The hotel is very welcoming. A few minutes walk close to the main train station and bus terminus.
The reception was quite helpful giving us assistance when required.
The hotels "crotta" (restaurant) is one of the best in the village offering a variety of traditional dishes as well as contemporary cuisine.

Nice hotel, close to the train station of Chiavenna and with wonderful view from the windows. Not the most modern but very comfortable and clean! :)

Positives are the location which is very convenient to walk around and the friendly front desk's staff.
Negatives, let's start with the ugly old unpleasant looking rooms. The furniture is like from the 60s, the mattress is not bad if you are knocked out from drinking and I don't know how to describe it but I would say at least hang a curtain so the water doesn't spill all over. One has to keep the water running because it is a hassle to switch to the shower head.
The breakfast was the worst I've ever had, the bread rolls are so hard you literally can can break a window or kill someone if you throw one at, 2 cheap different cheeses and 2 dry cold cuts, the coffee tastes bad and the only fruit is slices of watermelon which hardly anyone touches. The first morning we tried one of the cakes which tasted like fish, probably was stored in the fridge where they have fish or seafood. I am very disappointed because they can offer a way better breakfast with low cost.
That was our experience and we won't do it again

Beautiful hotel. Located close to train and bus station. Very high quality service. Staff were very accommodating to the dietary requirements. And we enjoyed our stay in Chiavenna very much!

We ended up staying to this hotel by chance! rooms are clean with a beautiful window view. they also have a pretty good bar. breakfast is also really good. we enjoyed our night at the bar meeting friendly people, and also the staff and the owner are very nice people. Giving this overall a 5 star base on my experience. would recommend and would go back and stay here!

Booked a via spluga tour. Bad service in restaurant. Room OK but not very good.

Eating at the restaurant: food was good. Staff could have been more attentive. Long waits between courses. Prices at the higher end. Waitress was friendly.
