Hôtel ibis Styles Nord

We booked this hotel next to the autoroute for one night at our half way point. We were very disappointed in the state of the building, as well as the fact that we had to take several flights of stairs (with our baby in a stroller!) to get to our “family room” located on the 5th floor - the elevator only goes to floor 4. We sort of complained about this fact to Monsieur le Directeur who did our check in - he answered he was not the architect…..
There is an Ibis budget next door which looks brand new…. Next time we’ll stay there, for a much better price, and likely an elevator to our floor!

Subject: Disappointing Stay at Ibis Styles Auxerre

I recently spent a night at Ibis Styles Auxerre, and I must say, it was an experience I would rather forget. From the moment we arrived, things went downhill.

First and foremost, the condition of our hotel room was unacceptable. The carpet was filthy and had not been properly cleaned, which was incredibly off-putting. The air conditioning barely worked, leaving us uncomfortable throughout the night. As a result, we struggled to get a good night's sleep.

The dining experience was even worse. The food was, to put it frankly, disgraceful. My son nearly broke a tooth on the burger bun, which was inedible. It was shocking to see such poor quality food being served. Breakfast was no better; it felt more like a scene from a zoo. A frog was hopping around on the floor, while a cat casually wandered through the dining area during dinner. To top it off, there were dead flies everywhere, which made the already unpleasant atmosphere even worse.

Given the numerous issues we faced during our stay, I feel compelled to request a refund for this horrible experience. I expected much more from Ibis Styles, and I hope that changes are made to ensure future guests do not have to endure what we did.

3 stars for the location; the price-value ratio is quite high(paid over 120euros per night. Unfortunately, there's no coffee or kettles in the rooms, and navigating stairs with heavy luggage is challenging due to the absence of an elevator on the first floor. The elevator is tiny, but the staff is friendly. I've experienced better Ibis Budget stays, and it's disappointing that Ibis Styles didn't send a survey like other good hotels usually do.
