Borgo Grondaie

This is tremendous value if you are on a road trip, particularly with children, looking for a base in Tuscany. The apartments are spacious and excellently furnished. You can easily prepare your own meals if desired. There is lots of space outside with tables, chairs, pool, etc. There is a washing area. The hotel is in the country just outside Siena, but 3 minutes walk from a huge modern Coop supermarket. It is 10 minutes walk from the main train and bus station. It is easy to visit Florence, San Gimignano, Montepulciano, and Pisa or Perugia (both by FlixBus) from here. The breakfast is enjoyable. The fruit salad and prosciutto especially good. If a buffet does exist, it will be in summer. Breakfast must be chosen the night before in person or by internet. This is not the first time we have encountered this system in Italy, and for us it is not a problem. The rooms are super hot in winter (too hot for us but this is easy to fix via the heating system and windows). They are also big on deodorants — again windows help. The clientele seem a nice mix, with other families present. The dining area has lots of board games available.

A beautiful location! Surrounded by wildlife and countryside while also being very accessible to Siena and nearby shops. I loved my stay here and will be sure to return when I’m in the area. The staff at the hotel are lovely and attentive. We enjoyed use of the bbq and watched a beautiful sunset and also the pool was ideal and never too busy. The breakfast is fresh, tasty and had all you could want. Would recommend this hotel to all. Thank you to the staff at Borgo Grondaie for your hospitality!

The location and grounds are amazing as well is the staff. The rooms on the other hand leave a bit to be desired. While everything you may need is there, the furnishings, appliances, and fixtures are well dated.

The walls are also quite thin and on our second night we were awakened multiple times by the people above us. We could hear every footstep on the tile floors and most of what they were saying.

I’ve just stayed at Borgo Grondaie for three weeks and absolutely loved it. I am already planning my return next year. I had a lovely apartment with a terrace not far from the saltwater pool. The location was fantastic for me - I could easily drive to see friends I have who live close by, the train station is nearby also, as well as the escalator up to Siena. Having a supermarket 5 mins walk away was a bonus. The team at Borgo Grondaie are all so lovely and helpful. It was a really nice balance of a lovely peaceful rural setting with the benefits of Siena being so close by.

We had a great stay here, with a special shoutout to the staff who were all so brilliant. They were friendly and helped however they could. The hotel is wonderful, with super grounds including a charming BBQ offer. The location is a little far from town so I wouldn’t advise staying here unless you have a car, are happy to pay €12ish for a taxi into town, or enjoy a 45 min walk. As it was very hot when we visited, we found that the walk was quite exhausting to do both ways.

We had a beautiful and tranquil weekend at Borgo Grandaie. The rooms were simple but fully kitted with AC and everything else one would need for a weekend away. We booked the barbeque facilities and had a lovely sunset barbeque on the hillside. The pool adds an extra sense of relaxation and is well stocked with loungers and chairs which are available throughout the day. The breakfast service is very well priced and has a large selection of foods for all dietary preferences. We didn't get to use the bike rental service but I can imagine it's a brilliant place to do so. The staff were available, friendly and helpful at all times. Would highly recommend 👌🏼

Such a cute and quaint boutique hotel! The rooms are modest and clean and the breakfast was great. The staff are very helpful and friendly. It's a good overnight just outside the walled city in siena. Definitely worth the value!

Hotel Borgo is an absolute DREAM hotel from the cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, delicious breakfast and the pool setting tucked away up on a hill overlooking Siena with refreshing saltwater amazing for your skin.
We could not have been happier staying here and did not want to leave.

The room was a little dated, but it did the trick. Very helpful and friendly staff, but also not much around the hotel other than a big Coop supermarket, which was convenient.
