Grand Hotel Cannigione

We loved our stay here. The staff went above and beyond to make us comfortable and happy. They were all very attentive.

The room was very clean and comfortable.

The location is nice in a quieter town. The hotel has a section of the beach with hotel unbrellas and beds. They offer a free shuttle to the beach and you can order drink and food from the bar there through the hotel.

It’s also only a 20-30 min drive to Palau and port Cervo as well as many beautiful crystal blue beaches along the way.

We would definitely stay again.

Hotel 9/10
Nice small hotel, felt very personable. Very relaxing and quiet. Most of the hotel staff were really nice. Although the good beach is far; it’s nice to be closer to town for restaurants and exploring. Although they should offer a shuttle service at night every hour and half or so even would make the hotel 10/10. I would come back.

Breakfast 10/10
Delicious. Tons of options. Really nice servers. Open til 10:30am which is nice.

Restaurant 7/10
Good food. But expect to pay resort prices. €14 wine and €20-€30 entree. So many good restaurants in the city center so go there instead.

Rooms 7/10
We had a “garden” room. So no view but we were only in the room in the morning and night.

Cons
- the bed is SO stuff.There should be some kind of pillow topper or at least an option for that. I woke up everyday with neck pain. It was like sleeping on just a box spring. My university mattress was more comfortable.
- There should be more hooks in the bathroom for towels and robes. Bathing suits would not dry at all in the bathroom.
Cold water should be free in the mini fridge especially for a 5 star resort or maybe even just €1. I stayed at lower star hotels and they offered free drinks in the room.

Beach
Pros:
Comfy loungers and beach service. If you order food it comes from the hotel so order 30-45 min in advance. Nice people at the beach. Only one towel per person though.
Not exactly a private beach , just roped off.
Short 10 min golf cart ride to the beach.

CONS
No real bathroom.
not exactly white sand beach so if you want that typical white soft sand Sardinia beach you’ll have to drive or walk to the end of the beach, but it was still beautiful. Recommend a boat trip to really see the most beautiful of beaches that northern Sardinia has to offer as those are only accessible via boat.

Was charged almost 500 more as there was a mistake on our bill. They need to be more thorough with that.

⭐️All in all , a good relaxing experience. More like a 4 star hotel however. Felt very well taken care off. Hopefully they read the reviews about the mattress , it really is awful or at least have options for people who need something a little softer.

⭐️ don’t hesitate to book if you want a nice relaxing hotel. These are just my personal tips and qualms. I would come back!

We had an incredible experience at Grand Hotel Cannigione. The rooms were immaculate, the hotel itself was luxury, and the service was incredible. Everyone was incredibly friendly, and nothing was too much to ask. Staff were attentive and caring. We would love to come again but next time we will definitely rent a car, we didn't realise how far away everything else on the island was. Cannigione is a lovely town with bars, restaurants, and shops, but we were restricted to staying there. There is a free mini bus service to the beach with a private section for guests with access to very comfy sunbeds. Breakfast was also amazing, with a vast selection of pastries, fruit, meats, bread, cereal (i could go on!) to keep you full most of the day. My partner is celiac, so requires gluten free food and every morning, a separate breakfast basket was bought out for her with recommendations on what she can eat from the buffet style breakfast stations. Overall, I couldn't recommend Grand Hotel Cannigione enough and thank you to all the staff for giving us such an amazing experience.

It’s a very nice hotel with very nice reception and staff. The rules can be a bit restrictive on the basis that the resort is very calm and peaceful and they like maintaining that energy. They do provide parking for hotel guests which is great.

We’ve had an amazing week at this hotel! I don’t even get where these negative experiences are coming from. The hotel’s location is really nice. It’s not in the center but it’s on perfect walking distance from restaurants, bars, shops and the sea. Excellent service also with the golf cart that drives you to the private beach. The hotel is super clean. Your room is even cleaned twice a day including fresh towels. The staff is really friendly and speak different languages so commucation goes smoothly. The reception was incredibly helpful and sweet. People at the restaurant treated us really well in the morning at breakfast and in the evening when we had dinner. The food was absolutely perfect! Nice and big breakfast with everything you need (local foods but also more general European). And the restaurant itself also serves the best quality. Almost perfect experience and I would certainly go back without a doubt. A general remark is that the prices for food and drinks at the hotel (and at their private beach) are on the higher range.
A small tip: when having aperitif it would be nice to have something with it (like crisps or some peanuts - as almost all bars do this).
Keep on doing what you’re doing, we enjoyed our stay so much. See you next year - hopefully!

After visit in September 2023:
Only the service was a bit more disappointing than the year before. Contact wasn’t that personal anymore except for a few people. We also had two nights very noisy neighbours and told the reception about this. Only thing mentioned was ‘we will talk to the manager’ but nothing more than that. Also for the last day we got very confusing info that it was our last night while we had still a night to go, so that got me really worried as we were gone for the whole day on a boat tour.
But breakfast, food was still excellent, as well as the cleaning. But I must say that you notice clearly that it’s a different manager and team.

I had an amazing experience at Hotel Gran Cannigione in Sardinia! I was truly impressed, especially with the exceptional service provided by Elia, Silvia, and Sara. They went above and beyond to ensure our stay was memorable. I must also mention the outstanding service from the bartender, Andrea, who greeted us with incredible warmth and positive energy every day.

The hotel facilities were top-notch, and I particularly enjoyed the private beach and the fantastic beach club area. Everything was well-maintained and created a wonderful atmosphere for relaxation and enjoyment.

Overall, I highly recommend Hotel Gran Cannigione for anyone visiting Sardinia. The attentive and friendly staff, along with the beautiful facilities, made my stay truly unforgettable.
