A nondescript hotel in a very quiet town. Rats and pipers everywhere (of course) and cubicle rooms have little style, but clean, good shower and good (hassle free, no cost) Wi-Fi

The hotel seems to be on the low end what Mercure can offer in their chain. There is good breakfast though.

Overall its a great place to stay with modern amenities. Perfect location as you can walk anywhere. Beautiful breakfast buffet. Restaurant is a bit pricey but has a nice atmosphere.

The breakfasts were also excellent. On our final day we had to leave very early to catch a train and breakfast was still provided even though it was much earlier than the stipulated hours

We spent four nights at the Hotel an Der Altstadt and the hotel cannot be faulted for cleanliness and order. The staff were particularly friendly and most of them spoke excellent English

Location bang close to town centre, armed with supplied map explored the historic town littered with 3/4 hundred year old buildings. Parking on site, what more do you need?

Irma Grese lived here a couple of days after her trial. Than went straight to the gallows. Her body rested in the courtyard of this prison- now hotel. I do not believe her body was exhumed

We went there as a couple with a dog, the welcome was fantastic. We could easly communicate as the personn at the reception could speak also French.

My wife and I stayed in the old town cradle on September 28th, 2021 during a bike tour on the Weserradweg. The staff was very accommodating. The room was clean and well equipped

An unbelievably good place to stay.

The staff was very friendly, we had two dogs with us- they treated the dogs with warmth and consideration. Breakfast was rich -there was food of all kinds. There is a parking lot in front of the entrance

My husband enjoyed the sauna that was open until 10 pm. There is a park located in front of the hotel you can walk there with dogs and play with the children there are trails and amusement facilities

I am definitely recommending to stay there. After a long day's drive we felt that we had arrived home thanks to the staff

Quite good for a night stay. It's not a very big hotel but still ok. Reception closes at 7 pm therefore in case you are coming afterwards contact hotel in advance. Parking is limited but you can park on roadside.

This hotel was delightful!!! It has been one of the cutest hotels we have stayed in! They had a crib prepared for us (we have 4 kids so that was SUPER helpful), chocolate on the pillows, the family room was huge and the people were delightful! We arrived very late (hazards of traveling with 4 small kids) we called they told us how to get into the building with a code, left the key for us, and greeted...

Just WoW! As a family with young children this hotel really suited us when traveling through Germany. We were traveling to Poland from the UK via the Hook Of Holland and needed a stay about 3/4 hours into our journey
