Prince Rupert, 222 1st Avenue West 🧭 Map
The Hotel itself is nice, very old school feel. The room smelled musty, like old cigarettes, hence the 4 star for the room. It was feint, but present. Overall an exceptional stay, will return 😃
I stayed in the suite on a family trip, and it was fair considering the price. It provided us with a comfortable spot to rest, plenty of space for family to meet, and a great ocean view. In my opinion, the crest is easily the best place to stay in Rupert.
In the limited options of Prince Rupert, Crest Hotel stands out, but the 4-star rating feels a bit generous; more like a 2 or 3-star place. While the staff is friendly and rooms clean, it's undeniably dated, perhaps benefiting from comparisons to nearby hostels. The parking is limited, and the street view is unattractive. However, given the scarcity of alternatives in Prince Rupert, it might be the...
The service is immaculate, kind and attentive. I had the hot cakes, they were soft but not soggy even with the berry compote. Best hot cakes I’ve had. The view is beautiful. Mucho wildlife to witness.
The chair is comfortable. The temperature is great (my body temp regulates slowly, sitting by the window is great for me)
10/10 recommend. I bet sunsets are beautiful here.
I wasn't looking for a room, I was actually looking at the menu for the restaurant. I was looking for lobster tails. I was feeling lazy and wanted someone to cook. None on the menu, as a chef, I am quite particular about where I eat and what I eat. It's a popular place just not what I was looking for.
What a beautiful place and gorgeous view. We even had an anniversary card waiting while we stayed. Highly recommend the sea view. Totally worth it.

Clean, modern rooms and friendly and helpful staff.
The “breakfast” left a little to be desired (literally just waffles or bagels and muffins). Overall a great budget hotel and I would happily stay here again!
We had an early vet appointment in Rupert, (from Terrace) I was happy to hear you had some pet friendly rooms with a small pet fee. The room was very comfortable, the staff was amazing and super friendly, we even got a call once settled to make sure we liked our room.
The view wasn't great as it overlooked the side roof with metal vents, with a teeny tiny view of the water lol.
The breakfast was fair...
From the outside it looks unpromising and drab, however, the inside is a different story and I was pleasantly surprised. The lobby and room were clean and updated. The breakfast had a great variety and was opened early enough for those taking the ferry to port hardy to grab a bite to eat before heading to the ferry to check in by 6 am. The service was great. Everyone was attentive and professional...
Friendly staff at check in and a large room with a view. My room was clean and had all the amenities I required. I'm booking here again on my next trip to Prince Rupert.
I stayed here because the free airport shuttles leave from the front door. I had alot of heavy bags that would require a cab from another hotel or motel to this hotel in order to catch the shuttle which has to take a ferry to the island Airport.
The staff are very helpful and truly interested in making your stay hassle free. I even received a welcome phone call to the room after I settled in, asking...
Staff and management are courteous, helpful, and knowledgeable. Rooms and amenities are well maintained and plentiful. The only observation I have that would benefit the overall experience would be the addition of grab bars in the bathtub. Speaking of the bathtubs, they have larger than usual tubs, which makes a nice long soak relaxing. You should stay here when in Prince Rupert!

Pillsbury Guest House
Prince Rupert, #1 Pacific Place on Bill Murray Way 🧭 Map
We visited Prince Rupert in July 2019, but unfortunately we did not stay in this heritage guest house. I discovered it on one of my morning walks along the Waterfront walking trail nearby. The red coloured building overlooks the harbour and has a fantastic view. It is supposed to be the first residence built in Prince Rupert in 1908 for the supervising engineer, J.H. Pillsbury, working for the Grand...
A lovely quirky venue, a fantastic host and a superb twist in the story. This is an experience not to be missed.
This was the bed and breakfast we stayed in. The Pillsbury Guest House. Our hostess, Colleen McGillicuddy McLaren was fabulous. This was our first stay in a B&B and Colleen made it memorable. From our first morning of a 3 course breakfast, to the history of the Pillsbury House and Prince Rupert , to the entertainment Colleen provided which included singing three Edith Piaf songs, all helped to make...
Awesome - stay for the beautiful and authentic house, stay for the location (waterfront), stay for the views, and most of all, stay for conversation with Colleen - she is a gem, knowledgeable, and a fantastic cook. Everything is authentic and mainly original but with all modern conveniences. I had the best sleep, the best breakfast (including the best unlimited coffee), and the best B&B experience...

