Sandman Hotel & Suites Kelowna

This hotel is not worth the price, especially when there is a couple way better hotels very close by.
They are misleading with information, the pool is out of service and they say they have it stayed in the website. I looked before I booked and didn't see anything. I had to scroll down the indoor pool page to find it in small print. The man said it's been out for months.
They also say breakfast available, this does not mean included.
If you are on the ground floor or in the main building you will hear screaming all through the night from people outside who are living/gathering against the building. You will also hear traffic really loud all night. It doesn't quiet down.
The door of the room that leads into the hallway is not sealed properly so light from the hall literally lights up the room all night, no darkness and no way to cover it up.
If you book through Expedia they put you in main building rooms, not the tower. The rooms used to be smoking rooms and they definitely smell like old Tabacco.
It's really not a great hotel.

Unfortunately, unsafe place due to homeless population. Two nights and cars broken into, windows smashed, and woken up multiple times due to their loitering and noise. If you stay here do NOT park out back. There was no hotel security monitoring the parking lot until complaints poured in from customers. My hotel room door wouldn’t even close tight to lock unless you almost slammed it, which I did not discover until two days into my stay. Anyone could have just pushed my door and walked in. Anyway, I guess you get what you pay for. Staff was kind and considerate; bedding and towels were clean. It’s just not a great feeling going to sleep and wondering if your vehicle is ok… that is if you can actually stay asleep due to the noise outside. I would not recommend staying here.

I have stayed at this Sandman twice in the past and it has been a good experience. This time was a terrible experience and I will not be going back. I recommend finding a different place for the money you are spending.

The room was not clean when we walked in. Stains on the kitchen counters, huge yellow stains on the pillows that rest on the sofas, the balcony door was barely shutting. The bathroom counters were dirty and stained and there was no toilet paper on the rack, i had to search the cabinets and put it there myself. The towels smell like pure bleach and caused a reaction on my face. My face was itchy the whole day when I used them on my face. The washroom door and room door was also not shutting properly. The room itself was fine except for the uncomfortable pillows and the stains on the sheets. When I asked for a new room because of the lack of cleanliness they said they are sold out. The front desk host did not ask about our experience while checking out so I was not able to share. Hopefully they can fix this and actually clean the rooms and give people what they pay for.
