North Vancouver Hotel
North Vancouver, 1800 Capilano Road 🧭 Map
We like the location, always stay around this area, easy access to downtown, shipyards and west van.
Hotel is basic and dated but mostly clean. Breakfast is good.
For the price the hotel is what you'd expect. The rooms were clean but very dated. The beds were average on comfort level. Temperature controls work and room was nice and warm.
Breakfast was pretty decent. Warm pancakes and a toaster over to make ham and cheese melts, some small pastires, cereal and fresh fruit.
Keep in mind there is no longer a pool.
Location is fairly good. A couple minute walk...
A nice surprise it doesn’t look very appealing from the outside but the rooms are spacious, comfortable and very clean. WiFi is good, shower strong and staff friendly. Breakfast still comes in a bag, not sure why.
I spent 5 nights staying here at the end of my holiday in Canada and it was the perfect place to finish. Close to public transport. Great breakfasts delivered to my room each morning were a nice touch and Denny’s is within easy walking distance for other meals. Comfortable room with everything I needed, I’ll be back.
I spent three nights at this hotel and enjoyed my stay very much. The room was spacious and very clean. The prices were fantastic than other hotels. And they provide breakfast and take them to your room each morning. Great value for the money. I would definitely stay here again.
The rooms are very clean and cozy. Equipped with a fridge and a microwave + coffee machine. Awesome breakfast: eggs and sausages, cold cuts, fruits and stuff. They have a machine that makes pancakes! And all this on a budget!
The curtains needed a clean and the tub had a chip in it, but otherwise the place was good. We didn't get housekeeping, so it was a bit dusty after we left. They were nice and let us stay in the same room for our 1 day second booking without a problem. The mini fridge is a good size and it has a stove, sink, and microwave as well.

This hotel is giving motel vibes and a bit dated. However, they have excellent staff service and the rooms are clean minus a bottle they might have missed behind Bedside table. You also get grab and go breakfast which is fairly decent. It is close to convenience e.g. gas stations and bus stop. For a short stay..it is great but not for pampering
Overall, decent for the price paid. The rooms were comfortable and had a decent amount of space, the bathroom was good, and the location was nice (and free parking).
The only downsides were that the pool / sauna were not on yet and there was no gym. Also, the breakfast was very simple - just a grab and go muffin, cookie, granola bar, fruit.
However, despite these downsides, the hotel was still...
Good rooms, reasonable price. The most important thing which i really love about their customer services. I stayed here twice. The customer service they provided me just blows me away. Really friendly and helpful staff( front desk supervisor).
A cute old style hotel / motel . Vintage building well maintained, looks like a family. Good value, 200$ on a Saturday night close to the city without the 400$ price tag. Wished we planned ahead brought food to cook up a nice meal in the kitchenette. #109 . Clean and cozy bed. We’ll be back ! We’re local .
Great amenities (besides the broken hot tub) for the price in this city. Furnishings are old but we had everything we needed and it seemed pretty clean. Close to downtown with no traffic or mild traffic (20 to 30 minutes). Although it took me over an hour to get downtown on Saturday evening at 5pm so beware of that. Love the delicious 24/7 coffee!
Really nice rooms, lots of room and nice and clean! The breakfast was nice. The location is great with close links to transport into Vancouver. Nice area to walk around and the hotel was reasonably priced.

Some of the staff are addicts themselves so they fit right in with the rest of the place lol The place is very old yet has maintained it's integrity to an extent. Special privileges are given to select individuals so it is beneficial to some guests that have become regular fixtures
Small hotel on E.Hastings str which lead you through Chinatown to Downtown. The rooms are small old moderated but clean. Lobby is small but symphatic. The breakfast is served in the pub, regular nothing special. But in the evening there is a interesting coutry music or jazz
The location In On Hastings You need to Pass Lots of Homless And Ppl Doing And Useing Drugs to Get to the Hotle where it iz Service With the Staff ppl that Part time and Full time Works Here Not As meany Englsh Staff Real can Talk the Engalsh Here at this hotle snd for the Rooms EVER ever Small 2 adlats and 2 Kids Real small Rooms At this Hotle
An historic Vancouver spot in Vancouver's Downtown East side. Ignore everything you've heard.. it's a very safe place, that we've been frequenting for years. Worth the free Jazz Saturday afternoons (by donation), the good freshlyrics brewed beer & tasty pub grub. Friendly service, decent prices
Location is awesome easy to get every where however you cant have a weak stomach. Its is east hastings. You will see drug use...passed out homeless people...tents.. the staff is great. Restaurant downstairs great. The rooms are small but you get what you pay for... great place to rest your head on a budget.
It's perfect for REAL explorers or adventurers who love traveling and can care less to spend a ton on a room to lay their head. I doubt there are bed bugs since the beds have mattress and box spring covers. And just remember that there are hostel-like rooms and the deluxe rooms are more like hotel rooms we're all accustomed to. It's been a great stay!

