Reviews
Second room was like a loft, a little better but still rather sad looking and again, the bathroom really smelled. We nonetheless tried to make do with it till we were disturbed by the water sound coming from the heater. My partner then spoke to Mr Suat, the GM of the hotel about it as the receptionist couldn't get hold of the duty manager. He kindly offered to upgrade our room the next day if his staff couldn't fix it. The water sound was better after they looked at it but then, the ventilation sound in the bathroom drove us nuts. So we moved to another room the next day.
The upgraded room was also small but in a much better condition with a nice view. The bathroom still smelled and I started to think it's some internal piping issue in the hotel.
Cons to consider:
1) Breakfast, lunch and dinner weren't served warm. It astounds me how food is served cold here, every single meal we had in our 4-day stay. It honestly is something so basic - serving warm/hot meals to guests.
2) Beds are very tiny and uncomfortable. They are so short in length, you'll find your legs just dangling off the bed
3) As mentioned above, bathrooms really smell.
4) Rooms seem neglected and worn-out.
Pros to consider:
1) The staff are so so lovely and nice- full of smiles and professionalism! It honestly made our stay so much better. They generally speak English and the young servers at the hotel restaurant speak very fluent English.
2) The hotel have their own sport store where you can rent all your ski/snowboarding equipments. We have walked around and checked out other rental shops nearby but we find the one at the hotel to be the most proper, hygienic, roomy and comfortable. THIS IS A HUGE SELLING POINT OF THE HOTEL ASIDE FROM THE LOCATION. We really felt taken care of. You can even get them to arrange for an instructor for you if need be - even English speaking ones.
3) You'll never go hungry. Aside from the breakfast/lunch/dinner buffet, there's also snack time and soup time in the middle of the night.
To be honest, even though I was displeased with the room, I would definitely stay at Trend Life again. There's a wonderful, positive vibe there which I think has a lot to do with their staff. Please extend our thanks and gratitude to Mr Abdullah, the hotel porter. During the whole of our 4-day stay there, he's been nothing but welcoming, genuine, helpful and extremely professional. I think the hotel is lucky to have him. Even when we were leaving, he was busy shovelling the snow so our car could get out of the heavy snow. He was always helping without even being asked and telling us, ''We would love to see you back at the hotel!''. That's what I call taking pride in your job, kudos!
We would also like to thank Mr. Gülkan and the hotel photographer, Mr. Furkan, for their warm and friendly demeanour, which added to the hotel's welcoming atmosphere.
Mehmet the manager ascorted us and welcomed us along with jansu!
I forgot my jacket in the reception and Mehmet helped delivering it all the way to istanbul to my hotel! Very kind and lovely. Thanks to the team 🤍👍🏻
Very very bad value for money
1. Rooms - very unclean and apparently “cleaned” daily but they just replace the towels, not even sweep the floor. There were bugs on the floor and hairs on the bed and pillows when we arrived and moved in and these things were still there (eww) when we left many days later. This after the room was “serviced” every day. Bathroom not cleaned at all. The shower head did not work.
The beds are super tiny and cheap. Very uncomfortable and poor quality.
2. “Full board and food” we wanted to book without the food option but it is compulsory to pay for full board (all meals included) but there are only 2 options to choose from for each meal (not buffet like advertised) , either fish or chicken and beef. That’s it. And cold French fries. I am vegetarian so I had nothing to eat there. I had to live off stale chips and had eventually had to pay to eat at other hotels with proper food like pasta and pizza. Despite already paying thousands of lira for “full board”
The other hotels had brilliant food, variety, ala carte, real food and fresh food. Trend life however, had stale food and 2 meal options only. It was extreme poor quality like canteen at school or prison.
3. The whole hotel is stuffy and smells bad
The walls are paper thin all over hotel including the rooms. Had to lie awake listening to my neighbours “doing it”
4. Temperature problems!! This was terrible - You can’t set the temperature of the room, they choose the whole hotel temperature so you are either dying of heat or dying of cold. I was sweating the room was set so high, and their “fix” suggestion was for us to open our balcony door (which could only open 5cm and then it snowed into the room…)
5. Dark and musty hotel that needs a good deep clean in all the rooms as well as common areas.
6. Very overpriced room service for the same prison food meals you get at the “restaurant”
7. Nothing in mini bar at all
8. Poor quality amenities
9. Everything is expensive (even like laundry), but super poor quality.
10. Bottle of water is 150 lira each
11. No alcohol served at all….
12. Compared to the other hotels everything was very very disappointing like food, quality, cleanliness, space, restaurant, vibe
13. It’s a ski resort but you can’t take in ski gear or boots…. Where must we put them?? There is no place dedicated for gear
14. Around the hotel is very dirty and messy (outside area) lots of mud and building trash it seems. Even the view out window is the dirty back side of the hotel.
15. No shave kits, dental kits etc
16. Very poor quality, cheapest coffee and tea they could possibly buy - horrible, had to go have morning coffee at other proper hotels
17. Spa staff is great but the treatments are extremely overpriced!
18. The rooms are EXTREMELY small. Like there is NO space to walk if you put a suitcase down. It’s the smallest hotel room I have ever seen, with the smallest double bed ever and the worst quality.
I think overall the staff try do their best , but are not trained (to clean or cook etc)
It seems like the owner and management genuinely do not care about anything except sucking cash out of people. Sad experience.
