Cute hotel in a good location. The rooms are spacious, well-equipped, and clean. The parking garage is quite small and cramped, not really suitable for SUVs. Street parking is free from 6:00 PM to 8:00 AM.
The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Our four-night stay was very relaxing and flawless. Many thanks again to the hotel!

Very nice location and friendly staff. The room was ok but already worn out. The bathroom is very, very small and there is no shower for wide or handicapped people. And I think the price is very expensive and that without breakfast.

Had a lovely stay there for 2 nights.
Very friendly staff. I had a double room facing the inner courtyard with blinds.
The bed was a bit soft for me personally. And the bathroom, especially the shower cubicle, was very small. But there are worse things.
The breakfast is rich and fresh. Every guest gets fresh scrambled eggs (if they want). You can reach everything you need on foot.

Great location in the center of Saalfeld, decent albeit outdated rooms. I was almost too tall to stand in the shower/toilet box which was also a bit smelly. First time I’d ever seen a bathroom in a box. Bicycles can be securely stored in the basement/garage with limited access. Very friendly reception. Overall good value.

We have been there for four days for personal reasons and the hotel is quite old and not ready for disabled people. The hotel service is terrible. They didn't make the rooms and we found the bed to be made and the towels on the floor, we said so and they told us to put a sign on the door. The next day we put the sign on the door and they didn't do our room either. We had to be angry. Disaster

Pleasant hotel with nice rooms, really good beds and great breakfast. staff very friendly. On request you can get a packed lunch instead of breakfast, which I have never received anywhere else in this quality. The hotel offers a lot for little money. Recommendation!

We spent a week on vacation in Saalfeld and stayed here. The location as a starting point is perfect, as it is very central. Unfortunately, this means that the traffic noise from 6 o'clock forces the windows to be closed. Darkening by means of roller shutters is only possible in the comfort rooms. The budget rooms are very tight! The breakfast and the beds are ok, the service by the dedicated staff is very good. From my point of view, the biggest shortcoming is the condition of the components (doors, windows, bathroom), which, with their basic hardware store quality, don't have much to counteract the rough everyday life of a hotel. The price of €94 for the comfort double room gives hope for more. That and e.g. the dingy corner of the temple indicate that the management of the object has other priorities. One detail should not be kept secret: a free erotic channel is available on TV from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m.

I have now spent one night at the Hotel Tanne in Saalfeld. And I have to say that I don't understand some of the reviews. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are certainly a bit older but despite everything very clean and well-kept. The beds are very comfortable, not too soft and not too hard. The much criticized small bathrooms are really very small but in my opinion this should not lead to a point deduction as a normal grown person has enough space. I didn't use the breakfast buffet, but I still looked at it and I have to say that the price definitely justified it. The hotel's underground car park is very small and is currently used largely for storage, which further limits parking spaces. In my opinion, a little improvement would be possible at this point, but in my opinion that does not lead to a deduction of points.
