Nice location with beautiful beach and clean sea. Unfortunately 2 of the resort restaurants were closed, lack of food variety. Staff nice and helpful. Certain hotel and public areas would require renovation/upgrade. Absolute highlights are the monitor lizards and monkeys freely moving on hotel premises.

The hotel is only 5 minutes from the city centre and easily accessible using grab mostly. The room is spacious and comfortable. The breakfast is good and got many choices such as plain/chicken porridge, breads, soup and salads. But better go down early as there is so many visitors.

Everything was perfect. The pools, the rooms and the food was so good. Lots of activities for kids. Also very very relaxing: drinks served to the pool. I’d go back there again 😀.

Sorry RRR, maybe I was having a high expectation. I waited for 45 min to check-in (From 3pm-3:45pm) but the service staff was great and helpful with our bags to the room. Terrible experience no water in the hotel from night until next day 2pm. No action taken by the hotel. After numerous complaints and complaint to trip.com they send me bottles water for me to shower. The hotel has a good view of the islands and jetty as shown in the pictures . The cleanliness of the the hotel is worrying as a Marriott entity . The Klagan Hotel is in a super convenient spot right in the heart of Kota Kinabalu. You’ve got shopping malls, local markets, restaurants, and night markets all within walking distance. Although the resort facilities is not as expected as 5 stars hotel but I would say the warm and friendly smile from all the staffs and crew make it very special. The food is good, staff is very attentive and hardworking. Always serve with sincerity and smile. So far one of the warmest resort I ever stay before in sabah or even in Malaysia.

Strategically located in the heart of the city at an affordable price. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Check-in was rather slow. The room service took quiet some time to provide the additional bed we requested upon check-in. Room was equipped with basic necessities, save for hair dryer. Hotel interior is a bit outdated but it's comfortable, clean, and well-kept nonetheless.

Room is specious for one person but outside is noisy, i hear door banged throughout the night, didn’t get a peaceful sleep. Another downside is that you have to pay parking fees at every entry of the parking space. I see small vehicle parked at the loading area while there is a notice mentioned only for loading area. The room comes with hair dryer but i didn’t see one provided. It says 5 star hotel...

The hotel is in a great location, opposite the largest shopping mall in Kota Kinabalu, which is only a five-minute walk away. The B&B is also very close to the airport, and can be reached in ten minutes if there is no traffic jam.

We had the best time in Gaya Island Resort, it was my anniversary staycation with the kids. This place is so clean and beautiful like a paradise. The staff all are so friendly. We even get free upgrade room. The breakfast have a lot of choices. The kids has so much fun in the pool. We will definitely be back. Highly recommend if you want to bring your kids for vacation here.

Lovely place. Alcohol is expensive (38rm) for half a beer. I enjoyed my 2 night stay. It's a busy island with tourists from the mainland till 4pm but they all go home at 4 pm and then you basically have the island to yourself. Just you, a few other guests, and the army of staff.

really like this hotel. classic colonial style very well maintain and at a very strategic location at the middle of the town with all the buzling city lights. it was a short stay and haven't have a chance to try their food. will definitely be back again and already in my top prefered list.
