Room was comfortable during my stay, and I'm glad I stayed here because it was within a short distance of the historic churches in town. Will definitely stay here again next time.

Very nice hotel conveniently located away from the city center. Just two things, breakfast ends at 09.30 and sometimes busses with dumb tourists are off loaded. The kind that talks loud and slams doors at 06.30 in the freaking morning.

My stay there was not bad as it is within walking distance of many attractions in Caen. The only problems I had are, in the breakfast buffet during my stay, the scrambled eggs were not that good and the bacon didn’t really taste right. My bathroom didn’t have a fan so if you ever have to take a dump, make sure to wave the door around to get the stench out or do courtesy flushes to get rid of it as...

We had a fantastic experience here. This hotel was reasonable, clean, and very nice inside and out. The rooms were spacious and all of the staff was very friendly and helpful. This hotel is centrally located near the center of Caen, in easy walking distance to the downtown and a number of sites worth visiting. I'd surely stay here again.

We had a warm and friendly welcome to the hotel. The staff were approachable and knowledgeable about the area and which was the best way to get around the area. The room itself was ideal as it was mainly somewhere to have as a base. The room was spacious, and a good view of the swimming pool and table tennis. Excellent staff. Comfortable, spacious room. Nice warm pool. Good restaurant. Breakfast a little on the expensive side. The first visit to the car park/entrance can be a little confusing, but afterwards is fine. Staff don't wear name badges so I can't name the ones that particular impressed in the bar and on reception.

Good value and well located accommodation as part of a family holiday in France. We found all the staff very friendly and having access to the pool was a great bonus with the hot weather on the day of our visit.

This is a relaxed hotel with a pool, conveniently situated in Caen close to the ferry port. Rooms are standard, communal areas are clean. The breakfast buffet has a good range of items, including some GF products.

Excellent service, I visited with my family and it was an excellent experience. The staff is professional and polite, the rooms are neat and clean. The attached bathroom is well equipped and the breakfast service is great.

We are always made to feel welcome, Caen is particularly pleasant,but all B.B. Hotels are similar. The rooms are great, like the picture-paper over the bed! Everything as it should be. Shame we don’t have time for breakfast when returning to UK, after a full days drive up.

It’s clean, tidy, warm welcome and as expected from an Ibis. The mercure is just next door where I usually stay but it was fully booked. Car park is just over the road and is very reasonable. I love the location, right on the harbour so you can people and boat watch, especially great in the summer with all the bars and restaurants - all within walking distance.

Rooms are a bit on the small side, breakfast was okay. Staff on reception were nice and very helpful. Great location, very close to Caen Castle, the Cathedral and loads of restaurants.

Friendly staff. Location is great, right in the center of the city next to a marina. Rooms are on the small side but that's expected when you're in the centre. On sundays the hotel is a bit hard to reach by car due to the market but that's not really their fault.

Why put the first picture you see of a grande house on your site , that's misleading , the hotel is clean and well run though , the rooms are a bit dated , but very clean ?

Nice, very new feeling hotel. Staff at the front desk were lovely and very helpful. Breakfast had enough options to avoid seeking alternatives. Aircon in the room was a bit temperamental and kept blowing cold air no matter what temp it was set to, so I just switched it off in the end. Other than that it was very enjoyable and a very reasonable price too. Easy to navigate to, and close to the peripherique

The hotel is very well located and the bed for a third person in a room with two other people has a good mattress. The staff is very gentle and polite, from the receptionist to the kitchen staff. I would just add that the hotel needs to have room service at least, even thought the hotel is located near Monoprix and some restaurants, having room service is kind of important.

I must say this is a great location. If you’re going to explore the city the hotel was very well-maintained. The room we ended up in was a very nice room towels were nice. All the amenities were good. Had to call down and ask for body lotion and so forth The only problem we had is when we checked in the room we had had an old bathtub very high which because my husband‘s a veteran and has hip issues...

The literal BEST best western I’ve ever stayed at! Staff were incredibly warm and welcoming and always were accommodating. Rooms were incredibly comfortable and extremely quiet at night. The staff are incredibly dedicated to making sure everything is clean and spotless at all times. Would 100% stay here again.

In the course of driving to several places outside of Paris, Caen was the first place to stay. I was enchanted with both Caen and the hotel Moderne. Everything was simply perfect. Starting from the reservation way before we arrived I contacted the hotel to ask about parking and they supplied exact and very easy explanation to get to the hotel parking which they reserved a spot for me (highly convenient). Great location in Caen and only a short tram ride from the Gare to a stop two blocks from the hotel. Monoprix across the street and at the start of a pedestrian street with shopping and food in all directions. It's a short walk to the Castle and Cathedral and on Sunday the market at the Marina which is a must see with anything you want or need... lovely staff at the front desk who go out of their way...

I liked it as it was cheap and the staff were friendly. We stayed for a stopover of one night. Family of five in one room. Easy parking and good as a stopover as it is close enough to highway. No need to have dinner in hotel. Easy walk to a few restaurants and shopping.

