Hotel with a good and quiet location to the center, old town and fairy grottos are easily accessible on foot. We had a suite in the castle. The ambience was something special. We liked it very much. If you don't like something like that, you should book a room in the guesthouse. The breakfast was varied. There was enough parking space.

Lovely castle hotel with very friendly and warm service. The rooms and bathrooms are large. In the bathroom they have nice amenities: cotton balls, cotton swabs, hair dryer etc. the castle grounds have a playground for children, archery, and volleyball. I think the website does not do the place justice. Very nice and highly recommend.

Very nice restaurant above Saalfeld. Tasteful ambience. Beautifully arranged plates and while eating you can taste the love and skill of the kitchen. Guaranteed taste explosion on the tongue. Very warm service makes you feel good. If you want to eat well, you have to come here.

Very quiet location, friendly staff, the food was good but also nothing extraordinary. The price-performance ratio is okay. It was too traditional for my expectations. The ambience unfortunately leaves much to be desired. It all looks like from a bygone era and very old-fashioned. Restrooms were clean.

Not to mention the relaxing, quiet location in the forest and the lovingly furnished hotel and grounds: the team is genuinely friendly, courteous and attentive. Good hygiene with heart and mind. Particularly noteworthy is the extensive breakfast buffet with delicious dishes. Make sure you plan a lot of time to enjoy. We'll definitely be back.

We reserved a table for 4 people for lunch in good time. We received a very warm and friendly service from the staff. The drinks and the food came after a short wait. We rate the quality as very good, as well as the price / performance ratio. The location of the hotel / restaurant is idyllic, in the middle of nature. Thank you to all employees.

We've been in the restaurant with 2 small kids and it was a great experience. Staff was super friendly and patient. Food was delicious and we had a lot of space. Toilets are incredibly clean (always a good sign)

Stayed there on business for a longer period of time. The boss herself looked after the hotel herself during this time. We were welcomed in a friendly manner and our additional requests fulfilled at any time. Good quality WiFi was available in all rooms. The breakfast was right and it was paid attention to variety. Very nice location and friendly staff. The room was ok but already worn out. The bathroom is very, very small and there is no shower for wide or handicapped people. And I think the price is very expensive and that without breakfast.

Had a lovely stay there for 2 nights. Very friendly staff. I had a double room facing the inner courtyard with blinds. The bed was a bit soft for me personally. And the bathroom, especially the shower cubicle, was very small. But there are worse things. The breakfast is rich and fresh. Every guest gets fresh scrambled eggs (if they want). You can reach everything you need on foot.

We have been there for four days for personal reasons and the hotel is quite old and not ready for disabled people. The hotel service is terrible. They didn't make the rooms and we found the bed to be made and the towels on the floor, we said so and they told us to put a sign on the door. The next day we put the sign on the door and they didn't do our room either. We had to be angry. Disaster

Great location in the center of Saalfeld, decent albeit outdated rooms. I was almost too tall to stand in the shower/toilet box which was also a bit smelly. First time I’d ever seen a bathroom in a box. Bicycles can be securely stored in the basement/garage with limited access. Very friendly reception. Overall good value.

Pleasant hotel with nice rooms, really good beds and great breakfast. staff very friendly. On request you can get a packed lunch instead of breakfast, which I have never received anywhere else in this quality. The hotel offers a lot for little money. Recommendation!

Hotel location is very good as it is in city center. View from windows good, rooms are well enough big and clean. But beds are very hard and pillows not good. Threfore sleeping quality was not well

Beautiful old building with a perfect mix of modern comforts and old architecture. Friendly staff that are always happy to help. Breakfast had local produce that was delicious! If you get the chance to visit the restaurant Die Güldene Ganz downstairs do, the food is incredible and an expirience for your taste buds!

Probably the best address when it comes to hall fields Hotels. Best location, but more of a professional distance in dealing with guests. I prefer something warm.

A very nice family. Have adjusted completely to our wishes. A very good value for money. The sofa bed for our daughter was a bit old but basically okay. We will be back!!

We are on holiday in Saalfeld every year and we always eat at Weltrichs too. The house with tradition has one of the best kitchens in the area. Always open, always friendly, always tasty. If you don't eat here, you've missed something.

Nice hotel. All employees very friendly. Unfortunately a bit old-fashioned, so outside the hotel room. The room itself was very modern. Except for the door and the lock. Breakfast was okay, but nothing special. The eggs are made individually for each guest. That was very nice.

Great host, who even unpacks the wooden spoon on his day off and conjures up first-class schnitzel. Nice clean rooms including a good breakfast. Even our daughter's extra requests were not a problem and are fulfilled to the fullest satisfaction. We'd love to go there again!