The rates are very good, especially if you're on a medical trip. Great people on the front desk. Excellent service. Clean . Some of the beds are getting pretty lumpy though.. and the fans are very noisy. They will wake you up if you hadn't planned on getting it
I have never stayed in the rooms however we book all our contractors to the hotel and they feel like home. Clean, friendly, lovely on site restaurant. It should be a 4 Star rating. All my dealings with bookings have been expeditious and professional.
I was stranded in prince Rupert as my ferry was cancelled for 4 days unexpected I had very little money and iam not from bc ,, my husband was in camp hours away and I had two huge dogs this place accommodated me and my furry family they assured me I was safe and we’d figure stuff out as the days went on the people just became more helpful Thankyou for your beautiful support!!! I will always come back...
We moved here from the Prestige. Very bad experience at the Prestige, but the Pacific was top notch. Friendliness and cleanliness was awesome. We were treated like we were welcome compared to being treated like criminals at the Prestige hotel. This is the only place we'll stay.
Great spot! We had been unceremoniously evicted from a hotel down the road (starts with P and ends with restige) for having a cat instead of a dog for a pet and this hotel was happy to accommodate us. We were upset by how we had just been treated at the other place and grateful to be treated with kindness by the staff at The Pacific. We went from being out on the street with our pet and not knowing...
The only reason I gave this place a 3 is because of the staff. They were super friendly and helpful.
The Inn is very dated and needs an overhaul. The sink in our room looked like it was going to fall off the wall. The room itself was clean but the drapes were worn and had a couple of holes.
There was a water advisory on when we stayed but we were provided with bottled water free of charge. The Continental...

Excellent atmosphere the bed was comfortable and the staff was pleasant and a quick check in and check out. Breakfast was great! The view was perfect.
Myself and some colleagues recently stayed here for work purposes. We really enjoyed the quaintness of the hotel, Cindy took very good care of us, upgraded our rooms which was amazing as the view was breathtaking. The breakfast was awesome and we were greeted with happy/friendly service.
I would definitely stay at this hotel again if ever in Prince Rupert.
A big thank you to CINDY for going above...
Overall great location with some renovations and upgrades. The bathrooms are a bit out dated but otherwise the rooms feel refreshed. Comfortable beds. Great friendly front desk service. My only complaint was the tv was mostly digital with very few channels working.
A great experience from check-in to check-out. Nice view of the harbor, ships and boats. Breakfast in the morning was great. Walkable to many restaurants and stores. Great check-in process after arriving at 1AM on BC Ferry. Would stay here again.
Ran out of eggs. Don’t have granola. Location was excellent except for the dump place by you. Excellent bed. Because we got a good deal, and the view was amazing, it was worth the money
Very nice clean rooms. Staff are amazing and friendly. Yummy breakfast in the morning. Thank you guys

Great people and very accommodating. I had a pet friendly room and everyone treated both me and my dog with nothing but kindness and respect.
Stayed here many times in over 30 years. Great on a budget. Rooms are comfy n clean. Great new murals on the building.
An older hotel, but the beds were comfortable and the room was clean.
Front desk staff were awesome when I checked in, but the gentleman when I checked out was just on his phone and didn't look up or acknowledge me until I spoke up.
Was nice to have a parking lot attached to the building!
Excellent service from the hotel front desk (Nero)!
Good central location. Fun pub / lounge below the hotel.
Walk-in cooler for fish storage if you are fishing.
Rooms are renovated and clean.
4th floor rooms are hot in summer but they have plans to install A/C units.
The only con to this hotel was the lack of air conditioning. But you only need AC in Rupert for like 2 weeks out of the summer so it's not the biggest deal. The room was comfy and clean, and had the best view of the inlet and sunset. Close to everything you could need, and a 10 minute drive from the ferry. Parking lot is well lit and covered so you dob'rlt get rained on, and they have really nice plants...
Was concerned after reading the negative reviews but this was the only availability for the one night we were in Prince Rupert. This is an older establishment but was clean and comfortable. There is no AC nor screens but there is a fan and our third floor east facing room was pleasant. Some of the west facing rooms kept their doors open a facilitate cooling. We would stay again.

Very cute, affordable, and clean. My first time staying in a hostel and was nervous about sharing washrooms but there's 3 on the second floor and were nice and clean. Rooms are a little small but the duvet and pillows were super cozy. Walls are thin and you can hear everything on the hallway but other guests were quiet and considerate. I would stay again!
It was very a very clean room. I could not figure out the buzzer and thought I was not going to get in for my reservation as there was no clear instruction on the door as to what to do. Apparently, you press the buzzer and staff has to drive to the door at night to let you in as they had gone home, and they wear an alert which they have to respond to. Hmmm. Maybe they need a new system, because the...
Cool place with a hostel-like feeling.
It's nice to have a shared kitchen, and they also have private suites.
The rooms with the shared bathroom are quite small but still worth it. Nice location next to the sunken gardens and the cozier part of town.
Always so clean, staff is welcoming, it's affordable, and it's cozy. Perfect place to stay for a day or a week!
One of the cleanest best run hostels I've been to, with the very best kitchen. Really attractive space, wonderful books, convenient location, and a really flexible staff in accepting a passport as security in lieu of a credit card on file.
