The hotel is situated on a cliff top in Porto Ercole, on the Peninsula of Monte Argentario. It offers a private rocky beach and a swimming pool with heated sea water. The hotel has a choice of two restaurants: the gourmet restaurant Il Pellicano, Michelin-starred, gourmet meals, and Pelligrill restaurant with sea views serves Tuscan cuisine. The elegant rooms are decorated in Tuscan style. Great place for a relaxing or romantic getaway.

Location: on a cliff top in Porto Ercole, on the Peninsula of Monte Argentario, 166 km from the airport of Rome, 206 km from Florence airport.

Consists of one 3-storey main building and several cottages.

The hotel has 50 rooms.

Beach: private beach platform at 30 m from the hotel (1st coastal line). Sun beds, umbrellas - free of charge. The length of the beach - 50 m.

This is a highly overrated run down hotel and property. Hotel rooms were old and tired. Ours had a window housekeeping was stationed outside and could look directly in the bathroom. Service is terrible. I had to refill my own water throughout the dinner, could not find a server to place an order, covered in smoke from multiple tables done with their food who chose to sit in the restaurant and smoke cigarettes and cigars. Terrible experience for $400euro dinners. Misquitos everywhere. Absolutely disgusting. Nothing to do. Drive is a swamp to the hotel so that checks out for the bugs. We stayed one night and wanted to leave the next morning. Hotel refused to refund even with the issues we brought up. Pool was disgusting and old. "Beach club" was hot and chairs were plastic folding. What a joke. Would never go back and will advise friends to do the same.

We were so looking forward to our stay at this iconic hotel but unfortunately it fell short and I would not return. The grounds/furnishings are tired and could be updated in a way sensitive to its history. The casual restaurant for lunch & dinner looks very plain and the food there and at breakfast is a 7 out of 10. If the hotel reads the reviews and doesn’t just automatically post a standard reply that would know this and have chosen not to address it. The lunch menu by the water is overpriced and with a poor selection. The f&b service throughout the hotel is poor and unfriendly/disorganised. The reception staff are lovely and helpful but unfortunately the food really lets this hotel down. As another guest said they have us captured food wise (there are no food options nearby) and so don’t try hard. Mezzatorre food is next level and Il Pellicano could learn a lot from it and the service culture there.

Hotel Il Pellicano was simply amazing - from top to bottom and from start to finish! We were there with a group of 10 of us from Toronto (Canada) - and the amenities, location, service, and attention to detail... OUTSTANDING! A huge shoutout to Nick in the restaurant who served and entertained us on our last night and made our time there that much more memorable (and kudos to the chefs as well!). Thank you from the 319 gang!

We had an exceptional experience at Hotel Il Pellicano - the grounds are beautiful; our room was cozy and clean; the Michelin menu + wine pairings were outstanding; and the seaside lounging experience was relaxing and well serviced. We intend on returning next year for a summer getaway.

From the beautiful view to the exquisite room enough cannot be said. The cuisines are impeccable, thank goodness for stairs to work it off. The staff is not-only pleasurable but professional. The boat captain was informative and we enjoyed. Also left sunglasses and they made sure for their return. Marco helped us. We will be back for another day in Paradise. Ty The Manganellis
The only thing we could of added was a hot tub. But the sea was incredible

I already said everything on Tripadvisor...one of the last iconic hotels in Italy and in the world...impeccable friendliness and professionalism of the staff...special greeting to the bartender Federico: a gentleman from another time, always in touch, always attentive with discretion, always in the TOP. My wife and I greatly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Il Pellicano. The entire staff was extremely friendly and attentive. The food was wonderful, the views were beautiful, and we’d recommend this place to any couples looking for a getaway. Thank you for a terrific honeymoon!
