Where to stay in Kouvola

Totally decent hotel. A bit retro, but nice and clean. Lady in the reception super friendly and helped me with late check in. Good hot sauna open until 22:00 with nice chilly swimming pool to jump in. Breakfast with quite good variaty. Overall 8/10.

Very quaint and quiet place. The sauna is great! Would visit again. Ps. It's been a while since I've seen a classic plastic punched VingCard. It was kinda... a blast from the past.

Nice place to stay. Friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are clean and tidy. Sauna and pool areas are nice. Overall it feels comfortable, it you are wanting up to date and new this is not the place however for value for money it is good.

Sommelo shows its age, but provided us much better value for money during the housing fair than Kouvola chains. Decent sauna with a pool is free.

Yes, an hotel locked in the 80s but quite clean. One complain during 3 days nobody came to clean my bedroom. There is a large free parking, it's located near of the basic shops, restaurants, so great. I took my breakfasts there, they are complète, fruits, yogourt, jams, bread, ham, cereals, ..... good for a short stay 3, 4 days. After I can not say what but something is missing.

Good location near the river in Kuusankoski. Good and polite service, clean. Hotel has free of extra charge sauna and pool, outside terraces and an excellent breakfast. Quiet guests happened to be during our stay. It just needs maybe some renovation. So all in all 3,8 out of 5 stars.

Had a very splendid stay here. The room was very spacious, the sauna and Jacuzzi were very well kept up and nice. I especially enjoyed the various machines in the gym!

Good hotel near the centre. Nice and quiet rooms, very clean and nicely decorated rooms and premises. Breakfast is nice with fresh vegetables and breads and plenty of options to choose from. The location is near a big road, but there is no noise from the road to the rooms. There should be a nice sauna and gym, but I didn't have time for a visit. My friends said the sauna is good.

Nice hotel from a commonly known chain (Sokos) and thus as good as most of their other offerings. Room was spacious enough, nicely styled and equipped with all basic amenities, the bed was comfortable, there's a common sauna and "spa" available for free. This is a 3-star hotel, so I'll give it three stars. =) It is located right in the center of Kouvola, right on the main street. Kouvola is a small city, so during week the street will be quiet, although on weekends people going/coming to/from bars may be loud. So, rooms on street side could be noisy. Rooms are clean but the beds were a bit on the firm side for my taste. Breakfast is OK if you stick to the sandwiches and fruit as the "Full English" offered dry scrambled eggs and weirdly sweet fried mushrooms.

Basic typical dated hotel. Clean tiny room, good bed, good a/c. Poor, slow check in, we were in three, I was told "I'll do one at the time" when I gave all our names, instead of giving all of us the form to fill at the same time, she asked between each of us, if she can proceed, gosh please!! Only excuse, if it was her first day at work. It took 25 minutes. Good breakfast.

Oh man, these guys know hospitality. Which is obviously required when the premises are somewhat tired. Front desk and restaurant staff are top notch professionals and genuinly friendly! Sauna is nice but löylyt are slightly on the mild side.

Good hotel looking like built 30 years ago. Actually close to the city center. Positive staff! Our second floor room looked not fresh but all equipment were in place and worked well. There was live blues band in the bar first floor Saturday evening we stayed here. Not expensive breakfast included all necessary things I used to have. It was pleasure to have it on sunny summer terrace.

Ok, it is not a fancy hotel, but for it's price and to stay for one night it's just perfect! Clean, bright, right size, also cheap and filling breakfast. Owners are most wonderful and carrying ❤️

The hotel is really good for the money. Clean room, a big proper table in the room so I could work normally and read a newspaper, unexpected! Very quiet. The stuff is really friendly. I got a coffee-maker into my room and dishes, when I asked. Recommending!

Nothing to complain about. Just perfect accommodation in a beautiful old villa and its a bit newer side wing. Rooms and decorations nice, Clean. Helpful Staff. And close by some magnificent industrial ruin and working factories. Plus a mighty river.

Absolutely great villa, in a good location, the beach was shallow, suitable for families with children. The beach is approx. 100m from the cottage. A peaceful cottage village.

To relax from the hustle and bustle of the big city, we went to Villa Maria with our family. This is a wonderful place where you can relax your body and soul. The villa has everything you need for a comfortable stay. BUT MORE THAN EVERYTHING was impressed by the FIREPLACE and SAUNA. There are all necessary appliances, kitchen utensils, etc. Fresh air, forest, cleanest lake _ this is a great place....

I stayed in the AuroraHut at Aurantola for 3 nights. I needed a place to unwind my mind and reconnect with nature. I couldn't have chosen a better place. The glass igloo is in front of a stunning lake, far aside all the other cottages. So, no noise and distractions other than ducks swimming in front of you and wookpeekers doing their job. At some point you can feel like Monet in front of the Rouen...

Picturesque interior, quiet location. I recommend snorkeling around Rajasaari, great scenery! The hosts are friendly. The sauna is really nice. Loft sleeping area hot.

The place is beautifully located on the shore of a clear lake, and both rooms and cabins are available for accommodation. The beach sauna for rent was a really pleasant experience and so was the breakfast in the main building. We offer canoes and paddle boards, and the scenery is great. The host is also really friendly. There is also a separate area for caravanners and the possibility to eat on site...

Great place. The cottages on the island are well equipped, each has a sauna, you can make a barbecue as well as go boating on the lake. The space between the houses is so large that the neighbors do not interfere. Remember to bring your bed linen, otherwise you can rent a full set for € 7.

Despite being located near the motorway, it doesn't cause any disturbance. Nesr the place os also a bird watching tower. We had some problems like dirty cups in the room, called the reception and took them an hour to come "replace" the cups but was just wiped and brought back to us, cups were still dirty from the inside. No soap on the bathroom. Noticed hair on the supposed to be clean towels and dirty...

Great little hotel close to the motorway. Visited here while working for 8 Solutions in a local Data Center at Hamina just before Christmas 2014. Staff friendly and have great English. In fact there's an English class held here for the town's younger population. We stayed here as a B&B with evening meals and the Breakfast was great with an all you can eat style but obviously biased towards a Finnish...

Nice staff! The small store located in Karhulantie has a really accurate selection of where to find what you like. The cozy and bright open atmosphere brought by the large display windows creates a more spacious impression.

Good located hotel could be convenient for travellers. Small and looked well. Window in our room was slighly broken with no possibility to close it appropriatelly. Therefore there were a little bit cold. Breakfest was enough for me but could be not enough for somebody with more fastidious inclinations.

The idea is better than the outcome, but a very pleasant mansion some 10 km away from downtown Kotka. Beautiful riverside and all in all nice surroundings, including a pleasant surprise park 10 minute walk away.

Beautiful old building with many charming details both inside and out. Our room was very large but singles in our party had normal sized rooms. The breakfast was fabulous with many choices for an American or European palate. Just a heads up, there is no A/C. We visited in the fall so this wasn't an issue for us. Overall, I highly recommend.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. Although we had a language barrier, they were empathetic and great. Always offer me a coffee if I happen to drop by.

On Vimpasaari and Raki Kotka Island, you can spend relaxing holidays in a great setting. Nothing beats the peace of the archipelago. The bird watcher has plenty to see in the nearby islets and waters. You can even pick up a few perch for dinner from the cottage beach, real local food!
