Nice hotel with all required facilities. Neat rooms & bathrooms. A bit far from Milan city centre. Also, nearest train station is about 2Km away.

This is a very good hotel, we stayed 3 nights, the room was comfortable, warm & cozy, with big windows and a balcony.. hotel has parking, lobby is spacious & modern, staff were very nice & friendly. This hotel is 35 minutes drive to Lugano in Switzerland, 45 minutes to lake Como

Tea Coffee Cream sachets should be given for having tea at room

A long time ago it was good place, but now a lot of things should be fixed or replaced. But breakfast was very good

Hotel is the middle of nowhere… It was a terrible experience. Room was extremely dirty ( partially cleaned after previous guest). bidet, unflushed urine in the toilet, uncleaned washbasin, tube was covered by grease spots and hairs… my complain was ignored by reception and I had to buy some staff for cleaning and cleaned my room by myself. Daily room service was also very bad: no intimate products...

The hotel was excellent, right from the moment we arrived the staff were very helpful and the rooms were beautiful, comfortable, clean, and the shower ample and warm. The pressure was not great, however. I recommend you skip the hotel's restaurant, as it was quite expensive and pretty middle of the road. The bar by the pool had much more honest offerings and we had a great pinsa for the light lunch...

Has aged a bit, the historic flair is still feelable. Nice garden and view over the lake. Breakfast was good, table in the evening without reservation impossible. Confused staff gave 3 different information... Snack on the terrasse not really 'italian' - toast came with chips... Pricelevel on the terrasse not matching. Batchroom was incredible small. Century+ hotel so the rooms were dated. After at least a decade, came across rooms with real key (see photo). Great venue, service was very good. The views were breathtaking.

The restaurant here is great. Rooms are spacious. Air conditioning was turned off when we visited and would have just opened the windows except there was a storm.

Nice hotel, good for a short stay on your way to somewhere else. Not advisable for a stay of more than two nights. Rooms are clean but no possibilties for storage. Bathroom and amenities good, breakfast standard to good. Personnel works very hard, most of them are friendly. Pool not heated, so good to cool down. Parking perfect, just like approachability.

This hotel was very nice! Spacious rooms, large bathroom and shower. Excellent lighting and airflow. A full-length mirror, a mini fridge, complimentary waters, and a peaceful exterior. The beds were comfortable with two pillows each. We had a 2 twin bedroom. The dining area for dinner and breakfast were beautiful and elegant. The entire hotel is one-level (bedsides the dining area) which is great...

Really big rooms with kettle and free water. Beds were comfortable. Our breakfast and dinner were really tasty. Bar was very nice. In a quiet spot out of town but if you have a car this is a perfect quiet place to stay. Bathroom was a great size also and room for luggage in the room.

The staff was very kind and accommodating. I would highly recommend staying here to be immersed in the beautiful surrounding nature.

Convenient and clean Clean, welcoming, modern hotel. Convenient rooms with personal parking immediately outside the external door. Restaurant area a little functional (made for business gatherings). Stay slightly impacted by total powercut for a few hours, meaning they could serve no hot food that evening

Very nice hotel located in old villa. Room was nice and clean, very comfortable and spacious. Good looking garden with nice view outside. This place has free big parking space, gym, pool and wifi connection. Breakfast was good enough but without unnecessary splendor. Staff are nice and friendly.

Okay with the offer we had. We were three people staying in a room. Plenty of space, but they replaced our towels and only left two, and then seemed oddly reluctant to gives us a third towel (we had booked and paid for all three people).

Great hotel. I you're not an animal lover, don't be put off by all the dog photos on the sites. It is pet friendly but also friendly to humans! Rooms were very clean, breakfast was ok, location is good andc service was friendly.

The place is a very beautiful 1800-century style hotel. It the rooms are great, especially for families. The breakfast is also good and the pool is nice. The view is fantastic as it is located up in the mountain near the city of Varese.

Nice Hotel. Old of cause, but that is what it should be since this is a historical building. The rooms are spacious, clean and modern though still kept in old style. Only thing not so good. Since it is part of the Accor Group it should also be part of their Le Club Accor but it's not. Why don't they want to acknowledge loyal customers?

Wellness hotel at the limits of Varese city, close to lakeside (Capolago) and related parks. Wide , well furnished (wooden rural , not modern), large baths and shower. Great breakfast including fresh fruit, sweets, dairy and some meat items. The huge gym&wellness area, as well as the outdoor garden pool (summer only) are the pearl of the place. FYI - spa area closes at 20.00 a bit too early maybe...

There were many plants around, and many bugs crawled in through the windows. Later, I went to the front desk and was asked to change rooms. People in the rooms next to me were talking and laughing loudly in the middle of the night, without caring about the feelings of the surrounding tenants. The fragrance in the room was a bit pungent, and the accommodation experience was a bit poor.

Great breakfast, good location, nice pool and great staff! However, the rooms feel very outdated and the tv is hardly usable.

