Hotel De La Cathedrale

A very warm welcome at that cosy hotel located at the heart of the medieval city of Rouen, only a few yards away from where Joan of Arc was burnt alive... Comfort and silence in that traditional Inn where the staff will do anything to please patrons' requests and meet their every needs. Highly recommended.

Pleasant hotel, with helpful staff, good location, and good breakfast (€11 extra). Despite being in a very quiet area (right next to the cathedral) the walls are thin, and the floorboards creaky, so light sleepers may be disturbed during the night.

We had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The staff is nice, the hotel is very well located as it is right next to the cathedral, in the old town centre. And there's a little cat, so cute! The price was decent as we reserved a room online. Be careful though ! The breakfast is not included in the offer and, although good, is expensive.

We took the opportunity for a quick visit to Rouen on our way home in June and were lucky enough to find this hotel. Make no mistake that this is a modern hotel as it isn't and is none the worse for that. It's a converted seventeenth century building and it simply oozes charm even if it is a little quirky. Actually I cannot fault a single thing and it was possibly the best breakfast I enjoyed in our whole two weeks in France. I must mention the free WiFi; these days free WiFi is an essential and I'm sick to death of modern, good hotels offering terrible WiFi. Given the age of the building I was expecting the worst but in fact I actually got the best WiFi that I've ever used anywhere. This was a demonstration of hotel management identifying a need and then doing the very best for their clients and I really, really appreciate that. Thank you.
