Anna Maria Paradise in Pefkohori

Rather mixed feelings about this trip. The pool areas are lovely, kept spotless and a quiet adults only pool, plenty sunbeds. The food was adequate, and regularly topped up. The room was smallish, cleaning was cursory, no tea coffee provided, no water provided and expensive to buy. Drinks expensive, most people were visiting the local supermarket. Although we booked half board, expecting to have breakfast and lunch - there is no lunch. Entertainment was bingo and karaoke. Good place to take your kids but thankfully not our only break.

on arriving to this hotel we were very pleased with what we sore, very clean, happy staff, well presented, good exterior buildings. how could this be a 3* ??. in my opinion this should have been a 4*. then we checked in to the reception. this is were it went down hill from there. Thomas the owner informed that the room we had booked was not available and that we had been upgraded to a superior deluxe room, instead of the superior room we had booked. NO explanation of why are room was not available. he kept on telling us that the upgraded room was better, didn't want to answer my question. then he started on what tours were available for us to go on, when asking questions of the tours he didn't listen and kept on going, so i just listened to what he had to say. then we were taken to our up graded room, (NOT IMPRESSED) decor was lacking in quality, wood effect furniture, showing signs of delamination, sea view from balcony part blocked by solar and air con units. informed manager that we were not impressed. after sleeping in room for first night, we noticed in the morning that a lot of water on the floor, this was from a leaking air con unit. we informed the manager of this and was told this would be fixed ASAP. 5 DAYS later and 5 nights of dripping water and sleepless nights with no help from the manager and constantly reminding of the leak, an engineer attended our room while we were out to fix the problem. on arriving back and switching on the air con, it leaked even worse than before, reported to Manager but then was told it was our fault as we had the air con to low (what a load of crap). another engineer was booked for next day and he replaced the whole unit and apologized, we asked him about the lower settings and was told that the lower settings is not a problem. After this i decided to check for other defects, balcony door doesn't lock (security issue),curtain to balcony doesn't cover door so lets in light, cracked glass to shower (health & safety issue) Grout missing from tiling to shower(cut toe on this)wardrobe doors don't close. these are only a few of problems found. after speaking to a member of staff, we found out that the superior rooms booked by us and 3 other English couples, had been turned into family rooms for more money. NOT ACCEPTABLE. Complaint is know in the hands of Jet2. i believe that if the Manager had checked the rooms before occupancy as he should do, then there would be no issues on defects. i also believe he needs to step back and let his team do there jobs as this would benefit his business and make a happy holiday for the residents. The staff are 5*, the food 5* this is what made are holiday happy staff faces.