Great location and service. Pan Pacific is right in the middle of a bunch of attractions and very close to Waterfront station. You can take the Canada Line from Vancouver airport to Waterfront Station (about 35 minutes from the airport to Waterfront station, be mindful, the return train heading to the airport alternates its destination. Every other train goes to the airport while the other goes to...
I booked this hotel for my son and my daughter-in-law for their honeymoon as a gift to them. I was so impressed with the service that my son and my daughter-in-law received. The staff fulfilled all my requests; and all our communication was over the phone. They were very polite and helpful. I requested if my son and his wife could have an ocean view suite; and some chocolate and fruit delivered to...
Best view in town and perfect location, but far from luxury customer service. Rooms are dated and tired. We had a clogged shower w/months of hair and other gunk which caused water to back up several inches. Maintenance was sent and all he did was leave disgusting reminisce on the tub and in our trash can. Shower continued to back up, so I went to the front desk and they sent another maintenance...
had an incredible stay at this amazing property! From the moment arrived, we received service like we haven't experienced in decades! The historical tour of the hotel was amazingly interesting and encouraged us to see more than a typical resort stay would allow. The property was pristine and our stay was amazing. Our spa experience was top notch. Dining at 1888 was our favorite of the trip. The...
Been coming to this hotel for weekend getaways for a while now and will be coming back again and again. The hotel and the spaces are older but we love the large suites and open spaces and the updates they've been doing to her. I adore the drapes. The fresh air vents integrate in the room are excellent! I'm an architectural detail nerd. Room service...uh could be better but there's decent food downstairs...
Room was awesome with views of city and ocean. Service was great as we needed a couple personal items. Outdoor hot tub in winter is an interesting experience. Food options were nice too. Only complaint is the gym is hard to get to from your room.

The hotel overall is a beautiful property. AJ at the front desk and the trainee gentleman at the lobby bar were extremely courteous and friendly. The room was beautiful, spacious, and comfortable, and I enjoyed the view of the water. The pool area was nice but disappointed the bar service closed by the time I got there.
Great location if your going on a cruise as cruise terminal across from hotel. Staff very accommodating with all requests. Rooms clean and everything works, gym is big enough to share with others and plenty of equipment. Pool area is roof top and spa. Very quiet hotel. Walking distance to major landmarks and your on the harbour so views are amazing.
Not a 4-star experience. Nice location, nice bar and restaurant, but the most important part of any hotel should be the beds. Our room had full size mattresses on queen size frames. The mattresses on both beds were rounded so you felt like you were rolling out the whole night. My six year old did fall out in the middle of the night, and it was lucky he missed the corner of the nightstand with his head...
Perfect spot for posting up before a cruise. You board the boat immediately across the street. Very convenient. Great hotel with great views. Service has been solid. There are a ton of great places to eat, walk to, or bike to immediately from the hotel.
The lobby is very clean and luxurious but that doesn't extend to the extraordinarily average rooms.
You'll get a scenic view if you pay for it but it doesn't justify the cost. Found out after that parking isn't included which just added to the expense.
The service was awesome and friendly (but anything to do with room service is frightfully slow)
We got married here in May and the service we received was amazing.
We had such an amazing time and the hotel staff were so awesome. We were taken care of so well and were looked after the whole night.

The location was ideal for accessing Canada Place, very close to the Sky Train station and within easy reach of Robson Street.
Really good location for the cruise terminal. Staff very friendly and welcoming. The refrigerator in the room (1212) was very noisy.
Had a second stay here after our cruise. Had a much better room this time (1007). Again staff were just so helpful and even loaned me a baggage scale to make sure our cases did not exceed or baggage allowance.
Very beautiful spot. Easy access to food, w oceanic views. Pub for food opens @ 11:30am. No breakfast. But the swimming pool/gym/hot tub/sauna all male up for not having a breakfast menu. The pillows are buttery soft, and even sleeping on the pull out mattress was very comfortable. It was really a great spot to lay my head
The hotel’s location is basically perfect. Just a couple blocks from the train station and Canada place. We arrived late, after 21:00, but the receptionist was very courteous and polite. I'm a solo traveler and this was perfect. Is located at the harbour front within a 10 min walk to the train.
The harbour facing suite was worth the view. The room was clean for the most part and the service was great. It's a small bathroom without a tub but I didn't mind.

