No longer a Sheraton Hotel. New owners effective 12/1/17. Major remodeling underway so hallways are littered with construction changes. Lobby looks pretty good. Room with king bed still showed signs of recent remodeling - paint flakes inside closet on floor - no waste can in the bathroom. Internet access is good but no instructions were in the room as well as no room service menus available. Front...
Recently stayed at this hotel while visiting my brother. Greeted with friendly, knowledgeable and professional staff. Room was very clean in the bed was very comfortable. And I would highly suggest this hotel for anyone visiting the Burlington area. Very convenient as it is literally right off the highway and next to the university. Short drive to markets and the vibrant downtown. Will be staying here...
I have been staying there the 2nd week in November for at least 10 years in a row now. Most experiences have been good or I would not have gone back. However on my last stay, I was billed an extra day. (After prepaying mind you). I had to call 3 times over the last 9 days to get the issue resolved and as of the time of this writing, it is still not resolved. I stayed 2 nights checked out at 11:30am...
The customer service here is top notch. They have a nice indoor pool and fitness center. The rooms are updated and very clean. The beds are so comfortable and clean. They have a breakfast buffet that is pricey but very good. I would recommend staying at this location. It is close to down town Burlington.

Wait staff was excellent. Hotel staff was excellent. we were in room 203 - recommend a reading lamp of some sort be placed by the two sitting chairs for reading. Otherwise the room and location was great. We had dinner on the patio. Very windy and cold. The roof should have been closed to cut down the wind; and perhaps some tall gas space heaters. Had salmon which was cooked way too much. Otherwise...
As I’ve told the Team, it would have been so easy to complain about any little negative details that could have come up given the rates. When you pay the price, you expect nothing but perfection - but perfection literally happened. Staff, room, the spot in general ; every single details were on point. Staff was helpful, kind - food was tasteful, nice ambiance, lovely place and the room was clean. Rooms...
My wife and I went a friends wedding here, and the staff was EXTREMELY kind, caring, efficient and helpful. They were attentive to all of our requests and needs, and even though we had to have a plan B indoor wedding because of weather, we never missed a beat. It was absolutely amazing from start to finish. We could not thank the staff enough for helping to make this wedding absolutely amazing! We...
The Essex Inn & Spa is a very pricey hotel that is not worth the price. Housekeeping only came once to make our bed over five days. Also, the Tavern (casual eatery) is way too expensive which was a shock. For five people we paid $116.00 for breakfast which comes down to almost $23.00 per person for breakfast!!! We tried to eat off property as much as we could and found some reasonably priced restaurants...
On our way through VT to Maine we started having car issues and had to stop to get it repaired. Luckily the closest hotel from where we were stopped was The Essex. What a wonderful experience! When they found out what had happened to us they gave us a wonderful rate on our room, which was so cozy and comfortable. We loved the bakery samples and the pool was fantastic! Every staff member we came across...
I enjoyed my visit here. There is a shopping area which has a few cool shops and a little movie theatre (you reserve your ticket on line). As for the hotel. I enjoyed the pretty gardens surrounding the hotel. There is a decent heated outdoor somewhat shallow pool which was nice to relax in. I also tried both restaurants which I will also review. There was only partial house keeping. They change your...

Close to amenities. Staff were friendly. Great customer experience while staying there and after the stay.
An absolutely amazing place to stay. Very clean, people were so friendly and everything was easy to use. We took advantage of the pool and restaurant and it was all amazing. They even met all the needs for our kids! Lastly, we left something behind that was our kids and they went above and beyond to find it and ship it to us! Thank you for an amazing stay! Highly recommended!
We had such a great stay here! We reached out before arriving and Brandon at the front desk was so wonderful and helped make our stay special. The hotel itself is lovely and in a great location. Our room had a gorgeous view of the lake. Everything was very clean, bed was comfy. They even sent up some wine for us! So great. Thank you!
Close to everything and very convenient. When breakfast places were packed we were able to eat right at the hotel with good food and quick service. We came in from riding bikes along the waterfront late for lunch. Annie and I think it was Tessa were awesome and made sure we were able to get a great lunch. The portions were incredible and we didn’t need a big supper after that. It held us over very...
The location is absolutely perfect - a quick walk to the waterfront and to Church Street. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. I love that there is a beverage station on every floor - I was especially excited by still and sparkling water on tap. We enjoyed using the Hotel’s bikes. Get a lake view room for a spectacular view. Staff were friendly. There is a corn hole area and a big fire pit...
Hotel has a great view of the lake. Staff is very friendly. Parking $15, you can cut through the lot for a quicker walk to Church St. Hotel lobby has been redone, hotel is starting to show some age.
Not well kept, paint scratches throughout the room! Asked for a nice view, preferably on the water side, got a view overlooking roof tops and parking. Had to ask around for coffee which is usually available in the room at other hotels. Overpriced!

