Car park full when we arrived. Cramped bedroom

Was 30c or so outside and had no aircon, the room with 5 of us in was like a furnace. Generally it had the bare minimum in it to be classed as a hotel room and not a single thing extra. Staff were friendly and wasnt too far of a walk into the city center.

Booked T very late notice. Arrived an hour after booking with no issues. Checking in and instruction easy and clear. Password for wifi and access instructions clear. Car park was full but we did arrive late but plenty of on street parking out the front of hotel.

The purpose of our stay was to be close the EHPAD Henry Dunant to visit a friend. It was convenient and having dining option was great. The staff was welcoming and the facilities were very clean.

After a long drive we were looking forward to a good night sleep. Unfortunately this was not to be, the room was very cramped for 5, 2 adults and 3 teenage children, it was very hot and there was only a tower fan in the room which made no difference. This little hotel is more like a Bed & Breakfast! The proprietors are attentive and keep the property immaculate. We ate in the dining room for several meals and it was really good. The rooms were comfortable. Caen is a very special place, easy to navigate and full of charm. The hotel is walking distance to a top notch boulangerie (Bon Ble) and a well-stocked market. Very nice staff, clean, good rooms. Very decent price for a hotel this centrally located. However, getting onto the hotel parking lot is a bit of an adventure. The court yard where the parking lots is located is quite the off road experience.

This hotel deserves more than two stars. Newly refurbished rooms, clean, friendly staff and good breakfast. We had a family room for 4 persons. Very nice. Free internet. Very close to the Caen castle and a nice restaurant street. Good prices.

Our first night was awful. They gave is room 24 which is on the bottom floor with next to the elevator and front desk and entrance. It was very noisy, I didn't sleep until past 5am. The room was outdated and the mattress was super cheap. The shower was small and neeses remodelong. They moved our room to a large family room and that was much better. Our second stay in Caen but this was our first stay here, the staff were very friendly and helpful the gentleman who was on bar and restaurant duty in the evening Was great we thought he was English but it turned out he was French and local but spoke English extremely well. Nice evening meal.

Stayed there before catching the ferry the next day, good location and a good sized room.

Very central location. They have 3 floors but no elevator, so that’s something to keep in mind. The stay was comfortable for a short two days. No complains.

Room was nicely decorated and very clean. But it was very small. Also no lift a four storey building so if you on top floor like us a lot of stairs to climb. Breakfast was very poor and could be improved. No eggs or yoghurt. No fresh milk only long life milk. Car parking at €22 per day is a bit stiff. Admittedly hotel doesn't own car park. But i think hotel should try and make alternative arrangements...

I had a lovely stay in the Hotel Fontaine for the DDay commemorations. Secure underground car park very close by, a stroll to several good restaurants and the beautiful chateau.

late arrival due to immigration at caen. checked in all okay. small room ok for 1 night. very clean except bathroom light covered in cobwebs. wall around bed dirty and dusty. left early.

Good value for money. Narrow room, as well as the bathroom (shower, toilet, sink). Comfortable bed as well as the duvet. Simple and complete breakfast. Inclusion of breakfast in the price not clear when booking, and observation not included in the final.

A wonderful stay in the centre of Caen. The hotel is quaint clean and the room was spacious and lovely. We had a good fan, a welcome addition during the heatwave. A lovely view into Caen and close to restaurants and touristic attractions. We highly recommend!

This hotel is great! Only one thing I want to mention is the shower booth that the bottom of the glass door’s packing is off, as a result almost of the water from shower leak to the bathroom floor.

We stayed in the hotel for four nights. Although clean, our room was in an annex and was on the small side, particularly the bathroom. I'm not sure if this is typical of a city centre hotel. The room tended to feel damp and there was no window to open. During daytime occupation I left the door open to let some fresh air in. The area was very quiet for sleeping. Location was good but the room was extremely small and inconvenient. No space to put your belongings. There were some shelves in the bathroom. Breakfast was included but it was very basic.

Could not have asked for anything more from this little gem. The lady on reception was very welcoming and informative. I had a parking space booked and she kindly explained the exit process for the next day. The hotel is in the heart of Caen and would go back again. It was a nice hotel. It looked like it had been remodeled recently. Our room was spacious. I know AC is not a big thing in Europe but given that the rooms look like they had recently been renovated I was a little surprised that they had not added AC. Good location hotel Very good hotel, the location is excellent which right in the center. Close to all places you want to go. You if you drive here, public packing is available, only 2-3 mins walk. Price is also reasonable if you plan to pack over night. I only paid 30 Euro for 3 days.

A nice little hotel, very centrally located. Easy walking distance to the train station, chateau, abbayes and restaurants. Room was spacious and clean. Staff were wonderful, and the evening clerk gave us lots of advice for where to eat, the best things to do, and how to get there.