Loved the ethos of Skwachays. Staff very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed communal spaces and meeting other guests.
And loved vibe of the neighbourhood.
Stayed here to support local artists, but it is not managed very well. Do yourself a favor and don't bring a car. You have to park in a garage behind the ally. It's very small..we could not avoid scraping our car. Someone at the desk has to open the gate coming and going, so you have to stop, go in, and ask for someone to open the gate....wait, then drive in. Same for leaving. We returned our car...
I love the concept behind this hotel, which is why we booked our stay here. The rooms are clean, the staff was helpful, but the hotel and room were dark, not much natural light, so it felt a bit stuffy. Also, the area is shady, with homeless people and druggies around. They say the area is safe, but we just didn’t feel comfortable walking there. The streets also smell of urine. I wish this place was...
The Skwachàys Lodge is a nice place to stay in Vancouver. The room was amazing and the staff is super nice.
The location is tricky: very close to Water street which is full of restaurants and shops but also very close to a zone full of homeless. We were astonished but in the whole three days we never had a single issue, not even at night.
The room that we stayed in was clean, beautiful and it smells good. It was like a gem nestled in China Town. The people are friendly and thorough and gave us a tour where we can find everything in the hotel. We enjoined the sauna and arts gallery. We really recommend it!!
We loved the cool decor in the rooms. The folks there are great! Breakfast was simple and tasty. Loved the art work!
Neighborhood can be sketchy after dark because of zombie addicts, but that is a big city problem all around.

Overall just okay. The room was quite dated but for the most part clean, nothing quite impressive. During our stay the water was out for a couple hours which was annoying. Given this building is 100 years old, I am overlooking a few things that could use some updating. What I absolutely cannot get past, nor understand, is paying $700 for 2 nights. There is NO REASON for it.

It's clean and the location is good. But certainly it does not live up to the expectation. The building is old and it has clearly not being renovated in a long time. Rooms are not only small, but tiny. Staff at the desk is very helpful and friendly.
Room was very small, barely enough space to move around. Room did not have a safe, and front desk safes are not big enough for laptops or tablets, so beware. Elevator had issues. On the plus side, the bed was comfortable and the pillows were firm.
On the main drag per say in Vancouver, not a far walk from major attractions such as the steam clock, Canada place, etc. Need a key card to access the front door- once checked in
Elevator was broken all weekend so they put us on the second floor in a super small room where the heater didn't work. Second room on the same floor was much bigger and the heater worked. Clean bed. No view. Close to everything including the seabus. Would stay here again but on a higher floor to get a view. Staff are all very nice. The free breakfast is enough to get the day going.
An average hotel. Little bit shabby. Clean bathroom. Helpful staff. Good location for Gastown. Short ride from the airport.
the people that worked there were really nice and helpful. the location is great as there is easy access to public transportation and there are lots of restaurants and cafes nearby. also, there is an open 24/7 convenience store just on the corner! the hotel itself is cute, breakfast is great, and i really liked this place

Delighted that we could check in early. Our flight back to UK was cancelled so booked this hotel last minute. 3pm check in however we got to hotel at 10am and room was ready 5 mins later. Could not ask for more!
This hotel is so great! The location is unbeatable, as is the price. I am old and asthmatic, so I worried about a 4th floor walk up hotel room, but I was fine! And I worried about a shared bathroom, but it really wasn't an issue - and I pee a lot. I never had to wait for a toilet, and there is a sink in the room. The staff was friendly and accommodating and helped us bring all our gear to our room...
I really enjoyed my stay at the Victorian! The rooms are very clean, bright and beautiful, the staff are super friendly, and the location is central! Only downside is the parking is a bit of a trek away with suitcases in tow, and it's damn near impossible to get out of! I'd recommend offloading your suitcases before going to park.
Great location to services and a very modern take on a classic building. Rooms are beautifully laid out with high ceilings, wooden floors and walk in robes. Very plush and comfortable bed as well.
Staff were friendly and accommodating, ensuring my stay was fabulous and relaxing. A nice late check-out of 11am as well!
We really enjoyed staying here. The shared bathroom situation was easy considering we had a sink in the room.
The hotel has so much character and is close to all things down town Vancouver. The allowed us to drop off our bags after flying in but before check in. This aloud us to walk the city and explore with out our luggage. Highly recommend.
Excellent location, helpful and friendly service. Rooms are a little small, fine for one person though. Shared bathroom was large, modern and clean. Never had any issues with sharing. Plenty of fresh towels etc. Room bit noisy which is unfortunate (other guests being loud late at night).

