Hotel Garbi

I loved the hotel and the facilities. It’s located in a beautiful hill, you can see the bay from the huge balcony, great for an early morning reading. It’s perfectly located close to the beach (7 minutes walk) and to the center of the village but in the middle of nature. We didn’t use the pool, I wish we had more time…
The breakfast was excellent, it had all we needed, fruits, coffee, pastries, salmon, charcuterie, fresh juice and we could sit outside.
Very friendly staff.
I will definitely come back when I come to Spain again!

It is a good hotel. Love the breakfast in the garden and the relaxing pool. Great stay. Climing the stairs from the city to the hotel is a job but i would stay there again cuase its great

Perched up above the town itself means that the views of Calella de Palafrugell are unrivalled compared to other hotels. This family run hotel is not state of the art (which I quite like!) but is spotlessly clean, with polite attentive staff and a laid back vibe that suited our 4 night stay.
It was pretty quiet too during our stay mid-June so that’s a big plus too.

Breakfast (included) was good and it was peaceful to be sitting under the pine trees having coffee and a selection from the buffet.

Our room, on the top floor, had the biggest balcony I’ve ever seen in a hotel room! With expansive views right across the town and down to the sea… quite spectacular!

The rooms are simply furnished and functional but the bed was too hard for our liking. A/C worked very well… handy when it’s 30+ degrees.

Given its location means that the elevation gain each day makes for a good work out! Not ideal for anyone with mobility issues, either getting to the hotel from the town or from the top floor to the breakfast room and pool area.

The pool is lovely and very quiet during our stay. I’d imagine this place gets pretty busy in season.

WiFi in the room was non existent but the 4G so good here it doesn’t really matter. It was fine once by the restaurant and pool area.
Overall, a nice enough hotel to make us think we’d return. Calella de Palafrugell is a beautiful place to come for a short break (or longer of course) and Hotel Garbi is a great value option.

Tremendous stay all round.

Good stuff:
- Breakfast was excellent. Better than expected and great for vegetarians. Very nice scrambled eggs, fresh tomatoes, avocado, loads of fruit, cereal, nice bread, coffee, juice etc. Eaten under nice big trees in the garden. Lovely!
- The grounds and pool are very pleasant.
- Great location - 8-10 mins walk to the beach/town. A big Spar four mins away. We got a taxi from Girona airport to the hotel which was about 50 mins and when we left a 15 min taxi to Palafrugell bus station.
- All the staff were lovely.
- Room was big and the balcony had a beautiful view. AC worked well.

A few small bits to improve:

- The mini fridge in the room was pretty warm and didn't make things cold.
- The bed wasn't particularly comfy, especially the pillows.
- Shower temperature occasionally went very hot or cold mid-shower.
- The WiFi in the room wasn't good. Not a problem for me as mobile data coverage was fine, but it wouldn't do if you're planning to work there.

Only small things though! Overall it was a great hotel and would happily recommend it.

Lovely hotel which is surrounded by a stunning and well kept garden. Additionally they have an amazing pool and jacuzzi with some cute cabanas. Due to my visit being off season, the restaurant was closed but their breakfast is amazing! The balconies with sea view don't have sun (late octobre) but the views were amazing and so is the staff that works here. Everyone is so friendly and helpful!

Decent hotel. Comfortable sleep. Unfortunately no extra blankets in the rooms. Facilities are ok, jacuzzy bathtube is a plus. Lovely breakfast but coffee could be tastier and could add some vegg.

Cute hotel with great views. Rooms are a little worn down, but everything is very clean. The walls are very thin, I heard our neighbours snoring. Breakfast was great, a lot of fresh fruit. Lovely garden and pool.

We were on a cycle tour holiday. I liked having a dip in the pool at the end of the days riding. We had a great room overlooking the beautiful gardens and across the bay, the room was a good size with bright pleasing design that resonated themes of the heritage of this fishing town. The restaurant was terrific, good breakfast.. and excellent value. I would return here.

This hotel is super charming. The value for money is good and the breakfast offered just enough variety for a couple of days. A lot better than many 4 star hotels actually. The pool area is really nice, with both jacuzzi and sunbeds free for use. We spent the whole day there and really enjoyed it. The hotel is located just 7 minutes away from the centre which allows for quiet nights as well. The terraces on the top floors also allow for some nice views of the town. Perfect for a quiet get away but we can imagine it'll get busy during the more popular months.
