Sanatorium Uzdrowiskowe Augustów in Augustow

We stayed here for a night when looking for accommodations in the Augustow, and we had a lot of positives about the stay, but wanted to note a few things.. it was in a lovely location in the woods, on the lake near a ton of incredible biking/walking trails and parks/water access, etc. To clarify: although we booked on hotels.com, I think it's more a wellness resort (hence the name sanatorium we realized) than a hotel, and the focus is on those needing physical rehabilitation or wellness/medical treatments, as there were doctors' offices in the building and a gym with PT equipment. The room was basic; small, a bit stuffy but peaceful at night with the door open but eventually it was too loud so we had to shut it, and the AC didn't decrease in temperature. They gave us two twin beds which were fine, but we only got one pillow, and when I asked for a second one from the front desk at 10PM, the man working seemed frustrated with the request (I did not speak the language so I understand that) but with a translator, he flat out said no to our request for a pillow. I'm not sure why, but for a place that has a focus on wellness, and considering I needed the pillow bc of a knee injury, I would hope they'd be more accommodating. The view of the woods from the room was lovely, there was a lot of smoke wafting in with the doors open, but I know that's to be expected in Europe. The breakfast buffet was included and had fresh, healthy and tasty options (so much better than an American hotel), and all the other staff members were very friendly, despite us only speaking English and knowing only a few words in Polish. It's about a mile walk to town, and it was a bit pricy without any included services, and it was busy early with many people coming in for appts, which could be a pain if you're not an early riser. I think it just depends on what you're looking for. Hope these details are helpful to some trying to decide/understand!
