I've booked this hotel and cancelled during the allowed cancellation period. This was more than one moth ago and, until now, the hotel did not make the refund of the charged amount! They do not answer! Unacceptable!

I had a great time at this place! The staff is so amazing and friendly, especially the young lady Vanessa. I definitely want to come back and spend more time at PiliPili beach house. Asanteni sana 🤍

This place is a scam and a rip off both managers Samir And Zayn are inconsistent and never address the problems, our room lacked a door, hot water and electricity. When we asked for a refund they refused to give us as we had booked through an agent naimrah Issack who claimed that this was the best hotel in Jambiani, she scammed us along with the hotel when we called her to tell her of our issues she brushed off. I would never recommend her or her company to anyone.

Summary : Fantastic staff and a stunning ocean view — but sadly, our stay was overshadowed by near-catastrophic food quality, inconsistent cleaning and maintenance, and routines that simply don’t work. The resort has great potential, but only if management takes serious action. Detailed review Background & overall impression We travelled from Northern Europe with high expectations of a relaxing beach holiday. PiliPili enjoys a superb location and employs a team that genuinely tries to please guests. Unfortunately, numerous practical and quality issues significantly impacted our experience. Positives Staff & service attitude: The restaurant and hotel staff were consistently welcoming, attentive, and genuinely friendly. View: Our room offered a stunning ocean view. Problem handling: There was birds in our room. When we reported this, the issue was resolved quickly but not enough, the birds were still there. They only took away their nest. Development potential: The resort could become a top destination if management addresses its main weaknesses: - Food quality – at times near catastrophic, with some dishes completely inedible and an overall very low standard. - Maintenance and cleaning – inconsistent quality, cleanliness issues (rooms, pool, sinks, mattresses) and disruptive cleaning routines during guest hours. - Organisation and routines – practical details not working smoothly (water replenishment, towel replacement, Wi-Fi structure). - Management issues – unprofessional conduct, questionable guest survey methods, and an impression of lacking honesty. - Confusing hotel identity – frequent name changes and undeservedly high ratings on booking sites, creating a misleading picture for potential guests. Negatives / Areas for improvement Arrival & welcome After a long journey, our luggage was left in reception despite being told it would be delivered to our room. We eventually had to collect it ourselves after an hour. Water & amenities The promised free water amounted to just 0.5 litres per person per day, sometimes not replenished at all. Requests for extra water via housekeeping were unsuccessful. Cleanliness & maintenance Birds and bird droppings inside the room on arrival. Rain leaked into parts of the room. Pool towels were not clean. Pool mattresses smelled strongly of cat urine and were wet after rain. Broken glass shards found on the beach (outside hotel control but still a safety hazard). Two WC/showers in the room with wooden sinks – one was broken and splintered, making it impossible to clean properly. Pool area cleaning took place among sunbathing guests during the day. This should be done early in the morning, just as restaurant cleaning should be done outside dining hours. Food & beverages Food quality was in several cases near catastrophic – some dishes were completely inedible. Overall far below the standard of restaurants further north along the beach. Beer was served flat on multiple occasions. No indication

I'm meant to stay at Pili Pili palm beach in a few weeks and made the reservation via Booking. The hotel took immediately 50% deposit as planned. However, 3 weeks ago they took the other 50%. I've contacted the establishment to mention it and to at least get the confirmation that I wouldn't have to pay anything on site, which they did. 2 weeks ago, they canceled my booking and then disappeared from Booking. I've contacted them and Booking but so far everyone is ignoring me. I don't understand how Booking can remain unwilling to help the people who got scammed.

This Hotel cancelled my booking I made through a well known booking portal without any explanation and transfered my booking directly to their booking system. I am not sure if they are doing this to every customer. The room I originally reserved through this booking portal was an upper floor room with ocean view and balcony but when we arrived at Pili Pili Paradise Beach Hotel they gave us a room on ground floor with pool view altaugh they charged the amount for the Ocean View room. When I told this to the Hotel Manager Mr. Samir, he could not tell us a valid reason and indicated that he will arrange the room next day. When we returned from an excursion late afternoon we hoped that the hotel manager has arranged the room for us but he didn't. He was sitting in the lobby and when I asked him about our upper floor room with ocean view he seemed to have no idea what I am talking about. He again came to me with incosistent statements and told that there was a A/C maintenance in the room and he will send someone to clean the room. After waiting one hour in the lobby I asked the receptionist when we can move to our room. She said that we have to wait another two hours. I was very annoyed and went to see whats going on there. I entered the room tand saw that there was a person laying in the bed and did not check out the room even it was 5.00 PM. I was shocked when I saw this picture. I looked for Samir but he was not around. We had to wait another 2 hours for the previous guests to vacate the room and to be cleaned. There is one more issue that I want tell about is the bad internet connection in the complete facility. If you are in your room and want to connect to internet, forget about it. There is zero Wi-Fi and 4G connection from the rooms.

Very terrible service and zero customer care. They gave us the wrong time for their free snorkelling service, after booking and told us we missed it. Such an inconvenience for our day plans. The bathrooms reeks and is unpleasant.

Don’t visit this hotel!!!!! This has been the most awful experience ever - here are reasons why… 1. There’s ants in the food (we were getting ready to eat our breakfast, then we took a peace of bread - it was FILLED with ANTS and not just a little - it was everywere, everywere!!! When we told the staff they didn’t do anything about it - they just smiled, we didn’t even get a ned plate!!! 2. There’s eggshells in the eggs, that we get each morning - again the staff did nothing about it!!!!! 3. Then we ordered pancakes for breakfast - they were raw!!!!!! (Let’s just say if Gordon Ramsey were here, he wouldn’t be pleased with the food at all) - it’s freaking disgusting!! 4. And if that isn’t enough there is also FILLED with hair in the food!! - again disgusting!! 5. They say that there is free wifi at the hotel, but there isn’t - it isn’t working all the time!!!! 6. The staff is awful - they don’t understand a word of english - when you try order something they dont understand anything at all - it takes them 30min. to get 1 order right! 7. When you get here, you would expect that they have towels for every guest (because it says so on their website) they don’t - we were travelling 10 together only 5 of us got towels - the rest first got the towels after 3 days - they dont have a supplie for every guest! 8. There are huge rats running around at night - because there are garbage laying around - the kids got really scared when they saw the rats, which is understandable!! 9. In generel the staff is very slow - we ordered 2 beers and a mojito - it took them 20 min to get it to us! 10. There aren’t any places where you can sit together and play! 11. The pictures on the website doesn’t live up to the reality at all - it’s completely different - let’s just say you’ll get really dissapointed when you get here!!! So let’s just say that if you are considering going - DON’T!! It’s really, really terrible. I Will diffenitly never be going here again!!!

Pili pili is a dirty, stinky, moldy place. Food is awful. They are cheating bills or cancel your reservation and do not return money. Avoid this place. Scammers!
