We were there at coffee time. We had to wait 10-15 minutes for the service to give us the first comb. At least 4 tables were not cleared, it took 25 minutes for the dirty dishes to be cleared away. We had wonderful days on the island as a family. After deprivation through the Corona period and serious illness, it was a gift for us. First and foremost, we are grateful to Hotel Gerken! A sea view suite right on the beach. You can hardly get closer to the North Sea! The suite was clean, tastefully decorated and even when you shower you can see the North Sea. Great place to go on vacation, right on the beach. A bit old, but very charming and absolutely clean. Courteous staff and beautiful, bright rooms. There was sun all day on our balcony. We'll definitely be back.

Unfortunately this house has been released for demolition. We are probably the last guests. It is a shame about the old seaside architecture and the charm that this house exudes. Even though, understandably, a lot of investments were not made due to the near end, we enjoyed our stay here.

We were there for a "rehearsal" in May, since we will be staying there with our wedding guests in August 23. This place is everything you need on an island. Firstly it has a very cozy atmosphere that just fits Wangerooge.