The owner of the hotel was extremely nice and courteous. The room was quiet and clean! The location was also perfect! Every morning he brought us breakfast to our room and it was the best way to start the day! We looked forward to seeing him every morning and our breakfast. We can’t thank him enough for everything! The location and hotel itself are great. Shower, beds and staff were good. However, my sister and I were traveling alone and there were a lot of young men hanging around surrounding businesses. They were loud and just hanging out until at least midnight or later. Felt a bit sketchy.

The location is in crowded and noisy people hanging around on front area.

Convenient location to the Caen rental car offices If it's convenience to the train station and rental car offices you need, this could be the right place for you. It was easy to find and just a few doors down to all of the major car rental offices. It is practical and good for a one night stay. You can add a breakfast for a reasonable fee. The check-in host was fluent in both French and English.

We only stayed for 1 night. Free parking, very cheap. Room was ok, quite small. The bathroom was ok, towels supplied. Room was old and could do with a makeover, had a small window which faced over the car park. Had a small heater which worked well and warmed the room. The lady on reception was really lovely and friendly. You can get breakfast here and the location is near a supermarket for any provisions...

This is a budget hotel - please keep this in mind when you read this review. It is an incredibly cheap room for the night, but at €60 a night you get exactly what you pay for: PROS - very cheap for a hotel room - great water pressure - quiet at night - breakfast is basic but plentiful CONS - it’s on an industrial site about 3km out of the centre, with no restaurants nearby - it is a tired building...

Very nice and helpful staff. They realised I was going to struggle to reach the allocated first floor room as there's no lift and asked if we would prefer a ground floor room. Basic but clean, comfortable accommodation, couldn't ask for much more for the price.

No Aircon, so very hard to sleep in hot weather. Our room was right beside a carpark full of Travellers so it was pretty loud. Pleasant staff and a clean room however.

Simple rooms but perfect for an overnight stay where flopping in bed is all you care for. Supermarket and restraraunt nearby and within 20 minutes drive of the ferry port.

Friendly, helpful staff with good English. The rooms were clean, comfortable and had all we needed for the night including a kettle. Good location for bus to the ferry, just a very short walk up the road. Trams were also convenient.

The hotel is situated near restaurants, château, churches, and Tram. A big thank you to Mr Stephan for assisting ou family during our 4 nights stay. He was knowledgeable and helpful in all our needs. This was our 2nd time staying in this hotel when we’re in Caen.

Loved this place. Just a small bed and breakfast, no facilities and very compact inside but great location in the heart of Caen overlooking the main canal. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Entrance hallway and stairs need a lick of paint but the room was spotless and very comfortable. EXCELLENT welcomed, great location. Decor could improve but staff so friendly. Located just on the pier, couldn’t be better. Storage space for bicycle, room was welcoming and clean. Great big bath in the room, excellent advice about local restaurants.

Great location in the centre of town. The WiFi is ok for emails, but couldn't stream BBC iPlayer (no English tv stations on the tv). When booking I picked the hotel as it said there is parking. However the parking is paid in car parks around the city! The bed is comfy though and the room was quiet.

When I arrived, I was tired and had a heavy bag, which they helped me take to my room. The room was cleaned every day whether it needed it or not. This is a small charming hotel, quite typical in Europe, in a great location. Small but comfortable room. The staff was friendly and helpful and responded quickly to my inquiries. We had a late checkin (the hotel is actually closed at night) but we were given an entry code and access to a key box for the key to our room. It all worked very well.

This hotel is great! I would have given it five stars if it had an elevator. Everything was very clean and well done. Our room, 32, had a balcony. The lady who checked us in was very nice and helpful.

Excellent service, I visited with my family and it was an excellent experience. The staff is professional and polite, the rooms are neat and clean. The attached bathroom is well equipped and the breakfast service is great.

We are always made to feel welcome, Caen is particularly pleasant,but all B.B. Hotels are similar. The rooms are great, like the picture-paper over the bed! Everything as it should be. Shame we don’t have time for breakfast when returning to UK, after a full days drive up.

cool windows, rooms were a little small

The room was clean, and the breakfast was plentiful, comparable to a four-star hotel. The bathroom was fully equipped and had a reasonable layout, but there was almost no space on the table. For some reason, there was a Jinjiang sign at the entrance. Had it been acquired?

The room was very satisfactory, and the location was excellent, about a 10-minute walk to the old town and castle. The hotel's own parking spaces are limited, but street parking is easy to find and safe. The breakfast was plentiful, including freshly squeezed orange juice, which was delicious.

Overall, it's very good. It's very close to the train station and there are large shopping malls and supermarkets nearby, which are very convenient. I especially like the breakfast, which is very rich and has freshly squeezed orange juice to drink, which is very good.
