Hoposa Hotel & Apartaments VillaConcha

This year we visited the hotel for the 5th time and again it was a very pleasant stay. Great rooms, very clean, very friendly staff and a great choice of dishes for breakfast as well as for dinner buffet.

The combination of hotel and facilities for sporting and training is great, all is well maintained and very clean. No doubt we will return next year.

Two years ago, we visited Mallorca and stayed at a hotel in Port d' Alcúdia. We were disappointed and in my review I asked: "Is this what a 'four star hotel' means on Mallorca?"

Turns out, four stars can be just as good as we expected, we just visited the wrong place. Hoposa Villaconcha was excellent. Sure, it was more expensive than the hotel we stayed in last time, but it was worth it.

The room, with a pentry, living room, and dedicated bedroom meant we could put our baby's crib in her own room and still watch some TV or sit up and talk. Excellent curtains also meant we could black out the entire place regardless of the time of day. (Especially good for me and our baby, who wants to sleep early and hit the roads asap in the morning.)

The hotel facilities as such were also nice. I used the training pool daily and never had any issues "getting a lane". (You go to the reception, book a lane for an hour -- starting every hour -- and they add 1 EUR to your room's bill.) Maybe the pool was a tad warm, but I never swam for more than 60 minutes so it was OK. I did not use the gym so I can't speak to that. Our daughter loved the pools. The kiddy pool and the shallow pool by the restaurant were perfect for her and I saw plenty of people enjoying the deeper pools to. (Note that none of these are heated though.)

Food-wise: Nothing to complain about. Maybe one out of 6 nights, the food was ... meh. But the buffet always had something that you could fill up on and I was able to eat enough to sustain two workouts a day.

I rented a bike from Clips Mallorca Cycling who share premises with the hotel. The Ridley Fenix SLiC (I think I booked the top spec version, but I'm not sure) was good. Mono cockpit, Di2 Ultegra, nice and nimble. Like last time, I was a bit disappointed about the butyl inner tubes and the rolling resistance on the tyres, but I understand that they prioritise puncture resistance above a 15 watt saving. I had zero issues with the bike but the rear break was a bit mushy. I presume people trail break a lot and it's simply not economically feasible for the LBS to swap pads as often as I would myself. The bike garage is good and if you bring your own bike there's dedicated storage for your bike box (also in the garage).

My only complaint would be that cleaning seems to only happen once a day and only before lunch. Since we had our baby with us and she needs a before-lunch-nap, we were often in our room between 10:30 and 12:00. During this time we would put the "do not disturb-sign" on the door, but even though we switched to the "please clean-sign" when we went out, I think our room was only cleaned once during our 7 day stay.

As long as we don't want to try a different part of the island, next time we go back to Mallorca, we will stay here again. I have no reason to pick another hotel in the north east area.

Lovely clean hotel. Excellent facilities especially if you like sport. 25 metre pool, mini spa, gym. Several outdoor pools which were cold. Great choice of food, all buffet style but you must remember to book before certain times otherwise the staff will not allow you to book. For a large hotel seems unusual rule as all food is buffet style & a quick turnover. Some of the staff lovely, others not so great. Rooms are spacious & well equipped, cleaned daily & towels changed daily. Would definitely return.

We had fantastic stay during our trip. From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive. Check-in was quick and easy. And the foods were so delicious. It was a great experienced and will definitely be staying here again on our next trip!

The team at the Restaurant are so amazing and welcoming! We enjoyed every breakfast and dinner and they made us feel like at home, great attention to detail and always went above and beyond to make us happy! The food was also delicious and fresh, lots of variety and local and international dishes.

Really good hotel with excellent cycling and sports facilities and super friendly and helpful staff. Gabriel from the front desk in particular provided excellent support, helping with hire car, directions, suggestions and helping with the hotel facilities.

Such a wonderful stay. We came for a break and left feeling beyond relaxed. Definitely worth every single penny which is beyond hard to find nowadays. The staff were kind and happy to help however they could.
We look forward to come back again soon.