Great hotel, lots of restaurant choices nearby. Friendly staff, modern equipment at the fitness center. Quiet, clean, and plenty of hot water for showering.
A nice hotel, and desk staff exceeded by facilitating me in removing a large dead bird from our front grille that clobbered us 20 minutes outside town. Gloves, bags, and checked online just in case we were supposed to report it to Vermont Wildlife.
Clean and a standard Hampton Inn breakfast. I was pleased as it pretty much responded to all the usual criteria of a Hampton inn - Clean, comfortable beds, competent staff and a hot breakfast. That being said I found it to be very overpriced given the location, problems with parking, size of pool and the fact that they allowed a barking pitbull to stay in the hotel and a very rowdy sports team. Not...
The location is great. Maybe too good because we didn't get the room we ordered and payed for. The fridge started to noise in the middle of the night. The AC is doing its loud noise since we got in. We had a long trip (three weeks across the US) among more than 8 different Hampton Inn suites, that's our only disappointment.
A typical high-quality stay at a Hampton Inn. Good service. Clean. Nice rooms. Good breakfast. Decent restaurants and good beer within walking distance.
It is clean, handicapped accessible, great breakfast and friendly staff. The shower did not drain properly as we stood in our own dirty water during our time in it. The toilet handle sticks after using the toilet and in bed allready settled we had to get up and jingle it to stop the water from running. The Bathroom does not have a ventilation fan or a fan switch for that matter, so when going number...

I had quite a comfortable stay here. It was a while ago now, but credit where credit is due. The room was tidy, clean and quiet. The beds were well made and comfortable, and when I felt restless I went outside for a walk around the building and the spaces created by the architecture and landscaping were inviting even at night. There weren't a whole lot of extra frills, but if you need a convenient...
Very nice Hotel, I stayed at this Hotel back in February of 2015 while I was visiting Burlington. I had a wonderful stay they gave us a room with a nice view of the back, the breakfast was very good I had eggs with a Belgian waffle with the famous Vermont syrup. The staff was very nice as well. Burlington was a great little city with plenty of great restaurants and attractions and they have a really...
Very comfy and clean beds. We only stayed one night but it was exactly what we needed, and then some. Both an indoor and outdoor pool, exercise room, and a really nice restaurant that we didn't get to eat in. My only downside would be the toilet seat in the bathroom. It's not a full seat but has a cut out in the front like in a public restroom. Not something I liked.
Staff here is so friendly! At the front desk and in the restaurant. Room was clean and furniture was nice. Outlets were not near the bed. The coffee in the lobby was a nice touch. Restaurant food was below Holiday Inn expectations. Most of the vegetables listed on the pasta dish menu were not on the pasta when it arrived. Great location!
This hotel is convenient if you want to be close to down town Burlington, but needs renovations special on bathrooms and hallways.
We were treated better, and had a nicer room, than at a VERY expensive Hilton in Quebec City the night before. We were greeted warmly and enthusiastically by Alyssa who seemed eager to make sure we enjoyed our stay. Her attitude made for a great start. This was a stark contrast to the previous night’s Hilton stay where the staff were simply business-like and distant. Our room was spacious and the bed...

