend reservations.
The rooms and the main hotel area is pretty old. Not great not terrible. It isn't very soundproof, though, which given it's a pretty family friendly place was annoying at times. We didn't really care for the view, but if you do, the resort view could easily be a parking lot view instead. There is also no room service/turndown if that's something you're looking for.
Still overall, it was a low key chill place for a weekend getaway.

Beautiful resort and excellent service! We stayed there in February with a group attending the conference for the International Society of Arboriculture. The place was so busy but staff remained kind and patient, they were responsive to any and all of our concerns and clearly knew how to deal with such a busy event.
We stayed in the Greens, our rooms were spacious, parking was right outside the door, we had everything we needed and the place was perfectly clean and stocked when we arrived.
Would definitely recommend this resort to anyone attending a conference or just a weekend away. I'd love to go again!

We had a great experience on a mid week getaway, although not all restaurants were open. We took advantage of the Golf Simulator & Spa (added cost), as well as the pool.
Compass Lounge or restaurant was delicious and service was great. Food came out in a timely manner. Will definitely be back in the future and might even bring the kids with lots to do on the resort!

Amazing service! I really liked that the front desk was all warm and readily let us Pre-checkin and gave us the flexibility to finales the room we wanted to stay in! Bful and very clean! V. Prompt!

We came here for the first time with our 3 young children. The facility is very family friendly with lots to do for our kiddos. We also ventured out to do Back of Beyond Equine Centers sleigh ride which we all thoroughly enjoyed. It’s an extra cost, but worth every penny. The food we opted (because of the reviews) to cook in our kitchenette and head into town restaurants and it was all good and timely. The pool was amazing, hot tub was great, and the fun zone and treehouse kept our little balls of energy entertained for hours! We will definitely be back and we plan to stay longer. We spent 2 nights and we regret not staying longer. Everyone was hospitable and willing to help in any way. Highly recommended!

-Visited over Xmas holidays
-Beautiful clean condo. TV in every room and decent, clear cable channels
-Beautiful views.
-Loud people above us sucked.
-Food at Deerhurst is not great. Better to drive into Huntsville for meals out.
-Lots of activities inside and outside
-Pool and hot tub. Hot tub is almost always full.
- Close to Hidden Valley for skiing (if the chair lifts are operating. They all stopped working when we went)
-If you don't like, or can't walk long distances, make use of the free shuttle or get a room close to the main building. Can be a 10+ minute walk from some areas of the resort.
Would I return? Yes. I would like to spend more time at Deerhurst and explore more of Huntsville and Algonquin.

Our room wasn't ready until over an hour later than expected (after 5pm). Despite great conditions, we couldn't do the activities we wanted (x-country skiing, Fat-tire biking). Took them 3 days to groom the trails at which point we were leaving.
There was no one watching the pool area. The hot tub was continuously full of people and kids - up to 8 at a time (despite the posted limit being 5).

Lovely facility, with great event spaces (super tall ceilings, gorgeous views from panoramic windows) and delicious food at a catered event. The room I was in was in an older wing, clean, but very dated—yellow paint colour, tub with small yellow tiles, big wooden dresser, etc. But the bones are there and hopefully they'll upgrade these rooms to the walk in shower style rooms.
I'd return for the spacious seating areas, views, and more. A lovely resort location!
