Motel 6-Peterborough, ON

We checked in, the guy at the front desk was nice. We asked for a room with one queen bed, but when we got to the room, it was 2 doubles instead. There was a mini fridge and microwave. However the room was disgusting. There was debris/food on the floor. There was black residue on top of the wardrobe. The clock and phone were on the ground under the bed. We went back down and asked for another room. It was cleaner, but it didn’t have a fridge/microwave, and it was a struggle to get a room key that worked for the door. Do not recommend this place. It’s worth it to spend the extra money and stay somewhere else, even if just for a night.

This hotel is very congruent with its rating and its reviews. There is nothing terrible about the hotel, yes it's a bit run down and rooms and washrooms could use a make over. They are very friendly towards pets which is great.
Then reason i am giving such a low score is because of the following. My wife, I and my elderly parents stayed 1 night, 2 rooms, and for a reason that still is beyond me, at around 12 am when we were sound asleep someone working the night shift decided to call our rooms(both) because, according to this person, there was a "glitch " in their system and wanted to check our names?!! 12 am! And not to mention that the phone rings like a fire alarm, my wife and i both jumped out of the bed, it scared the soul out of us just to answer the phone and being told the before mentioned!. Who in their right mind think is a good a idea call a guest at 12 am "just to check " the names?!!! This totally disrupted our sleeping and it was so hard to fall sleep again and we had an early departure, totally ruined our night. Next morning i learned they also called my parents! When i brought this issue to the morning staff they had no idea what had happened, no one could give us a satisfactory explanation and i told them i had to write this review. They did nothing to try to compensate the bad experience. They need to try harder!

Stayed a night for my partners business trip. And all I can say is awful. When we got here they sent us to a room that room service hasn't been to the bedding in that room was on the floor. When mentioned to the stay at the front desk we were met with snarky remarks from the two men at the desk as "well it says the room is ready" etc. then they asked for my partners credit card to put on file even tho they already have the companies card and we asked multiple times why and they avoided the question. We eventually just gave in which I feel as we will regret. When got to current room the bed was at least made but the walls were all grimey and curtains were stained and room had odd smell and the mini fridge was gross.

So, we booked Motel 5 because it was dog friendly, and we'd had great service at this franchise in other provinces. We learned that you get what you pay for. We walked into our first room, the comforter was dirty, the sheets were dirty, and the floors were dirty. We politely asked for another room. We were given one. IT HADN'T EVEN BEEN CLEANED. The beds were unmade, and toilet paper was all over the room. So needless to say, we asked for a refund and we got it and left. The young lady at the desk was very accommodating but didn't seem too phased about what was going on which unfortunately makes me think this is a normal thing.
We noticed the floors throughout the building were dirty, there was what looks like human snot on the elevator walls.
Needless to say, you get what you pay for when it comes to hotels, and I wouldn't advise people to stay here. Ever.

I stayed here 1 night for roughly $150. To be frank, I want a refund and they could not pay me to ever stay in this motel again. I can NOT stress this enough, listen to the many reviews this place has. It is NOT worth a single night.

I think I managed 1 hour of sleep all night because of the insanely hot temperatures in the room (even with the window open as much as it can be opened) and the noise from neighboring guests and people in the halls (paper thin walls). When I asked the front desk for a different room because the air-conditioning doesn't seem to be working they told me all the rooms would be the same because the air conditioners do not turn on at all if the outside temperature is 10 degrees or less (why that would regulate the comfortability within the building is beyond me).