Dinner takeout in room. It was good. The person who checked me in was awesome. I had to come up for my son's knee surgery and told him that he was on crutches and we would like a room on a lower floor and not too far down the corridor if possible. He gave us a room on a lower floor and it was right by the elevator. That made a huge difference when I had to take my son for his surgery and back to...
This was an excellent choice. Great location. There’s awesome views to the Lake. The staff was incredibly accommodating based on some situation that occurred. I couldn’t have asked for a better situation. Highly recommend the stay. Cheers to the staffing here; especially Sam (Night Shift on 1/23/2023) who assisted further. He went above and beyond. Exceeded expectations and was not necessary at that...
This is a Courtyard, so don't expect anything fancy, but this is a good hotel and we enjoyed our stay. We hit the hotel during a 3 week New England driving tour. The place is clean and located close to restaurants and Burlington's lovely waterfront. The service was fine. Nothing special, but no issues either. Parking was on-site and plentiful during our stay. We would return without hesitation
This was a pleasant surprise. The lobby was well put together with several independent areas, including lounges. The room I was given was spacious, clean and with amazing views. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom comfortable. Overall, a great spot with modern decor and inviting ambience.
Pros: The view can’t be beat. Central to the water, Church St, and lots of great restaurants. Rooms are clean. Cons: the service is poor. They seem under-staffed. The elevator will take 15 minutes just to get down or up. Aging building cannot keep up with growth. The incredibly high cost! I paid nearly $600 for a one night stay. And yet this still remains a very average hotel with longer waits at...
Perfect location for walking to shops, parks, and restaurants. Beautiful water view. Most comfortable hotel bed I've had in years. Staff was courteous & helpful. Parking is expensive in the garage. Avoid it if you can but it is convenient.

Enjoyed our weekend here. While I took a star off for the mattresses, which were not as comfy as I'd hoped, the room was clean, well appointed, and quiet. Staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was also in close walking distance (even in the cold) to local breakfast spots and other restaurants so we didn't have to worry about parking. Would definitely stay here again.
The atmosphere here is awesome. Really well done interior design and all the seats in the lounge area plus bar are very comfortable. The bartenders know what they’re doing too. Top notch cocktails. Food was also on point. Very impressed all around.
Highly recommend this hotel to experience a uniquely excellent stay in Burlington. Warm, modern, rustic vibes greet you at every turn in this thoughtfully appointed property — from the loaner bikes and local suggestion cards, to coffee and tea bar on every floor and the in-room amenities, to Sunday morning cider and cider doughnuts — someone though of every detail that might make ours stay more pleasant...
I booked a corner room so we could see the lake. View was as promised. Room showing some wear and tear but not too bad. Reason my 4 star went to a 3 is due to the fact that there is no place to sit outside and enjoy the view you paid for unless you purchase something from the bar. We had bought a lovely bottle of wine in town with some cheese and wanted to sit outside to enjoy it but were told we...

