They made us an early breakfast when we needed it on a saturday. Nice rooms and temperature in The rooms. Good price and a beautiful enviroment.

The room was not perfectly cleaned. The breakfast was enough and good. The surrounding areas are nice.

We felt very comfortable, our room was very clean, but there was no handle in the shower. The breakfast buffet and the raw food menu in the evening were unbeatable.

Clean simple friendly hotel, one star here is far superior to what you'd expect anywhere else. Yes, the decor's a bit dated, but perfectly good. Breakfast was good, usual fare provided. Lovely visit.

Great location, great location for long walks with the dog. The center can be reached on foot in 10 minutes. Landlord and service great. We would come again. Only the final cleaning of the company could do better, at least the window front.

Very nice hotel nestled in the middle of nature and in a quiet location. Just a few steps to the Liebesbankweg and the forest. 500 meters to the stave church and the village. We had another wonderful family holiday in our favorite hotel! The operators are very cordial, open-minded and informal. Despite the current requirements, we had a normal everyday hotel life. In good memory. We are already looking forward to the next time :)

Excellent hotel. Very hospitable people. Think about routes. Nothing is too much. We have walked, beautiful surroundings. Never knew that the Harz is so beautiful. Hotel is definitely recommended. Creative solutions have been found to be corona proof. Nothing but praise.

We visited the restaurant. It was very authentic and cosy. As a Dane I would even describe it as ‘hyggelig’ 😄 We had the big schnitzel with mushroom. It was lovely and fairly priced 👌

Hotel with great price / performance ratio. The food was delicious. Of course, the rooms are older, but everything was clean. The staff is very friendly. Can't understand the negative reviews. For the price you can't expect a 5 star hotel. The location is ideal for hiking.

We stayed spontaneously here for a night with 2 children and our dog. Pleasant surroundings, 2 swim lakes makenup for the indoor pool being closed (covid regs). Food was more than okay for inclusive buffet. 100% satisfied with room and price.

Very, very nice owners who try to read your every wish from your lips. The rooms are well equipped, but getting old, but that doesn't matter. The breakfast is varied and delicious.

I found the hotel staff to be very friendly and helpful. I really liked the breakfast, but unfortunately the warm dishes (scrambled eggs, pancakes) were quite cold. The hotel is in a great location and there are plenty of parking spaces. The children's playroom is unfortunately pretty bleak. A room without windows. No nice wall decoration, furniture looks thrown together. Not a nice place for children...

My wife and I have visited this hotel twice in 7 years and we were very satisfied each time 😁. The service is good, the food is delicious and includes a good selection (half board). The rooms are nicely furnished, the beds are good - everything you need for a (short) vacation. Only the Harz itself has significantly fewer trees 🌲😕. Recommendation 👍👍

Very nice hotel right on the edge of the forest in a quiet location. We had a great room with a view of the Bocksberg. The nice employee at the reception and in the breakfast room fulfilled all wishes. The breakfast buffet was also great. Unfortunately the weather didn't play along, but we will definitely come back again.

We are totally satisfied. Had a junior suite. In the evenings in particular, we really enjoyed the couches. From the balcony we could see the Bocksberg. Breakfast is solid, rolls, eggs and everything you like. We'd love to come back.

I was here in september for a motor tour. Unfortunately the weather wasn't great, but the routes were! The Dutch owner who bought the place a year ago and the Italian chef are friendly and loves to hang out for a chat in the late hours. The room was well equipped and had access to the balcony. It was also great to get drinks from the fridge in the lounge for a fee. The division of the shower and the toilet is not successful. Shower is directly in the room and toilet in a small room. Anyone traveling with a dog must note that it costs extra, although this was not stated in the price to be paid. Perfect as a hiker for the Hexenstieg. Rooms are neat and clean. The breakfast is varied and plentiful. A little further down there is a pub with a good selection of beers.

Nice hotel in the center of Altenau. Run by two super nice and nice people. I just showed up spontaneously and got a room without any problems. The rooms are fine and adequately equipped for just staying overnight. Everything was very clean and the beds were comfortable. Room / price is fair.some rooms are renovated and nice, others rather old. As I tend not to spend too much time in my room I do not care much about it. I need a bed and a shower, that I had :-) The beds though are not comfortable much. Food, serivce and cleanliness is very good. A very nice hotel, but rather expensive. The steep room rate is to some extent countered by the quiet surroundings and the excellent food. The room wasn't large, the TV didn't work. Had it worked we wouldn't have enjoyed it, it's tiny. The bed was way too soft. The staff were very friendly.

Rooms are fine, location ok when you Need a place to sleep when travelling. But they Need to clean the tales after other guests brwakfast, not nice to look at messy tales when having breakfast

Nice, clean and quiet hotel with good parking and nice breakfast. Highly recommended. The couple who runs the hotel took very good care of us. Also perfect for anybody charging their Tesla as the charging station is literally a hundred yards away from the hotel. Beds are firm which we like so we slept very well here.

Located conviniently near the motorway. Good WiFi that also works in the room. Nice breakfast with a surprisingly nice view over fields and a little village.