Emma (I think her name was?) at front desk was very helpful and so kind! They gave us a choice upon check-in of 1 King bed or 2 double beds and that was a nice touch. Everyone was always asking us about our day and that was lovely. :)
Very nice hotel in a great location. Staff are friendly. Valet parking (underground) is available at 38 CAD per 24 hours (2023 price). Can reach most places downtown by foot. Suite slightly small & sofabed not too comfortable. Air conditioning is good but a tad noisy. Overall, a pleasant stay.

The staff were wonderful. We had a problem with our dry cleaning (not the hotel’s fault) and they were very understanding & helpful in sorting it out.

The only disappointment was the wine list at the bar. They feature wines from BC, but nothing from the premiere wine areas.
Real nice downtown hotel. Mostly business travel type hotel but it is a nice location. The staff is all very friendly and professional. There is a small pool/hot tub and gym here. They upgraded me as a globalist member to a bi-level suite which is amazingly nice.

I especially wanted to point out that Ben was very helpful to us during our trip. He answered several questions for us throughout our stay and gave us some wonderful recommendations that were really helpful in making our vacation so memorable.

All in all we...
This hotel is amazing. Beautiful rooms and decor, comfortable beds, very clean, modern, and the deep soaking tub was a great plus. Every single staff member I interacted with during the 4 days I was there was so helpful and kind. They were able to accommodate an earlier check-in, and also upgraded me to a larger room that had a stunning view towards coal harbour. The two restaurants in the hotel are...
A very nice higher end hotel. Not what I'd call luxury but clearly that is the image they are trying to have.
Room and common areas are very clean, well appointed and in excellent repair. Technology is impressive. Views are nice, even from just the 8th floor.
Our complaints are 1. A lack of toiletries in the bathroom (one small bottle of lotion) and 2. The "pool". Advertised as "closed for maintenance...
We really enjoyed our room and the hotel is modern, clean and in a perfect location. We got the king suite that had its own balcony, heated Flores and plenty of room with amazing views! The staff was incredibly friendly and very helpful. I can’t give it 5 stars though because the pool and nightclub were closed that weekend and they were filming a show so the bar was closed for a day. I wish we were...
Absolutely best.
Room design is nice, cozy, new and staffs very friendly and professional.
Complimentary coffee and teas too.
It might seems insignificant, but it sure elevate the class of the hotel.
It provide services, comfort for the guest while staying there. And that is utmost important.
For me, i wont remember how beautiful a hotel room was after i left, but i surely will always remember the...

Great location central to Vancouver attractions. A short walk to the waterfront. In the heart of the upscale shopping district. Classic older property with all the charm that comes with that as well the limitations. Extremely limited counter space in the bathroom. Step in tub. Nice walk in closet. Front desk personnel very friendly but why is it so hard to get a copy of the final bill...still don...
I stay in Vancouver somewhat regularly for vacations and decided to try the Fairmont vs my usual stay at the Shangri-La. I walked away impressed and under a clear understanding that this is a well-managed property. While this is one of the few places I have no status (darn!), my family was still treated fabulously. I noted in the reservation that it was my sister’s birthday and they had desert and...
Really good location and great, helpful staff. Check-in/out took minutes.
The room was mostly okay. There was no bathtub in the room which was unfortunate considering there's also no hot tub, so no place to soak after a long day of walking. The A/C worked fine but it was in F, with no obvious way to change it which was annoying. The window was small, so not a lot of light and the walls are pretty...
We had booked two deluxe rooms for 4 nights! The booking process was incredible and the lady on the phone provided me all the available options while taking advantage of the caa discounts. The dogs at the front desk are sweet hearts (only saw one of them when we went). centrally located with everything in walkable distance and some high end stores located in the building as well. Concierge was excellent...
This is a beautiful hotel the rooms are clean but a little basic. The bathrooms are very small. Great location. The lobby is beautiful. There was hair in the bathroom which was a little off putting. My issue is when check in is at 3pm they should have rooms ready. You shouldn’t have to wait when it’s after 4pm to check in. I expected more from this hotel. Customer service at the front desk could use...
Over the top Super ritzy Hotel. All the brand new Gucci Etc stores in the lobby. Great restaurants. The rooms are being remodeled so they are up to date. The hotel overall is built in the early 1900s but they've done a good job in renovating. The pool is awesome and most of the staff are friendly. It's a pretty cool experience to be there
Room/ mostly bathroom was small, what makes the hotel so beautiful on the outside, gives you such small windows inside

