I was checked in by a girl who was in training. My room was prepaid so she said she needed my card to charge me $32 for parking. Once I inserted my card and it said approved and asked me to sign, she hit buttons on her computer so she then asked me to insert my card again. When I reached my car I double checked my card and she charged me $300!!! When I went back inside I explained that she only said it would be $32 for parking and she told me that her system glitched and I would receive my money back in the morning. The next morning I went back to her and told her the charges were still there and she tried to tell me it wasn’t her. I clearly remembered she helped me yesterday and asked her why she would lie and she said “oh yeah I did work yesterday” and then told me I’ll just have to wait for the money to get back on my card and that she wasn’t sure and told me I could leave since she checked me out. I’ve stayed here before and never had these issues. She took $300 that I had planned to use on my vacation. She should not be working front desk with a lack of customer service and not being to conduct transactions
I ordered breakfast in restaurant , it was served and was not even warm, I ordered rye toast and was given something else ( white?)

This was one of the worst hotel experiences i have had, primarily because the air conditioning in our room was not working and the hotel response was inadequate. The room was warm when we checked in, and did not cool off despite several attempts to adjust the thermostat. When I finally called the second day, I was told the staff knew the air-conditioning wasn't working, but didn't inform us at all. They did not offer to help us change rooms. They promised a fan, which didn't show until I called again.
They said it was "being worked on," but there was no air conditioning during our 3-night stay.
What frustrated me the most was the lack of communication and response. They did not say anything until we called. There was no offer of extra water, ice, more fans, a different room, or anything.
I stayed at this hotel for five days and four nights, and it was one of the most uncomfortable experiences I’ve ever had. The biggest issue? No air conditioning. In the middle of a warming climate, this was completely unacceptable. The hotel had no immediate solutions—no extra fans, no room changes, nothing. By the third night, they finally managed to provide a fan, but all it did was push the same stifling hot air around. Getting proper sleep was impossible.
To make matters worse, the windows didn’t even open. Unlike better hotels that allow windows to open slightly for fresh air, this room felt like a sealed oven. There was no way to let in any kind of breeze, making the heat even more unbearable.
The discomfort didn’t stop there. The bathroom door was so paper-thin that there was zero privacy. Every little noise carried straight into the rest of the room, making for an awkward and unpleasant experience. And as if that wasn’t enough, the pull-out couch was an absolute joke—completely uncomfortable, even to sit on which was all it was used for.
While trying to avoid the furnace that was our hotel room and hallways we decided to cool down at the patio. Everything was okay until we saw a mouse running across the brick planters. Absolutely disgusting.
A hotel is supposed to provide rest and relaxation, but this stay was nothing but frustration and exhaustion. For the price and expectations, this was a complete failure. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else with proper facilities that will make your stay comfortable and enjoyable and up to par to the health department expectations.
This was such an absolute disappointment to start our vacation with.
First, we booked from the Marriott website and it allowed me to book a suite with club access. We were specifically looking for that amenity for our first trip to see our Capitol. Booking this type of room, of course, meant that it was much more expensive than an average room. Upon arriving, we were informed at check in that there is no club lounge and it is under construction. We were given a voucher for a little (and not good) breakfast buffet in the lobby each morning. When I inquired about the 24/7 access to free soda, water, and other non alcoholic beverages, we were told we could call for a few bottled waters in the room. They then proceeded to give us a coupon for 15% off a drink at their bar in the lobby in replacement of the free cocktail and hors d'oeuvres that we paid to have access to in the evenings.
The front refused to speak about refunding the price difference and felt that free lobby breakfast was enough to account for the hundreds of dollars that I was charged for a service that their own website should not have allowed us to book in the first place, as it was no longer available at their hotel. Upon calling the customer service line, I was met with the same non-resolution and was transferred to a supervisor upon my request. The supervisor was actually apologetic and stated that she tried to call the hotel to speak with the manager but no one was answering her calls. She opened a case and stated that she suggested half off of our stay due to their false advertisement and lack of updating their room availability.
Upon checkout, three days later, I was still told there was no update on the resolution and I’ve yet to hear back from anyone. I was charged full price despite not even using their cheap breakfast coupons. I am now five days post checkout with no resolution and full charges.
The icing on the cake, this hotel is outdated and the one bedroom suite was extremely small. It was very misleading in their photos. It felt dirty. The pull out couch mattress was so thin that my child had to sleep sideways due to the bars jabbing into his back (the frame bars). The ac unit rattled loudly and woke us up multiple times every night.
What a waste of money!
