Sabah Oriental Hotel

Like most reviews on here I found this hotel in dire need of renovation as everything is very old and warm out. Having said this the staff are amazing, particularly the reception as they made all the difference. Location is ok however be prepared for a 15 minute walk to where the action starts. Best part was the pool after any sort of time out in the heat and humidity the pool was a blessing, cool and refreshing. Additionally the restaurant where breakfast was reasonably priced, high quality and plenty of it. Caters for both Eastern and Western tastes.
To the owners, about time your profits are reinvested into the property. To the staff, we’ll done, I commend you as your conditions are less than ideal.

I got a nice 2 single bed room. Spacious, good lighting. Mini bar available but empty. Good bathroom. Got iron and ironing board For muslims, there are 'gayung', sejadah and 'kain sarung'.

This hotel is worth it paying for a 3 star hotel. The breakfast are okay and i get to sit outside at the patio! Amazing. The scenery arent great since the river is dirty. The room is really dusty. Seems like no one has been in there for quiet sometimes. The facilities are really way behind compared to the next door hotel. I could just walk over to the bank.