Very neat and clean.
Unfortunately no aircon and relatively small bed. Overall good stay if you consider location and price compared to all the other hotels around the area.
Accommodation prices in Vancouver are eye-watering, and this is one of the cheaper options in the central city. I found the service exceptional and the highlight of my visit. The shared bathroom wasn't the issue I thought it might be - I was always able to access it when needed. The room was clean and tidy, but pretty basic and very warm. The supplied fan didn't quite hit the mark for a hot June night
Great location. Rooms are super clean for being over 100 years old. I heard some rooms have shared bathrooms but ours had it's own. The people running the hotel were all really great. Very friendly and helpful. There was no air conditioning which was fine in may, but possibly could be hot in August. Location was central to everything we wanted to do in downtown. Restaurants nearby were fantastic.
Stayed 1 night for Roger's event. Cute little funky place. Room was as advertised and clean AF. Sad to see them closed?
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The area was awesome, accessible to a lot of places (restaurant, groceries, transit). The hotel itself is clean and has a very 90’s feel decor. The rooms are small but it did the trick for a one night stay. A quiet neighbourhood. I am not a fan of shared washroom, but they keep theirs very clean. Would definitely recommend this place to someone who is...
We loved this place. The rooms are very small and simple, have shared bathrooms and showers (it was built as a boarding house in the early 1900s, so picture that), with no TV...and we loved it. Amazing location especially for the price! Our room and the shared bathrooms were meticulously clean. Staff was kind. The free breakfast in the small front room looked adorable. It was infinitely charming. If...

Very small room, but comfortable beds and pillows. The baseboards in the room were dirty, and the towels had grit and hairs in them. The TV had lots of channels and streaming options which was nice to watch and relax between outings. It was close to everything we wanted. Usually an Uber to anywhere we wanted was about $13, but transit is an option too for those who prefer that
I really liked that this hotel is focused on giving back to the community, and even its key card was wooden to reduce the amount of plastic used. I had booked 2 nights but due to flight changes, I informed them I could only stay the second night. On arrival very early in the morning, reception kindly let me check in then as my room was ready - this was very much appreciated after my long 14hour flight...
The hotel was very well located and provided affordable parking. We found that it was significantly cheaper than surrounding properties and offered good value. We enjoyed spending some time on the outside terrace on the 11th floor. On-site washing and drying machines were appreciated. It takes some time to get used to the concept of having a shared bathroom with the adjacent room.
This place was such a steal! You are right downtown (right across from BC Place).
The staff was so friendly and check in was smooth.
The hotel room we got was a single queen with a private bathroom and the room was beautiful! Freshly renovated, it had a ton of space for us, and the bed was so soft! (Felt like a cloud) We also had a fridge.
The shower and bathroom are great, the shower was walk in...
Nice clean bright room with a great view. Hotel prices in Vancouver are crazy high right now so this was pretty good value for a central location. We went for a Whitecaps game so very handy for BC place. Highly recommend they have a kitchen as well for prepping your own food. Highly recommend for short or longer stay. Will return for sure.
Beds are comfy, pillows are fluffy and wifi is strong and free! Directly across from BC Place, around the corner from Rogers Arena and a few blocks from the Entertainment District!!

We were very lucky to be upgraded to a suite so we were super comfortable with a sitting room and an outside deck. The amenities, the bar and dining room were very good. The staff were excellent and so helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others staying in Vancouver
Great boutique high end hotel. Service and location outstanding. Beds comfortable and room is clean. Nice bathroom s. Balcony was great to enjoy the beautiful weather. Cafe Medina next door is Michelin rated and off the charts. Locals tip: Vancouver Public library is 3 minutes away. On a nice day, take a beverage and book to the roof top and read amidst a rose garden.
Absolutely amazing, loved staying here. The nicest boutique hotel I have ever stayed and the staff were so friendly to approach and always happy to help. Great location to get around town.
This hotel is fantastic. The patio was huge, the bathroom had a deep soaking tub, a relaxing rainfall shower with very good hot water and pressure and the toilet is in a separate room from the tub/shower/sink. The high tea at their restaurant was SO GOOD and worth the price. There is no ice machine/snack machine or microwave in room which was fine because the location is right by tons of restaurants...
They let us check in a couple hours earlier and gave us a much unexpected upgrade! Staff was wonderful in the lobby and in the restaurant as well, the room was nice and cozy, super clean (I’m a clean freak) and both the room and the towels didnt smell like harsh chemicals which I loved. Super walkable to some of the tourist spots and lots of restaurants and cafes. 10/10 will stay here again next time...
The finest hotel I have ever had the pleasure of staying. Staff is impeccable. The room is spacious and well appointed. The bathroom is huge with a separate WC. Good ventilation on all four rooms. It's super quiet, just an awesome place. If I could give 10 stars, I would. I was not compensated in any way for this review
