Detective Hotel

The rooms are fancy, clean and the bed was great. Location is amazing if you want to get around the town.

Reception and therefore hotel is closing until 15.00 and if you ring the bell to get into the hotel the manager will not be amused which was a downside. Additionally the management can not speak english even if they recognize that you are by far not a native french speaker.

For us. Not worth paying such a lot of money for just a good bed.

A very original style..decoration was interesting! Staff was polite and welcoming :)
Mattress was so comfortable! Had a turntable in the room as well!
Location was not right infront of the sea which was great because it avoided too much noise.
Didn't believe it was 1 star hotel!

We just booked this place randomly and the place goes by its name perfectly. Great cozy rooms, great hosts and great service. Definitely a recommendation!

Just stayed here with my friend for a couple days and it was perfect!! The staff were so friendly and helpful! The rooms and the hotel in general was super clean! The bathroom as well! Everything was maintained clean as well! The buffet was simple but definitely worth it, with fresh French cheeses’, cold cuts, croissants, crepes and fruits! A large choice of coffees and teas - coffee was from a machine and tasted great so they must’ve cleaned the machine regularly too! Hotel is located 5 mins from the beach next to an array of local shops such as a pharmacy, bakeries and supermarkets! It’s also a 2 minute walking distance to local public transportI seriously will recommend this to anyone staying in Etretat! Thank you for having us and providing such a comfortable unique stay!

We booked this hotel the same day around 6 pm. Price was reasonable. We were happily surprised by the quality of the hotel, the room was cleverly decorated with a detective team, and the room and bathroom were spotless. The location of the place is also unbeatable. I would love to come back.

The hotel is very well located, the mini train to the falésias and jardin du Etretat is less than 1 minute from there, the owner is a very sweet and helpful person… the hotel is interesting and full of surprises (Arsene lupin. Room), I really liked 😃

A very nice hotel with a lovely concept! We stayed at the Sherlock Holmes room which was decorated with much attention to detail (as is the entire hotel) and has one great surprise to offer - that I obviously won't give away now, though...

But the highlight for us was the breakfast: absolutely delicious and on top, at a very reasonable price.
When we stayed at a different hotel in the area (because unlike the Detective Hotel, it offered parking which is the only very minor downside here, but a very common issue for all of Etretat's hotels) during another visit, we just came by for breakfast!

And: the owner and team are just great, very welcoming people!
We look forward to another stay - with Magnum PI, Ms. Marple or Columbo, there is still plenty of rooms we would surely be fans of!

We were lucky to get a last minute room. It's a must stay if you ever enjoyed a detective novel and you love attention to detail ! Our room was very clean and full of character. The owner was very friendly and helpful too. Perfectly situated in the centre only a few meters from everything really; restaurants, seafront, cliffs.
I recommend it !