Well appointed suites fully equipped. Cordial staff. Decent breakfast that was constantly replenished. Our unit was right on the main street so we heard constant traffic; some soundproofing would make this review a 5 out of 5. I would definitely recommend this location for it's service, location and facilities.
The hotel was in a great location. We were traveling all over Vermont, visiting family and general sightseeing. We were looking for a more upscale hotel that wasn't going to break our budget. Our favorite hotel in town!!!! This is our second time staying here and next time we are also planning on staying here. The staff is very nice and helpful ALWAYS, thank you for that! I recently had a 2-night stay at the Green Mountain Suites Hotel and had a wonderful experience. My room was huge - a king bed suite decorated beautifully. I took full advantage of the Happy Hour each night (from 5:30 pm-6:30 pm) which was a lovely amenity - complimentary wine and beer and snacks served in the lobby with a beautiful fireplace. Special shout out to the Front Office personnel - Kamran...
My wife and I have been to many hotels around the world, and this is probably the second best hotel we've stayed in. The best hotel, we feel, was a 5-star hotel in the Philippines, that's hard to beat! The staff upgraded us to a room with a fireplace and it was very welcome (in fact, the first thing my wife did, when we reached the room, was to switch on the fireplace and sit in front of it!). This place is an incredible value. Features a double fireplace in the lobby that's actually nice enough to want to go down and visit, and they put out these freshly baked chocolate chip cookies at the front counter that are to die for! I have had to stay in Burlington due to a very sick family member at the hospital. Tim answered my desperate plea for an afordable room rate during peak tourist season in VT. The hotel is perfect, the rooms are so homey. I am so grateful this hotel gave me a safe haven when my world was crashing.
Pretty well kept and very clean. Staff was all very pleasant. Lots of options for breakfast, though it’s not a normal buffet due to covid. Overall pricy but we have no complaints.
This place will be my new go to when I'm visiting Vermont. We were greeted by a very kind gentleman that made sure we got a great room for us and our 3 large dogs . This Marriott offers free breakfast which is so convenient. They also provide la limited dinner to compete with the other hotels found locally. For a family of 2 adults and 2 kids we had a king and used the pull out. The rooms were clean, modern and included a kitchenette but felt it was a tad small for what we were used to. Hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating. Check in and check out were easy. The rooms were very clean and the beds extremely comfortable. I was very impressed actually. La Quinta can be hit or miss depending on the location. This one was great! We were close to everything. They are also dog friendly
The staff is most helpful. When I checked in I was told no reservation. Turned out I booked a La Quinta in Burlington, Washington. Shannette called the hotel and they cancelled my reservation and I was not charged the penalty of cancelling less than 24 hours prior. The breakfast is fine. Coffee is petty good. Waffles yummy. I'd definitely return.
Service was good. The front desk guy was very helpful and polite. However, it's a very, very old hotel. It needs a renovation very badly. It wasn't dirty, simply used. The bed was okay but the room a little cold for my taste. Location was good, right off a main road, right next to a grocery store and a pharmacy. If they do a renovation, it'll be a great place to stay!
Room is clean, furnishings are old. Surprised that it did not have a microwave in the room. The bed is a bit too soft for me but the room is quiet, we were able to have a good rest here. There is no housekeeping during your stay. Maybe it is the norm now. Breakfast is good, staff is also friendly. Overall, it is a decent place to stay, Burlington area hotels are just very expensive, I have expected...
The Good - Room was clean and above average size. It had a refrigerator, microwave, couch and desk. The bed was comfortable (enough) and the bathroom shower/tub had tall showerhead (important for me) and big enough for my wife to comfortably soak. It had free parking and free breakfast. The Bad - Breakfast wasn't great, but I never expect much from free breakfast. The parking was full, but we were...
Hotel is nice and clean, nothing extravagant. Staff is wonderful and friendly , very attentive. The complimentary breakfast offered is okay, typical breakfast-on-the-go food; I wanted a little more but it was enough. Nice size functional room and with WIFI! I would stay here again.

The staff was delightful, the room was spectacular, the amenities were much better than I expected, and the entire room was exceptionally clean. I went here to have my sleep study done as the have 6 rooms here. And it was gorgeous very nice and the guy that deals with people that come in for sleep study his names Paul he was awesome 👌 very very nice guy.
Great stay. Clean. Close enough to Burlington, Stowe, etc. Quiet. The breakfast selections were also decent.
Clean and up to date. Great customer service from booking up to checking out. Would have give 5 stars if it wasn't the little humidity smell coming from the hvac system. No health concern about that, seen/smelled way worst before, but would have been perfection if it wasn't for that.
Great room, clean and comfortable. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Continental breakfast was excellent and varied. Great place. Beautiful lobby. Will definitely stay again.

The bed was comfortable and I will give it that. Water stains on the ceiling, tiles falling off in the bathroom, really in need of deferred maintenance to be not deferred anymore. Overall it was clean, somewhat comfortable, and the location was excellent. But yeah keep up on the deferred maintenance.
The suites are very large! And the beds were surprisingly very comfortable! The rooms gets warm quicky if you utilize the heat. Bathroom is great and water warms up quickly. Breakfast is okay, nothing special. Wish they had cookies in the evening like other hotels. Gym is alright. Wish they had a pull up bar. Also, please add electric vehicle charging stations! While the lobby has obviously been renovated, the rooms have not. They are clean and spacious, but do not carry the feel of the lobby throughout. Also, when there are so many rooms, they need more than one person running the continental breakfast. The lady running it today did a fantastic job, just with so many people, it's hard to keep up.
Hotel is not easily noticed from the road, but has plenty of parking out front. The lobby staff are extremely nice and the complimentary breakfast is excellent. The rooms are pretty good, but do need some love. Carpets are old and stained, the pull out mattress in 555 was shot and I'm sure others are too. Plenty of outlets and USB charging ports, but a few were a bit loose... Overall, I'd stay again...

