My wife and I stayed at this hotel for three nights with our daugher and dog. At first it feels like the hotel's in the backstreets of Izmir but actually it's located just on the boundary of a lot of amenities, markets – it's also a short walk from the sea. There is a lovely 24/7 bakery serving fresh sweet and savoury delights just a couple of minutes from the hotel. The staff were really warm and friendly. The car park is secure and is attended. Our room was cleaned well every day and breakfast was good. We stayed in December and we did find the room quite warm so we opened the window at night.

Hotel with parking, located in the center of Izmir near the train station. Good breakfast.
However, the night was horrible, even with earplugs, because of the noise generated by machinery. We were in room 105. Unfortunately, the call to the receptionist did not solve the problem. The noise stopped at 0:40 and started again at 4:00 in the morning

We stayed in the Hotel Baylan, Izmir, Turkey with family in March 2019. Our stay at hotel was exceptionally good. The staff especially at the reception were incredibly very polite and cooperative.
Location was excellent, located Infront of Basmane Railway Station with number of food outlets. We took train from this railway station to Ephesus. The rooms was spacious and with full of amenities. The room service was prompt and efficient. Kettle was there in the room to make tea or coffee. Bathroom was also spacious and nice.
Overall, my experience was good in every aspect. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Izmir for its beautiful location with number of Turkish food outlets.

The hotel and the personnel are wonderful. The only problem is the location. Not because it is a dangerous place but it is not easy find upscale restaurants. Other wise, it's not a bad location. The hotel has a parking lot. I highly recommend for a tight budget travel.

PRO: This hotel is well located if you travel by train to or from Basmane station. There is also nearby bus stop for bus no 302 to/from Otogari (intercity bus terminal). This hotel has good size parking spaces too, even a small garden, making it much better choice than other hotels around it. Room is clean, decent size, warm in winter, hot shower, decent breakfast, friendly and polite staffs. It is also decently priced (TL 600 walk-in March 2023; YMMV).
CON: Bathroom smelled little unpleasant after shower. (I have reported this to receptionist. Hopefully hotel will fix this problem).

The hotel is expensive for what you get. The ratio of service to cost is poor and the breakfast is extemely standard in that it doesn't change. I'd expect more from this hotel considering what I had paid.
Furthermore, it can be loud at certain times and the insulation is poor. One can easily here someone talk in corridors.
Situated in a busy junction that has many Syrian Immigrants. It's little Syria rather than Turkey since you won't find many locals residing and living here.
Friday, Saturday and Sundays can be really busy in the basmane area.
The hotel is close to basmane gar metro station which makes it handy. However, the area is a working class area that has welcomed many Syrians from the civil war. So not exactly a true experience of Turkey.
Furthermore, it can be loud at certain times and the insulation is poor. One can easily here someone talk in corridors.

Bad Wifi. My room had loud high pitch sound constantly coming from the pipes every time anyone uses water, day or night. Roosters crow at 4am and 5am every night. They tried very hard to insist on double charging me even though I prepaid using a travel website. Location is pretty good but many homeless and migrants on the street. Clean rooms, nice showers, decent breakfast for the price.

Lovely hotel, crazy good value for money. Just in a slightly strange part of town. But the staff, the breakfast and the room were all lovely.
