Hotel Herzog Heinrich

The hotel was ok but it was very hard to communicate with the staff they spoke no English or very little German, the room was clean but the bed was very hard and very uncomfortable also the pillows were like diapers, dinner was a joke we ordered burgers and they were very small like made for kids and not much other varieties on the menu. We just left a day prior to check out because we where disappointed in the whole Hotel.

WARNING FOR CELIAC/ ZÖLIAKIE Despite calling the hotel before our arrival, speaking directly with reception and the cook upon arrival, writing details on the daily menu card, regarding my need for gluten free food, the competence of the entire staff is clearly lackadaisical and uneducated about gluten free foods and the dangers of cross contamination. I became violently ill after breakfast from gluten contaminated food. I called reception to ask to speak to management, to send housekeeping to my room,and please bring me a bottle of water. Their response demonstrates complete and utter disdain toward the guests and my situation. Housekeeping arrived and was great, I never got the water I requested, my husband went to REWE for drinks. And most importantly, I NEVER GOT A RESPONSE FROM MANAGEMENT/OWNERS after 2 requests. That in itself says the most.
Regarding the hotel itself : Beds are extremely hard, the dining area is loud like a train station, there is no clear map and it’s very difficult to navigate, the pool areas are extremely small for the size of the hotel, I was told there would be 3€ charge for gluten free food, I travel extensively and never in my life saw this, this borders discrimination against the handicap of Celiac, when also in fact I ate LESS than the normal guest. There is no shampoo in the rooms, only a tiny soap dispenser. I was unable to use the sauna, but apparently they do not even open until 12:00 ! this is a wellness hotel ! The rooms are far away from everything, it's like navigating a rat maze. Also we passed by the dog hall, it reeked of dog smell ! Even if you allow dogs it still should not stink! First time I ever saw this in my life. Another first, is check out at 10:00. They cut corners on everything and it shows.
By the way this was for my birthday and wedding anniversary. But that doesn’t matter, they don’t care anyway. NEVER AGAIN

Prior to booking the Spa landscape was great with the year-round heated outdoor pool with a whirlpool are praised and then days after booking, the succinct message that is not in the booked period. So holidays are not Fun...

The Hotel is located in a beautiful area. The staff is very friendly! The Outdoor and indoor swimming pool incl. Hot tub are very nice. The Loungers by the Pool offer a perfect place for relaxation. That is the most positive impressions.
The rooms are outdated and the entire Hotel complex. The beds are unfortunately very small, and you notice when Sleeping the wood edge from the contributions. In the blackout roller blinds are very many holes, thus in the morning it is very bright in the room. The bathroom is Ok. Everything that you need to care. The balcony is very cozy.
The food is 90% of the pack(Convenience products) and tastes accordingly. Fresh fish is totgegart and the meat is always very dry. At Breakfast, the rolls are one day extremely soft and always the next day dry. For me, the rolls can be used for 2 days. The coffee is Ok. The scrambled egg is also made of the Tetra pack.
Finally, the free W-Lan. When you receive, one is thrown after 2 minutes directly out of it. Then you come in about 2 hours. Mobile data from the mobile phone are also very slow since we are in the middle of the nature. I think the bad Internet connection so bad, since it takes forever to get information for trips, travel times, etc.
Unfortunately, my visit is the first and last time in the Hotel.