The hotel isn't very expensive and ultimately pretty nice. It was an affordable place to stay for two nights and all we needed. It was just disappointing. The room was much smaller and much more plain than the website made it look. You pretty much had to get on the bed as soon as you opened the door. Upon check-in they mentioned breakfast times. Receptionist was really helpful with my Negative Covid Test and documents for return sailing to England. She printed out everything for me to pass safely through customs at Ouistreham. Great hotel, clean, nice big rooms and a super breakfast included. The hotel is situated about 100 meters from a nice square with many good restaurants to choose from. This is also a great place to choose of traveling with children.

I wish I had the opportunity to dine in the restaurant, but perhaps in the future, they'll have a vegan menu, but this is a fantastic stay in the surprisingly vibrant city of Caen. This is a “good” hotel with a “great” restaurant. To set your expectation, it’s absolutely not a five star hotel standard, but it is nevertheless clean and comfortable. Imagine more of a Mercure Hotel with a fine-dining restaurant.

Great room & decor. We stayed on a Sunday night to find the restaurant was closed and nowhere nearby to eat. They did offer 'room service' food, but the 'club sandwich' provided was very poor indeed by any standard.

Lovely receptionists, quick booking in, complimentary tea and coffee at all times from the restaurant, clean comfy room. Dining room nice, and we had breakfast which was nice, mainly continental as we would expect, but also boil your own eggs, bacon, scrambled egg and sausages.

Tiny room but very clean and modern bathroom with hot showers. Great location, central. No lift in the hotel so guests need to carry their bags up the stairs. The lobby receptionist offers help to carry bags. Good for a quick stay with light luggage. Breakfast is basic but they make fresh omlettes. Staff is friendly and speak English

Great hotel, didn’t really get the full experience due to the language barrier , and our room was half way cleaned. The restaurant has no English menu, but the food is amazing , just good luck because theres no English speaker to explain the magnificent flavors they put at the table.

Maurice and I had the “Promenade” (tasting) menu. It was disappointing. The first and second courses were almost identical. The service was not impeccable and - in my view - the menu and wines were overpriced for what was on offer.

Nice place to spend a few days as the rooms can have a small kitchen. The rooms are comfortable. These are a set of independent units that have a couple or more rooms. Looks like pre-built buildings but not in a bad way. We didn’t heard any noises or had any issues at all. Excellent Service. Clean and spacious room. Very friendly host. I stayed here for 3 nights. When I use the washing machine on the last day of my stay, they let me wait inside my room instead of asking me to check out first.

The rooms are clean and large, free parking, the location is excellent, the breakfast is excellent (the only thing missing is vegetables and it's perfect) the service is excellent! The guy at the reception went out of his way to help me with a charging solution for the electric car, well done for the amazing service! It is highly recommended .

Decent enough place to stay for a night. As the ferry from the UK arrives late we used it as a place to crash before the onward journey in the morning so was perfect for that. Very friendly staff and a 24hr front desk which is a nice addition. Well lit car park coupled with the 24hr front desk makes it secure enough. My husband and I recently stayed there for a few days on vacation. The rooms are small but clean and have comfortable beds. It was just a short walk to the rail station. The breakfast was really nice, and the staff was wonderful as they were always available and helpful with information and restaurant recommendations. Also Isabel helped arrange us a great tour of the Normandy Beach area and Caen Memorial...

This hotel is located close to the train station and is in the modèle of the town. A lot of restaurants, and a night club are nearby. The bedroom is simple but functional and the mastress is confortable. A all you can est breakfast is available and à fresh orange Juice is proposed. A Good address !

Friendly hotel in ideal location for exploring Caen on foot. During checking in, the receptionist spotted somebody outside vacating one of the few parking spaces right in front of the hotel and ran out into the street to reserve it for us. It doesn't get more helpful than that.

The reception and service from the staff was great! They made us feel very welcome and that started our stay in the best possible way. The fusball table was a particular hit with us 😊 The room was immaculate and gave us a really comfortable stay. I hope that we stay again very soon!

Highly recommended for anyone who is cycling through Caen, as we were on a trip from London to Italy. The staff were very friendly and helpful, letting us park our bicycles up in a secure garage with 24hr access. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The hotel is well located with a bike mechanic nextdoor (they tuned ours up for free), laundry plus good bars and restaurants.

Minimalist hotel, my room had 3 beds: 2 singles side by side and 1 single going over them bunkbed style

The room looked like a small dorm room. But we just needed somewhere to spend the night on our way to the Normandy beaches. The view out the window was an empty building very close. The breakfast was not worth the money. There are good restaurants nearby. The parking felt secure. The lot is locked at night and they give you a code to get in. It was fairly inexpensive and for the little time we spent...

A non traditional hotel. Staff are not always on site. So, depending on when you arrive you need to either wait or check in at a kiosk by the road. This makes the place feel odyssey empty. But the room was cheap and clean. It is not close to restaurants and it does not have a pool (as other reviews imply).
