Well it's a bit weird in decorations but we'll staffed, cleaned and seems quite secure. No electronic locks. We had trouble with our key but they helped us out fast enough.

450 baht for a nice room. The a/c works well, the WiFi is good enough to watch videos, and the hot water is both hot and comes out with lots of pressure. I must be used to the beds here now, as they didn't feel to hard, but the pillows are great compared to most Thai hotel pillows. Location is good. I would stay return to this hotel.

Been in Thailand for over 3 weeks touring from north to south and this hotel for value has been by far the best of them all

The rooms are kinda old but spacious. They have a very cool gym that makes up for the renovations that would be necessary.

Stayed for 1 night on a bike trip to Phayao and chose this hotel as other hotels on the waterfront were sold out. The hotel was fine for 1 night but certain electrical outlets didn’t work, the water in the shower wasn’t super hot all the time (or after 5-10 mins became cold), and the rooms are a little dated. It was under THB 1000 so I think you can find better value elsewhere.

Excellent staff, adequate gym and well maintained rooms. We had a slight mishaps with staff at first but they then made up and helped accommodated our request. For that, it made our experience at Gateway exceptional. For a hotel gym it is decent (4.5/5) and I would consider booking with them again just to access this facility. Although an older hotel, they have kept up and maintained adequately...

The room is a little old but it is spacious. I slept well on the bed but my husband complained it is a little hard. The breakfast spread is decent.

We had a clean and comfortable room with a beautiful view of Phayao lake. We also had the chance to swim in the pool although the water was so cold :) Breakfast here was better for this price range.

Nice design, clear and clean rooms. Nice personnel, easygoing. Flexible to bikers who are allowed to take their bike to the room. Rooms at lakeside are precious. Other rooms mostly lack view.. Breakfast is basic. Ideal position for walking along the lake as it is situated near the water. Lots of restaurants, coffeeshops and stores around. Sunset is spectacular.

This hotel is mostly very good. -The owner helped me find a motorbike rental and gave me a lift into town m -The breakfast was great- served at the little cafe at the front of the building -The building is modern and very clean m It would be great if they could add a few more things to the rooms (bedside tables) and some softer lighting. Very nice hotel. I stayed there few times! It’s little old but it’s very clean and well maintained. It’s very close to the bus station and all the markets. Very kind and welcoming staff. There is bicycle that you can use to go around the town. There is also free coffee in the morning. The room is very spacious and very clean. For that price, it’s a great deal. Highly recommended!

The hotel is good with the swimming pool, but the location is not good, and because of construction from the other building, now the air is not clear nearby and the view of the lake is really bad now. Breakfast is not really qualified with its price. You deserve better place with this price.

Good service, delicious porridge in the morning. Poached eggs are good. There is a balcony, sitting in front of the room, but in the evening a lot of mosquitoes. If you are going to sit, you should prepare to prevent mosquitoes too. Pass often and will definitely rest again.

Good atmosphere, suitable for family (if you have children, be careful of noise. because the floor is wood walk will be loud can disturb the room below) At the mouth of the alley, walk a little, it will be a pier across to Wat Klang Kwan.

Great place to stay. Only stayed one night but really enjoyed the stay here. The owners were very friendly and I was sad to leave. Hope I can return here again one day. The room was spotless and the breakfast delicious.

The guesthouse is managed and very well looked after by a lovely couple who can provide all kind of information about the area. He even drew us a map for the next temples to visit on our way to Lampang. We also had a delicious dinner and breakfast. It's near the highway No.1, so you will hear the passing traffic. This wasn't a problem for us but we think it's worth mentioning. Definitively recommend...

All other hotels near the lake and center were booked up. Great price. At that price, we didn't have high expectations. Beds were very hard, could not turn tv completely off so had to sleep with the blue screen all night, very noisy at night as guests were arriving and hanging out in the hallways. But the A/C worked very well and staff friendly.

Bedrooms are relatively fine. Bathroom and toilet facilities are not so good. Amenities are quite limited. Good location and a lot of car parking spaces. Namon and Jacky (evening and night receptionists) were very nice and helpful. They speak English and have a good sense of humor. The lady at the front reception during day time didn’t understand a word we were asking her and didn’t seem to know much in and around Phayao. Clean and you have to take your shoes off before you step into their lobby. Facilities was okay. Warm water, cool air-con,fridge, tv, wifi are available. People didnt talk too much.

The place is just great, very close to everything. Phayao is small anyways. So comfortable room with plenty of space. Breakfast is also good.

I was not very eager to stop in Phayao on our Thailand trip but the town proved me wrong. Very picturesque lake and sunset is amazing. Hotel was neat and good value for money. It is not lake side but quite near to the lake.

Loved this place...its a homestay..only reason I can think to ding this place is it is somewhat a distance ... like 10 minutes from town...the owner will happily give you a tour of his home which has been modified and looks like a really cool museum..the homestay is centrally located to major temples.. national parks..mountains for those who want to ride bikes in the area ..I will stay here again.
