Hotel A la Mer

The hotel itself is fine. Good location. Clean rooms. Good breakfast. Unfortunately it appears at least one staff member is dishonest. We left cash etc inside the locked safe in our room when we went out for the day and discovered as we were getting ready to leave that some of our cash had been taken from the safe. We discussed with on site manager and they have reviewed security tapes and discussed with housekeeping who deny being in our room. However, we know someone was in our room as the beds had been made up while we were away. I hate writing negative reviews but only fair to warn people.

We stayed several nights here in August and the overall experience was good. Nice rooms, good breakfast, great location. However, you are strongly advised to use the safe that is provided in the room and so we did. Only to find that on are departure money was missing from our safe. ( given that in remote areas you need cash we had brought quite some money with us and checked it regularly to ensure we could buy fuel) We reported the missing money to reception and were promised a follow up which never happened. Very disappointing. It’s not the amount , it’s the feeling of being tricked that’s annoying.
