M Boutique Hotel

Booked for two nights but decided to change to another hotel after one night. The hotel has done much for its decor, yet one can't help but wish that similar efforts have been put in to ensure a more comfortable stay for the guests. The suite room is spacious, the toilet is clean and has a proper door. Many decorative items in the room and some seem to need a good dust. Unfortunately, we failed to get a good rest. For a start, the wooden floorboards throughout the hotel really amplify every movement of each guest, especially if they are dragging their luggage. In the morning, you can hear the staff going about their housekeeping chores too. The lack of sound insulation is painfully obvious when you could hear the loud music from the pub across the hotel. The pub opens till early in the morning and the electronic dance music continues till then. A check with the hotel staff reveals that they have made a police report but nothing much could be done. During our stay, there was a very strong air freshener scent in the room which could be irritating if you have a sensitive nose. Could it be an attempt to cover other odours? One can't help but wonder. One thing that we do like about the hotel is they provide the use of washing machine and dryer. Nothing much in the area so we used e-hailing services to get around.
