Reviews
The hotel is located on top of a fell and offers beautiful views. The Northern Lights could be seen through the large windows. The hotel restaurant serves an excellent breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Overall, it was a great experience!
We arrived late after visiting Santa Claus village and apparently there is 2 wings to the hotel. Dinner was covered and was sumptuous but the whole duration for a simple 3 course dinner took almost 2 hours to be served! By the time we got to our rooms was almost 11pm and there are kids in my group..
Breakfast was the total opposite.
What was served was the worse of what I had ate in my duration of 10 days in the Scandinavian countries! Imagine having just fried eggs, bacon bits, pancakes and oatmeal porridge under a counter with very red lights shining down to the extent we also don't know what we are scooping on to our plates! The other corner is serving coffee and juice plus the final one is serving some biscuits and sourdough bread.
The worst thing was the maple syrup ran out and when I requested for a new bottle I was told they actually don't have any in the kitchen anymore!!!
Worst service I ever encounter so far and the worse is yet to come.
Dinner on the second night started at 6pm and guess what, it was another 2 hours before everyone was served the 3 course of dishes!
And though we stayed for 2 nights housekeeping was not done also. I do not know if this is the norm in Finland but I find it a bit ridiculous actually. And to get to our rooms we actually have to walk quite a small maze of hallways and doors to access our rooms.
On the other hand, this hotel has a gym and a private sauna with a games room with table tennis and billiards table. The view is stunning during the day and great for IG photos as well.
Cannot write much about this hotel as it’s very eerie to walk and exercise at the gym too.
For now just hope the heater is warm enough to keep the room warm throughout the night.
Only positive note is that it is quiet.
Room is large and bath has a jacuzzi! Fantastic at the end of a cold day outdoors.
There is a sauna and gym, though it was initially a challenge to navigate to it.
Meals at the restaurant is good. Though dinner was simple, it was elegant and we love the dessert.
It was also a great place to walk outside to view the auroras.