We had a nice stay and the hotel which is very ok for the price you pay. The pool was a bit small, so was the room, the breakfast was nice even though the food ran low all the time. The service lady tried her best but alone she hardly could manage - this is a management problem and not hers. The reason why I put 5 stars is the dedication of the staff. Rooms are nice and comfortable! Bathroom are quite nice and the shower excellent! Great breakfast, sweetness, coffee, cappuccino and other stuff ( fruits salads, yogurt, ham, various types of cheese etc). Staff are nice persons and very professional in every moment of the day.

Hotel rooms are very small and the bathrooms too. Complimentary breakfast was really bad. They were serving rotten fruits.

The plus points are cost, €70 for a night seems reasonable to me, location is fine very much in town. Parking I used a nearby carpark which was €30 for a night which is steep. The bathrooms are large and the one in my room had recently been done up and was excellent. Rooms need some work and look tired though. Hotel itself is looking old fashioned with old style keys. While this is classified as a four-star, I can't really say I felt like that. To be fair, the staff was very nice, but everything else was below our expectations. And I didn't really have any. The hotel is in a rather old location and seems to not have received any serious update for about 2 decades. Nice clean hotel with very friendly helpful staff. Parking (extra fee) directly accessible. Close to city center and station. Fulfills all needs at a reasonable price. Nice place to stay for a visit of Milano and EXPO as well.

This is definitely not a 4 star hotel!. The restaurant is separated from the hotel so forget about even going for a coffee or a glass of wine. They won’t serve you unless you are eating dinner, which means there is no bar at the hotel! The room is average, noisy street , no service whatsoever. Beautiful small hotel. It's a self check-in and only has a few rooms so it's quiet and airy and has a wonderful classic decor. The adjecant restaurant is closed on Sunday and Monday and serves as breakfast room as well. Rooms are spacious and minimal in design and have all necessary amenities. There's a garden & terrace used by the restaurant where you can spend an afternoon reading under the trees

It’s not a 4 star hotel any more as it’s old and not much updated so it feels like from the 90s . However a very good location for restaurants and shopping and nice staff so it’s ok.

In life it is often better to undersell one’s greatness and on this occasion the fact that it does not deserve its stars plagued us. Good location, starters and mains were amazing, presentation of the food was wonderful, the service was even more impressive, spotless. Desert was just the cherry on top of the cake, absolutely mind blown with the whole experience!!

Beautiful countryside restaurant and hotel. We went there for a wedding ceremony and reception. The garden allows for catering outside and kids to play. The restaurant room is beautifully restored. The food and drinks offering is of great quality (meat is superb, courgette flowers tempura among the best I have ever had).

Been there for a party. Very nice place, well furnished with antiquity and modern mixed in a good fashion. Very good finger food, high quality and genuine taste. I enjoyed the afternoon with my child.

Went for lunch. Nice place with beautiful view. Excellent food. Alas I visited during covid so I could try only the bistrot and not the restaurant. Only 4 stars because the table column didn't allow for comfortable seating, but that was our table only, other tables seemed ok.

Every dish in this restaurant is a work of art. Anyone, who knows how to enjoy life should visit this wonderful place one day...

We were well looked after both with super fine dining and in the beautifully decorated rooms. The views are stunning from the terraces and the balconies which all rooms have. We would recommend it to anyone.

Awesome location with a great view over Varese and surrounding lakes, very piece full location if you want to relax! The food in the restaurant is of a very good quality, what tastes even better with a good glass of wine. The staff is with one word amazing 🙂 always friendly and willing to help you, especially Carmen is funny and always smiling!

Very nice and relaxing atmosphere on top of the Sacro Monte. The feeling you get coming up here is one of great excitement and relaxation. You can have a glass of wine, and all you can here is the wind and the crickets. On a good day from the terrace, you can see all the way to Milan, which is 70km away, and if you turn around, you can see the french alps. What a great place. But they are not happy...

It is difficult to find the destination and parking is a big problem. Friendly staff. The tower room has a great view down to the city and the lakes, but is €190 a night too much in September? The Italian breakfast was modest. The cleaning was not up to a good standard. The restaurant was the most expensive during our 10-day trip to Italy. We've been here once, we won't go here again.

Spectacular views but very narrow road up the mountain not suitable for larger vehicles. Staff were complaining about re-entering hotel after midnight if we went out which seems absurd as it is clearly a 24 hour operation.

