Prestige Kamloops Hotel

If your looking to enjoy the ammentities, I would book elsewhere. We booked a team of kids into this hotel because of the pool and waterside. We were told at check in, if the slide isn't on to come ask the front desk to put it on. The signage in the pool area about the waterside also states this. After check-in, asked for the slide to be on 2 days in a row in which they refused and said they'll only put it on from 4-8pm. The pool was also closed for maintenance which is understandable, however after it was "reopened" other guests we spoke to were appalled by their experience. The janitorial staff warned them from having their kids go in (mine had already jumped in and were swimming) and to shower off very well due to the heavy chemicals he had just put in. Allegedly when the guests went to speak to the desk staff, they were rude and said that it won't kill them (referring to their kids) and that at least they have a back-up child. Awful, repulsive service and we would never be back, nor refer anyone to this hotel. Very disappointed.

Hotel is literally on top of the highway. My room faced the highway and I heard every single vehicle that passed all night long. I had the fan on and white noise playing from my phone all night and still barely slept. Brought it up when I checked out and all I got was a sympathetic "oh" don't think the $200 per night was justified for that room.

New (or newly renovated?), good location, friendly and helpful staff, but: as described in many of the other subset of poor ratings, the service I booked wasn't available; in my case it was electricity. I had been on the road for awhile and needed a reliable internet connection to teach a two-hour class. a few hours after checking in, I was informed that the power was to be shut off for maintenance for the day. The manger arranged an alternate room in another hotel, and I was able to teach, but still. my feeling is they should alert guests when they're booking that a planned, substantial power outage will occur during their stay--instead of taking the guest's money and then informing them of the planned power outage.