I had a suite with separate bedroom. Quite roomy. Sofa kitchenette dining table. Bed was comfortable. Quiet the night i stayed. Free hot breakfast. Excercise room and business center. The list rate is $289 per night but i used some points to pay $119.
Rooms were very clean. No mold in rooms. The issue I had was 2 things. First it was on route 7 in south Burlington and second the front desk attendant tried to have me pay for my 4 night stay out of pocket when in fact my employer was paying for my 4 night stay. Oops nice try on getting me to pay. Other than that no problems.
The smart suites were quite expensive for what they were. Quite a way out of the centre of Burlington but, a bus stopped right outside (when it was running). Decent hotel. Rooms are a little worse for wear. Very drafty main door (entry was exterior right off the parking lot). Old upholstery and "leather" type couch was cold and without pillows. Light in kitchen didn't come on. Comfortable bed. Overall clean and roomy.
Rooms are clean and spacious. Check-in was a breeze. Very hospitable staff! Nice little continental breakfast and really close to highway, shops and restaurants.
Overall I was disappointed because the pictures didnt match our experience. The gym was a joke and the rooms didnt have bedrooms, just an open plan. The pool was nice but a bit small for laps. The jet pool was not hot, but the jets worked. . . The place was generally understaffed when we were there and not everyone was so helpful, but overall they treated us well.
Condo style accommodation with several long term residents and many moving trucks dotting the parking lot. Rooms look slightly worn. View was of the highway. Convenient to the highway and pets welcome.
The hotel was nice. The staff was pleasant and helpful. We enjoyed the pool. It was heated with a nice hot tub attached so it was easy to hang out with the kids while they swam and I enjoyed the hot tub. We had a loft suite so the room was very big, 2 floors. Just had dinner at the restaurant. The food was excellent. Ate upstairs. Very large. It was pretty full. A sign I'm not the only one that loved the food.

The bathrooms in the handicap accessible rooms are excellent. The showers and the shower benches are a real convenience.
Love this hotel. I’ve been staying here since I was a little kid! The place has always been reliable, clean, affordable, and in a great location. The staff are all friendly and helpful. The addition of The Windjammer and The Upper Deck (pub) turn this into a perfect experience

The hotel was clean and the staff was nice, especially Carrie in dining room was exceptional. we highly recommend this place.
A decent place to stay. Do yourself a favor and skip the breakfast. The suites near the elevator are extremely loud- mechanical sounds...all night. But some other rooms are quiet, clean, and comfortable. Really too bad that the suites are so loud. Friendly and attentive staff that is super quick to respond with extra towels etc to the room. Great location if you enjoy shopping in Shelburne.
When Google says it’s a 2-star hotel, they don’t know what they’re talking about. This is more than a 2-star hotel. Free WiFi, Breakfast, workout room, pool and a hot tub, absolutely lovely. Although it promises a view of Lake Champlain, the room me and my family were in had a view of trees. Not bad though, not too bad. The pool water is cold, but going between the hot tub with its warm temperature...
My daughter and I stayed at this hotel a few months ago. I was very impressed with how clean it was. Even the stairwells shined. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The bed was so comfortable, I don't think I moved all night. I would definitely stay here again!
Honest Review The lobby was clean and very orderly. Coffee is available 24 hours a day in the lobby. The staff was extremely helpful. The room was very clean. Housekeeping cleaned daily and stocked the room. The indoor pool and hot tub were clean and in good working order. The fitness center had everything I needed. The morning breakfast had multiple hot options and plenty of choices. The staff kept...

All the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Rooms were comfortable, nice to be able to access Netflix. Perfect location for a stop off from the highway.
Room was clean and spacious. Modern and updated with all the essentials. The windows however are not sound proof and being close to the airport means no sleeping when planes are landing or taking off. The lighting in the bathroom were a bit dim. Overall well worth the price as it’s close to everything, direct highway access, pool and gym on-site and staffed by extremely friendly people.
Decent hotel. Has the stuff you want. It's a little dated at this point with old heating units that make a lot of noise and old style hotel showers. Also kind of out of the way
I stayed here while traveling for business and it was comfortable. The staff was friendly and very helpful. I would recommend it when traveling in he area.
Stayed at Courtyard in Williston, Vt over the Christmas holiday break with the family and everyone had a wonderful experience. At check-in Graeme could not have been more personable and made our little ones feel welcome. He's a true star and knows what the genuine hospitality should feel like! The lobby was very warm and festive during the freezing weather. The indoor pool and jacuzzi kept us busy...
Good Location. Close to lot of Business and Restaurants. Staff is helpful. There is a restaurant/Bistro inside the hotel.