The view from the terrace is exceptional. I wouldn’t normally comment on the music and ambience but that was great too. The food and drink was exactly what we needed after a long climb to the top. Also - you should read about the building with all the antennas coming out of it. There’s a cool story and rich history behind it 👀

I booked this place on a hunch for a night on our way from Germany to France. I am very sad that I cannot give 5 stars and I consider the 4 stars pretty generous. I knew the rooms were pretty simple but when making the reservation I figured the views out of the rooms would totally make up for it and make our brief stay extra special. Really friendly staff and great location: easily accessible by car - with a private (free) parking - and yet, it is directly at the beginning of the city pedestrian center. Since our last stay a few years ago, the hotel has been nicely refurbished

Rooms are moderate, not very spacious, but enough for your needs. I dont know Italian at all. But staff was very friendly, and felt like home. Reception is very helpful and breakfast staff is very friendly and helpful too. Breakfast selection is moderate as well. Stayed here twice over a period of 1 year for 4-5 days each time.

Staff is very friendly especially the madam serving the breakfast. Room is good. Breakfast is excellent with many varieties. The chocolate cake is the best cake I ever tasted! Location of the hotel is great. The only drawback is that the Air conditioning is very weak.

Shower was quite small and I am not a big guy. Overall room was good (clean and not too hold). However, some cons: Two single beds to make one large bed come on... thats make nice middle crack. Both mattress were stiff. Chair for deskwork is so bad, hard for back and not confortable at all. WiFi was not too bad, i"ve seen worse. They had power outlet adapter at reception which comes handy since I forget...

Good service, although you mayhave to wait if you are a large group (I recommend to book in advance). We also recommend the outside sitting area facing the lake. The food is excellent value for money. Excellent beef tartare and wide choice of pasta, secondi carne e pesce ( meat and fish). Enjoy your stay by the picturesque lake of Varese.

Absolutely the best place to stay in Varese. This hotel should be 5 stars. Beautiful comfortable place, fantastic hotel personel, great food, great location (especially for MV Agusta enthusiasts as it is opposite the factory). Look no further!

Friendly staff & nice rooms. On the lake and beside the MV Augusta motorcycle factory. Free parking was a bonus since the fun fair was in town and insanely crowded. We enjoyed the included breakfast as well.

A really cosy, homey hotel, perfect, very friendly service and atmosphere with a stylish variety. Every room is different and lovely designed. Excellent food, very reasonable prices, great breakfast and the perfect location in the centre, a quiet corner with everything in walking distance. We stayed 4 nights and love to come back! We absolutely recommend it!

Been there for dinner, great aperitivo, really good pasta and a waiter who went the extra mile to make us feel like at home. Definitely worth a visit. Reservation recommended.

What a lucky find. We needed a cost effective stay for our halfway stop on the way to our final destination, what a lucky find. The staff is super accomodating the rooms are clean and have the basic amenities, but what was best is the included breakfast. The Cappuccino is amazing, the Cornetti to die for. Would absolutely recommend!

Needed a room for the night with my family and found this hotel online. We showed up in the evening and was greeted by a lovely staff who quickly helped us check in on our room. Throughout our visit all the staff was very helpful and always available. The location was great and the breakfast was delicious and local. No complaints!

Very comfortable hotel with great management and staff. They helped us out with umbrellas when it rained and, more importantly we’re so honest and helpful when we left our credit card in the room and checked out. The hotel is next to a railway but the trains go slow passed the building and don’t run through the night. Alberto and the team will take care of you completely..

I was in this hotel for one night in July. The price is very good and they were very 🙂. We decided to return the week after for two nights and we got an upgrade ☺️. They team there are very nice, I highly recommend and will return for sure every time I pass through Varese or near to it ☺️

We were here because of a rowing tournament. Great place! Very spacious room and very very clean. The breakfast was great and they always provided us with enough food, even for us 5 big athletes. The staff was friendly and accommodating and I would definitely recommend this place to everyone.

Spent a night at the Hotel Ungheria on our motorcycle trip in July 2020. Upon arrival we were greeted with kindness from all staff members. A safe car/motorcycle parking is available behind the hotel. They have a bar / terrace at the front. Rooms are super clean and tidy, with ample space and good light. Windows have blinds as well. Despite getting rooms overlooking the street, no noise came through...

We spent only one night here. The hotel room was clear, but nothing special. In a room with four beds we got only one seat.

This is such a lovely spot to stop by for a drink or to grab lunch. I visited this place on both occasions. The view of the mountain and the lake is surreal. Great wine list for aperitivo or a full meal. service staff were very friendly. Great experience all around.

Amazing place! Ambience, interior, service, everything is on top. Very pleasant and responsive staff, delicious dishes. We celebrated our wedding and I had the most pleasant impressions of the day. And their specialty aperitif is a separate compliment to the restaurant. I will definitely come more often, it is now my favorite place.

As much as we love the restaurants, we disliked the stay. Beautiful old house in the mountain with a breathtaking view. HOTEL: 2x big disappointments: (1) the room was dusty, (2) the walls are very thin…, (3) the ratio value/money is very low. RESTAURANT: Everything is outstanding: location, service, food. The food was exceptional. You can’t leave without trying their amaro!

Only problem was it was supposed to be adult only hotel but this particular week it was open as a Harry Potter week and children and private parties were also enabled to turn up.
