Schlo Petry in Treis-Karden

A beautiful hotel, the service is great, the rooms are super clean! We were there for a week and were super relaxed, the wellness and the food were amazing ❤️

This year, my stay at the Schloß-hotel Petry was a solo one. It was my tenth visit to this fantastic hotel. The tiny village of Karden on the banks of the Moselle is so beautiful and serene. In order to get away and decompress for a few days, I always like to begin my vacation in Germany here. For me, this family-run hotel is the perfect size. They have 70 rooms across 4 different accommodation levels, so you can easily select an appropriate price point. The included breakfast is quite extensive and offers a large selection of fresh breads, cold cuts, eggs (scrambled, soft boiled, hard boiled), sausage, bacon, cheeses, cut vegetables, fresh fruit, yoghurts, mueslis, dried cereals, jams, honeys, juices, and, of course, fresh strong coffee. I highly recommend booking your room with the 5-course dinner at the restaurant. It is a great value for such high-quality food and features locally sourced ingredients in traditional German dishes, as well as international recipes. They also have an adequate wine list that includes many options from neighboring wineries. The service is very professional without being uptight. The rooms themselves are very functional. I love the German bedding with individual comforters and no top sheet. The bathrooms can be small by American standards, because the room I stayed in is in an older building. Nevertheless, the fixtures are very modern and high quality, just be prepared that the shower can be a bit of a tight squeeze. Finally, the on-site spa is quite elegant and well-staffed. The long-time masseuse has recently retired, so this was my first massage with the new one. She did a excellent job and is a great replacement. (By the way, you may want to brush up on your German or have Google translate handy, because there isn't a ton of English spoken here.)

Despite my food intolerances, I always had great food. Breakfast and dinner were all excellent. I only informed the hotel about it once, on the day of my arrival. Great. My experiences at other hotels weren't as positive.

We spent a week at the Schlosshotel Petry. My wife suffers from celiac disease (gluten intolerance) and lactose intolerance. This wasn't a problem. She received appropriate food at both breakfast and dinner and therefore had no discomfort during our stay. Very exemplary and commendable. In general, the food was very good and delicious. The service was very attentive. Drinks arrived promptly and were refilled quickly. The hotel's location is ideal for hikers and cyclists. We set off on our tours both directly from the hotel and by train (the station is diagonally across the street). The wellness area is modern and beautifully furnished. There are two saunas and a steam bath. There is a relaxation room and a terrace, as well as an infrared cabin (somewhat hidden away). The massages were very soothing and highly recommended. There is a public e-charging station at the train station. It's a bit awkwardly placed, and it's recommended to bring a long, very long charging cable (otherwise, you'll have to maneuver in the parking lot and "park" in violation of the German Road Traffic Act to charge with a 5m cable). E-bikes can be parked in the underground garage and charged there for free. In summary: we were satisfied and have since recommended it to others.

Very beautiful preserved family hotel. It has a vintage and modern feeling. Excellent friendly service. Wellness area is clean and inviting after a nice sightseeing day an der Mösel. Convenient location, just few steps across the train station Treis Karden. Delicious breakfast and menu at the restaurant. Elegant ambience.

Literally 10 seconds to the station, in front of beautiful Mosel river. Food is great at the restaurant in the hotel. Very nice people here.

The hotel is located in a century-old castle. Unfortunately, the building is relatively old. There is no air conditioning or screens in the room. The comfort is not good. The location is convenient to the scenic spots, and the breakfast service is good.
