Where to stay in Dessau

Last minute booking whilst cycling through Germany. I had some anxiety about parking and storage of our bicycles. The hotel offers secure storage in their garage, anxiety sorted. Hotel was good with comfy beds and good service. Reasonably priced, would stop here again.

very convenient for me, great location. Con: parking situation is terrible! 15 Euro for damaged parking lot. Another Con: breakfast buffet 20 Euro for nothing. (Tip, go the next bakery and buy sandwich and coffee for under 10 Euro)

A special mention for Tobias who offered very good customer service as the Duty Manager. He was warm and friendly and tried his best to resolve issues. He organised a dinner booking at an external restaurant including the taxi booking.The curtains in the room were tatty and dirty. The water in the room was not replaced on our second day.Thank you.

The hotel is best located, 5 to 10 min walking distance from the main station, 10 min to the Bauhaus museum and 15 min to the Bauhaus building. The breakfast is super and serve continental food. The room are huge, clean and the service is good, friendly. Spa is included! The minus come from the repair status. I pay for 4 star Radisson Blu hotel and do expect higher frequency of modern up the hotel

Excellent hotel, friendly staff, good food and great location

Good hotel in excellent location, in the centre of Dessau with a very convenient underground car park (paid separately). Rooms are spacious and comfortable, however a little bit tired, for example a carpet in the room was stained. Generally the hotel is OK and I think I would stay there again.

Very good condition, good breakfast

We stayed here for a night before a day trip to a nearby area, and the hotel was better than we expected. Parking is free, pets are only 7 euros per night, and breakfast is a reasonable 10 euros. Room was very organized and spacious. Beds were super comfortable. Was elated to see that it came with a free mini bar and the other services outside of the room like the fitness room was great. Sound isolation needs work between rooms. Room service didn't provide new towels. Bathroom amenities might need some work in the soap variety department.

Had a very pleasant short stay in Dormero! The room was clean and spacious. There was a free mini bar in the room and free coffee in the lobby. Wifi worked excellently. At the same time, the price was surprisingly low. Can recommend this place!

One night stayover Very nice little hotel on the shore of Elbe. Beautiful located veranda on which had a beer before dinner. We ate dinner in the restaurant and the food was very good. The 7 Säulen is conveniently located opposite of the Meisterhäuser of Gropius, Kandinsky and Klee in a very quiet and green area of Dessau. The breakfast buffet was very good with lots of choices. In retrospect, I upgraded from 0 to 4 stars. Yes, the room is small (double bed), yes, there is no elevator, yes, the shower / toilet is in the hallway, but everything was clean (including TV remote control), there was enough parking space and everything was uncomplicated. Waht a pleasant surprise. Clean and modern, and with some unique art and decor. Staff extrelemy helpful and with recommendations for thigns to see and do in Dressau, like the Bauhaus Museum (the art and decor of the hotel were inspired by this). Parking nearby, but ask abotu what spots are OK for what hours. Not many restaurant options neary, but plenty in town.

Has everything you need. But for American standards it's missing AC. And a 24 hour vending machine would have been nice. But everything else is good.

Super nice family running a fantastic hostel. Homely furnished rooms, typical German simple breakfast. We are happy to help with a city map and tips for the best cycle route. There is WiFi in the rooms and requests are catered for. Would and will always go there again in Dessau.

Great little find in Dessau. I had a big double room with additional double sofa bed, very comfortable, clean and quiet. Nice building near the Elbe. I passed here on a walk. Looks nice and is close to the better known Kornhaus.

The Elbe Pavilion is located directly on the Elbe, not far from the Kornhaus, at the end of the Georgengarten. Prince Franz von Anhalt-Dessau had it built. It was used for flood protection. Today the pavilion can be rented for overnight stays and offers space for 2 people

Nice playground, nice environment, ideal for a bike break when you are traveling with children.

Very nice location for small to large events, from weddings to family celebrations, workshops, dance. Almost anything can take place here. The hotel rooms are tastefully and modernly furnished. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The staff is super nice and also adheres to the hygiene regulations.

If you value a special ambience and don't want to stay in the "08/15 Hotel", the Piesteritzer Hof is the right place for you! Beautifully located in a historic settlement about 10 minutes by bike from the center, a friendly and appealing room and, last but not least, friendly staff and a very committed, open and courteous boss. I made the reservation on the internet as I was heading to town. The lady at the front desk welcome me at my arrival with a beautiful smile. My room was clean and ready. They have a storage area for bicycles.

This is unique lodging, where the famous painter Lucas Cranach, lived and had his workshop in the time of Martin Luther. The biggest advantage is that the hotel bathroom window opens wide. It is not far from tourist attractions such as the Wittenberg Castle Church, and is an overall decent hotel. When using the parking lot, it is very inconvenient to push and pull the heavy, sooty iron bar and lock it.

Lovely little place to stay when you are visiting Wittenberg. Close to the centre of town, yet very quit and peacefull. The only downsides are no balconies nor parking spaces. Parking in town is cheap, though.

The hotel is in a great location with a pleasant atmosphere. The rooms were clean, though there was no air conditioning and the WiFi in the rooms was practically non-existent. On the plus side, the extensive buffet breakfast was excellent.

Great breakfast but noisy We loved our trip to Wittenburg which was a beautiful little town on the Elbe. This hotel was conveniently located, and the breakfast was great. I would probably stay somewhere else next time, only because the rooms were small and it was noisy next to the train tracks and main road and people would stand outside talking and smoking so it was hard to sleep with the window open

The staff was helpful but the hotel never left the 80's. Of real concern was a fire alarm on our first night there, total confusion and the fire department never did arrive. It's a good hotel for a night or two but it appears to be mostly for transient workers now. Again the staff was very helpful and friendly.

Good acomodation in the middle of the city

Location of the hotel in city center is ok but there is no parking place if you arrive late, small rooms are newly furnished and tidy, unfortunately something wrong was in my bathroom - the smell was disgusting.

Very nice place to stay after we rode our motorbikes from Krakow. We had no problems booking the room for four guys. Two rooms within one, quite unusual but fitted the bill perfectly. Very clean and tidy. I would recommend it to anyone who is traveling wanting an hotel.
