Baan Manali Resort

We stayed at Baan Manali at the beginning of May 2024. We chose this place because of the good reviews however we cannot fully agree with them. This has mainly to do with two things. During our stay they renovated two Bungalows starting from 9 am to 6 pm. We totally understand that this is necessary but would have loved to get this Information at booking or at least at arrival and maybe to get some compensation for that. If we had known we would not have booked the room.
Secondly we did not find the owners and people at the reception welcoming or friendly. Don‘t misunderstand me - they were not rude or anything like that. But we did not feel that they were happy to have guests at all. Just one example. Asking for restaurants recommendations around the place we were told - it’s close to the main town and there are many places. That was it. We would have hoped for more information especially as we thought this was still a small family-owned Bed and Breakfast and these places usually give you a lot of good tips. Also when we left there was no goodbye or anything from one of the owners passing us.
The room was nice and clean. The aircondition was on top of the drawer around a corner from the bed. For this reason the bungalow did not cool down quickly.
The outer area of the Hotel is well arranged - there is a lot of shade which is quite good especially for families.
We also tried the Israeli breakfast at the ajoined Café which was really good - unfortunately Restaurant closes at 6:30 pm. It would have been great if it opened a little bit longer.
At the end we think we would not stay here again if we come back to Koh Phangan.
