Hotel Lago Di Garda

We had a mixed experience here.
Service: almost not existing at the reception and during breakfast
Room: poor WiFi, broken light
Breakfast: good selection, but refill takes time.
Miscellaneous: parking is about 15 walking minutes away, thin walls
So overall, we will not come back it’s not a great value for money

Good central location for a good price. Room was modern, clean and a good size.

However, I can't give it more than 3 stars for a few reasons. Firstly it is really quite noisy. Not with noise from the street but from within the building, people coming back late at night etc. The cleaner also started hoovering the hallway outside our room every morning between 8.15 and 8.25am. Secondly, I found it odd that there were no proper curtains, just a very thin pair to obscure the view from the street, but they did nothing to stop light coming in. Thirdly, the breakfast buffet was a bit of a disappointment. Whilst there was a reasonable selection, it was not kept restocked and things kept running out despite there only being a handful of guests at breakfast. I don't believe that in the context of Covid, a buffet breakfast can ever be 'safe' with everyone handling all the same things before using their hands to eat. There was no attempt to improve this e.g. with hand sanitizer around the buffet or any signs asking people to wear masks at the buffet. I don't think the staff were very attentive. It was always difficult to locate a member of staff at breakfast to ask for simple things like hot water.

Overall, I don't regret choosing this hotel as the room was clean and comfortable with a good location, but a few small changes could have really improved the experience.
